Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Central Bank

"Oh. So the aura causes your metabolism to burn quicker? Alright, let me add that.

What? The sword can only be summoned for five minutes? Okay...

You become really weak after enhancing your physical condition? For how long?

The recall ability has limited uses as well?"

Guy keeps adding and adding more details to Blaze’s assessment.

Blaze’s powers do have weaknesses, but he has no intention of telling Guy those true disadvantages. Instead, he tells him the one that can be a surprise for his enemies.

Blaze makes up so many limitations that Guy even sweats a bit.

"Okay, that’s enough. More information will not work in your favor. I do not want to type more words."

Guy says, sliding his fingers on the touchpad and locking the information.

"Well, at first I was going to give you an A3 power level. But with these weaknesses, you are barely able to reach A5. Are you sure you do not want to fix anything?"

"It’s good, instructor. I’m an honest boy, after all."

The word ’instructor’ strikes a chord inside Guy, and he freezes instantly.

"Why do you call me ’instructor’?"

Blaze knows he misspoke. Guy was always called the instructor in Nadyr’s memory, so Blaze instinctively says the word.

Blaze tries to hide the truth by acting a fool. He scratches his head, acting innocent.

"Oh, I’m sorry. It seems like a fitting title, you know."

"Hmm. Call me Guy."

"Understood, sir!"

"..."

Guy deactivates the gravity inside the assessment room and calls the girls out to leave.

The group returns to the welcome hallway.

Guy goes and talks with Nicole, sending the assessments of Blaze and June to her for processing.

"The girl is a D-rank, no doubt. The boy is extremely powerful, an A5 Awakened. You may want to pinpoint his record in case the organizations may want him."

"Oh?! A-rank?"

Nicole looks over to Blaze. There isn’t any A-rank in Akansa, Guy here is also only a B-rank.

She never thought that an ordinary kid like him could be so powerful. Especially from his old and small clothing. But examining him closer, Nicole can see his defined muscles and large frame.

Blaze catches her gaze and smiles back.

Nicole gulps instantly, thinking if she can get his number. Marrying an A-rank is even more beneficial than marrying a rich kid.

A rich kid may not be an A-rank. But an A-rank will definitely be rich.

Rich and powerful, a dream guy for any girl.

"Hey! What are you staring at?"

Alyson senses some danger and immediately speaks up.

"Ah? I’m sorry.

So, Miss June Richmond, your badge will be available seven business days from now. You can come and collect it on the appointment date on this paper, here."

Nicole immediately switches the subject and hands June the document.

"Thank you, Miss."

June says.

"And for you, Blaze Singer. Your physical power badge should be ready in 72 hours.

But we can register your digital badge right away. You can use it to register a credit code with the Central Bank as soon as possible and also for other formal business.

This is your access code, which you can use to log in via our Awakened League application. The username is your real name."

Blaze also receives a document from Nicole.

June looks over to them and contemplates slightly. She has to wait for seven business days, but Blaze is only 72 hours. What a difference. But the boy is an A-rank after all, so she can understand.

"Thank you, Nicole. And thank you also, Mr. Walker."

Guy does a slight nod, acting like it is no big deal, while Nicole smiles aggressively.

Alyson stares at her with great intensity that causes Nicole to freeze her smile.

"What did you use to ride here, June?"

Kana turns over to speak with the girl in the red jacket.

"Oh, I’m on my motorcycle."

"Well, we’re going to the Central Bank to register a credit code for Blaze now. Do you want to accompany us?

We can go to Dominic’s house together later."

"I’m sorry, but I have somewhere to be. How about we meet there later?"

"Sounds good to me."

While the women talk, Blaze takes out his phone to download the Ranas Citizen app.

He uses his name and the newly provided password to log in to his citizen account.

Ranas is an advanced society, so much of their record is digitalized already, everything can be searched with one simple click.

Blaze takes a look at his profile.

[Power Badge]

[Name: Blaze Singer]

[Date of birth: 11/11/X-21-99]

[Gender: Male]

[Power rank: A5]

[Power level: A5]

[Beneficiary: None]

What Blaze really cares about is the last line, beneficiary. With a power badge, he can register a beneficiary badge for his mother, guaranteeing her the rights of a citizen.

Everything can be done online, so he doesn’t need to go through the paperwork again. All he has to do is put in the details for his beneficiary and their relationship.

A new beneficiary badge is issued within seconds, which Blaze sends over to Kana’s phone.

Blaze lets out a long sigh. One task is done. His mother will now at least have the decency of a normal person.

What a rotten system... Who invented this government structure anyway? It allows Awakened to abuse ordinary people.

Blaze is enraged by just thinking about all the stuff he and his mother went through because of this system.

The badge also doesn’t ensure any physical safety for Blaze or his mother at all. More powerful Awakened can simply dust everything under the rug if they want to mess with his family.

The only guarantee of safety can only be provided by strength and superpowers. No one will mess with his family if he is strong enough.

This sparks an idea inside Blaze’s mind. He is thinking about creating a troop of clones to protect Kana when he is not around.

Hugo and Anton attract too much attention with their appearances. They were also seen inside the Roof, so they are not suitable to be Kana’s bodyguards.

But Blaze can make another clone that looks exactly like him to be around her.

Genesis Legion also has the Sub Power Psyche Split that Blaze has never used as well. With it, he can assign a clone with independent thought so it can react on its own.

He already has an idea about what kind of clone he will be making for this job. However, this task will be for later.

The three climb onto Kana’s car and drive off to the Central Bank.

The Central Bank is similar to the Underground Network. It is not governed by the Giants or any of the factions inside Ranas.

It is hosted by several powerful individuals Awakened. Some have ties with the Giant. Some come from the Underground Network. Some do not belong to any factions.

A true neutral entity inside Ranas.

It has to be this way since the Central Bank controls everyone’s flows of wealth. A corrupt financial institution will cause harm to the opposing factions.

This fact ensures that no factions let the other take hold of the Central Bank, keeping it as neutral as possible.

The Central Bank is near the Awakened League. Its official title is Ranas Financial Central Bank.

The Central Bank in Akansa is a much more humble building compared to the Awakened League.

However, it is, in all the senses, grander in every other aspect.

It is a large building for sure but is much more reserved, and the main building only has around five floors high. It has a large complex to cover the expansion of the building structure.

The Central Bank structure is three buildings combined together, placed into a U-shaped formation.

The main building in the front is where all the official matters are handled.

The left building is the Digital Vault, where the credit information of all Akansa citizens is stored.

The right building is the Mobile Operation Compound, where the military and mercenaries that work for the Akansa Central Bank reside.

The Central Bank has its own military forces, and every subsidiary has an independent unit.

It is required for a sensitive, neutral organization like the Central Bank. One cannot remember all the countless attacks that it has encountered throughout the year.

A fact that makes the Compound always essential.

Kana drives them inside the Central Bank premises. Armed guard standing in front of the gate.

They have to drive by a large scanning machine before they can be let through.

All three also have to show their credentials before they can be accepted.
