Chapter 1808: The Gem and Cultivation

This base, despite being protected by strong defensive formations, was still new and vacant. From the wars Hye witnessed so far in the universe, he could easily tell such force he built here wasn’t enough, was far from enough.

"Time to raise the level of my kingdom’s core force," he instantly shared the screenshot of his profile with his friends and top generals and leaders. He asked them to select the most capable, most promising people they know of and bring them here.

During the next few days, Hye kept helping his core personnel to level up. It wasn’t an easy task for any of them, even if they heard lots of explanations from him, even when he got tired and recorded an entire process of leveling up for others to learn from.

A week passed like that, while he helped a small group of fifty to hit level two. "This is a very slow process," Hye didn’t like the long time it took for everyone to do it.

He thought he found a good way to overcome the limits of the system, and yet he found out this wasn’t an ideal way to do it. Even if he left someone he trusted to help others raise up their levels, it would still take a long time.

"Forget about leveling up one million, even leveling up ten thousand will take more than a month!" he ran calculations in his mind, hitting such a desperate result in the end.

"It’s not practical this way," Hye sucked in a cold air of breath when he tried to calculate how many bones he would need to nourish enough crystals for ten thousand people. It was too much even for him, and the end result wasn’t that great.

"I’ll change my tactics then," as he hit such a wall, he decided to change his approach, "instead of openly using this method, I should only limit it to my trusted leaders and generals..."

He decided to follow the same approach he started by just leveling up the core of his kingdom and armies. "If I can’t level up everyone, then I’ll pick the most promising ones to level up."

Hye took out Lucas, a few of the strongest races he got as warriors, and let them level up. One week later, he finished leveling up all of his kingdom’s core people and his most capable warriors.

During this, he kept following the latest news from his new territory, in addition to the latest development from the Toranks caravan incident. The war ended by withdrawal from everyone one week after his return.

No one was considered a winner, as all sides kept blaming the others for stealing the caravan. No one knew the truth, but eventually one force emerged victorious from all this mess: the pirate forces!

"The Black Apple Pirates... Not a bad name!" Hye finally noticed the name that the pirate king and the lady nymph picked for their outlaw group. He didn’t notice it in the middle of the hectic war earlier.

"They are mentioned a lot! Great start!" Hye searched for the name of his pirate group, ending up finding lots of articles attacking the group and sticking tons of charges and dirty work to them.

"It’s an underground world, the more infamous they become the better," Hye didn’t have an underground interface like how the other two had, and yet he used this as a measure to see how well his group performed.

"It seems having a previous underground force leader in the helm was a good choice," Hye nodded in satisfaction, before turning his full attention towards something else.

Two weeks passed since he asked his warriors to train. He knew cultivation was a long journey, and two weeks were nothing in the world of cultivation.

Yet Hye didn’t wait much longer, "Wake up!" he ordered and all of the warriors sitting on the ground opened their eyes, before slowly standing up.

"Interesting..." Hye picked warriors standing at the low level of cultivation. They were quite weak, considered mere cannon fodders. And yet when he looked at them, they exuded an air of power they never showed before.

"Did you feel any difference after training?" Hye asked them one by one, and the answers he got were similar in one thing; they all got stronger!

"I made two breakthroughs, my lord!"

"I passed through a bottleneck and managed to get to a bigger stage, my lord!"

"I got stronger, climbed three small stages and am now close to breaking through a major stage!"

The answers he got were quite shocking! In cultivation, one might spend a year and have zero progress at the end!

Hye’s warriors already trained a lot on cultivation for years! The ones he picked were the least warriors with potential in cultivation. So, seeing such progress happen after a short time of training was indeed a great news to Hye.

"They made such progress even with low affinity to cultivation... Then how about others?!" Hye’s thoughts drifted towards the stronger warriors in his arsenal, the ones who progressed far ahead than others.

"I was right after all," recalling how this gem needed dark realm bones to get activated, bones which came from the outer universe, "we were training on cultivation in a very unsuitable environment... I can’t wait to see how others will do..."

Hye took more warriors this time, starting with his Soulers and Reapers. "Train here till I call you back," Hye literally filled the entire planet he was on with his warriors, while letting Lucas lead them all, "after this training, you’ll conduct tests to reorganise your forces!"

"As you command, my mighty king!" Lucas’ eyes shone brightly in fire while he got what Hye meant. The latter knew that Lucas determined the worthy leaders of Soulers and Reapers based on powers. As the universe system levels were stagnant for most, Hye intended to use the cultivation level as a main ranking measure.

Hye got a billion Soulers and Reapers, yet they didn’t fill the entire planet. He added much more from other races, before boarding his ship and leaving.
