Chapter 1816: The Golden Cross Force!

[Hey! Did you get any news about the ongoing war on the Thronabras planet?!!] Hye didn’t hurry to make a sudden move, instead he sent a message to the pirate king while standing in the portal region.

The portal area was densely packed with lots of ships that acted like how Hye did. They were people who came here without any business to any side fighting here. And while he waited for the response of the pirate king, he instantly linked with the common channel of this world and tried to see what was going on.

[I got nothing about any of that! Can you try and see what’s happening, or the name of the forces fighting, so I can gather more intel?]

[No need, I got what’s going on!] Hye sucked in a cold air of breath, before adding, [It’s indeed true that enemies cross paths more often than friends do!]

[Are they the Toranks?!] The pirate king had the deadliest race he was fearing off pop up in his mind when reading Hye’s words.

[It’s the Hescos!] Yet his deadliest enemy wasn’t Hye’s sworn nemesis, [I’ll have to go now. It seems I’ll start gathering lots of loot earlier than planned!]

As he closed the messages, he returned to fully inspect the common channel of this planet. The news was already filling everything there, and he didn’t need to search for anything, just opened the topics and read what was mentioned in the first page!

No one knew what made the Hescos launch an attack over a group of mercenaries who were passing by here. Yet what everyone could agree upon was that no matter who these mercenaries were, they were giving the mighty Hescos a hard time.

Even if the details about both sides’ real strength and size of fleets weren’t available, Hye could tell this war spanned over a large area, including lots of ships and fleets.

He didn’t hesitate to switch to a flagship. The appearance of a large battleship in the portal area was alarming for everyone, causing a stir even in the common channel.

Hye didn’t mind any of the posts speaking about his battleship. In fact, he found it funny how people here had such a wide imagination. He even saw posts linking the appearance of his flagship with the arrival of a third big force belonging to a big race. He even read posts guessing which big race his battleship belonged!

He put all this aside, while turning towards the biggest issue he needed to solve before making up his mind. "One side is the Hescos, but what about the other side?" he thought to himself, while trying to decide who was the ones giving the Hescos such a hard time.

He glued himself to the radar of his ship. The radar was strong enough to cover almost half of the war area. Just from the first glance he could tell this war couldn’t be between the Hescos and an unknown group. The size of fleets fighting here was no lesser than how it was when he partook in the last war over the Toranks caravan! 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"I need to search for their emblem... There must something like that in the common channel..." Hye could see dots on his radar, yet he couldn’t see images or direct feed of the battle. He wanted to find a photo of the symbol of that group, send it over to the pirate king, lady nymph, and Major.

"Bingo!" Just as he scrolled through the older posts regarding this war in the common channel, he finally found posts with pictures taken by bystanders.

"A golden cross with two red dragons surrounding it... Interesting flag!" Hye didn’t hesitate to forward these pictures and sent them over to his three friends. Then he waited for any response from them.

[You need to get yourself out of there!] The first response he got came from no one else but Major. And what he sent over was this weird message.

[Can you be more specific? I need information about them, not advice to retreat!] Hye didn’t get any other information from Major, so he sent this, asking for an explanation.

[They are the Golden Cross, a group of infamous fanatics and a brutal group of mercenaries!] Major didn’t respond faster than the lady nymph, who added, [They believe that the universe was created by gods, ones who are true and mighty, not the same type of those who you knew back in the apocalypse!]

[Gods? Real gods?!] Hye didn’t get what she meant, and yet what Major sent explained further.

[They are a group of crazy folks, a mixture of many races who lost their kingdoms or lands over the course of time. They believe suffering is a must, death is the goal, and this universe will perish in the end, and they exist to serve such a purpose!]

"What a group of crazy bastards they are!" Hye scoffed, [They suffered death and destruction, to end up believing in that sht as the true nature of the universe? What a twisted mindset is that?!![

[It’s not like that!] Major sent, [They believe the suffering they witnessed was a calling message from their gods. And their mission in life is to deliver and spread such a message over the entire universe!]

Hye was puzzled when he read what Major said, but what the lady nymph sent cleared up his puzzlement.

[They are crazy! They think they exist to spread chaos and ruins all over the universe. From ashes we rise, and to ashes we lead everyone into is their motto! They want to see nothing else but destruction of the current universe. That’s why they go anywhere in the universe, kill without sense, destroy without caring about any gains, and even collaborate with our enemies, the outer universe!]

Hye’s thoughts froze when he read what the lady nymph sent. A group of people surfaced in his mind, the ones who he clashed with at the end of his apocalypse.
