I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 70: Soul Core
Blaze takes a look at the content on the Celestial Contract. It reacts with his thoughts and automatically deletes all the parts that explain its uses.
Blaze does not want anyone to know much about the Celestial Contract. It is best to keep as much secret as possible.
Then he has to decide the five clauses and the Oath that will be on the paper.
There are also five oaths, each corresponding to an aspect of a being, and one exception.
Blood Oath for physical. Soul Oath for spirituality. Essence for existence. Servitude for freedom. And the last, Celestial, which is related to the Cosmic Order.
"System, what is the Cosmic Order?"
This time the System does provide an answer.
[Cosmic Order: The rules and absolute authority of a universe, governed by the strongest gods and beings in that universe.]
"Does this mean gods exist? How many are there?"
The System does not reply this time.
From its response, Blaze can deduce a lot of information.
One is that this world is much more complicated than he used to know. Awakened, Superhero, Ranas are only a tiny dust in a vast cosmic space.
There are other beings out there that exceed the comprehension of any ordinary human.
Blaze has a feeling that he will encounter them sooner or later.
He has always been wondering.
What kind of gods let this injustice and cruelty exist? These gods, for that reason, must be at least indifferent or even evil.
Blaze hopes that it won’t be like that. If they are evil, he will slaughter them all.
An arrogant thought slips by his mind, which makes him laugh at himself. He thinks too much.
"The Celestial Oath is out. I do not want some godlike being to notice me.
Only the four oaths are left. I already have control over William’s soul, so I don’t need the Soul Oath either.
There’s the Blood, Essence, and Servitude Oath left.
I don’t need William’s freedom, so Servitude Oath is also not a good option.
The Essence Oath seems very powerful, but it mentions the existence of a being in a timeline.
God knows what kind of effect it will have if William breaks the Essence Oath.
The most logical and safest option is still the Blood Oath."
Blaze mumbles, considering the content of the Contract.
William will have to go far for his redemption. Blaze may not have control over his Clone from a far distance, so a Blood Oath is the most suitable.
Blaze picks the Blood Oath to be used on the Contract and erases the existence of other oaths.
Now, he has to decide on the clauses. Blaze already has the conditions ready in his mind.
"Let see what William has to say about it first."
From Blaze’s body, purple energy pours out and materializes into the three Clones. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
William, Anton, and Hugo.
Isaac, come down here!
Blaze also commands Isaac through Beast’s Link and summons him over.
All the personnel are now present.
William, Hugo, and Anton drop down on their knees, while Isaac lands on Blaze’s shoulder.
"You call, Master?" William says.
"We are for you to command, Sire!" Anton and Hugo talk in unison.
"Stand up. You two stand to the side. I have something to talk about with William."
"Yes, Sire!"
Hugo and Anton stand beside Blaze, watching the event unfold.
Sweat visibly runs on William’s face. He knows something bad is going to happen.
He has no other uses for this being anymore.
William doesn’t say anything and lowers his head down, touching the ground.
"It’s time for your punishment, William."
"Please, Master! I will do anything for you! I will be your loyal dog forever and ever!"
"Shut up and listen."
Blaze’s voice is low and deep.
"Originally, I wanted to eat your soul.
What you did. You did it out of selfishness and evil from your heart.
You did not have any remorse over it and even had thoughts of betrayal to me.
Naturally, that grants me the lowest sentence for you in my eyes.
So what will it be? Burning for eternity or being consumed to forever disappears from this world without any possible chance to reincarnate."
Blaze bullshits half-way through the speech. He has gotten used to scaring people as the Wraith.
"Please, Master! Not these!
I know I did bad. But I can be useful to you! I can be an animal like Isaac if you need me to!"
William slams his head to the ground repeatedly and without restraint.
"Choose your sentence!"
William gulps, looking at everyone around with hopelessness in his eyes.
"Hugo, Anton! Aren’t you going to say something to help me?
Isaac! You did the same thing as me! Why did you get the chance to be Master’s eyes?!"
The raven lets out a long sigh. It drops down from Blaze’s shoulder and stands with William.
The raven turns back to its original form, the appearance of Isaac Everdeen. He kneels down beside William.
"I thought we will have to come to this eventually."
Isaac says.
"Master... What me and William did was despicable. There is no explanation for it.
Our god is merciful but I know you are not.
If being eaten and being burned are our only choices, I will happily accept either of it."
"What?! What did you say?"
William’s eyes open wide. He cannot believe what he just heard.
"Oh. I know what you’re doing. You’re trying to evoke pity from Master!"
Isaac shakes his head.
"Master can see through our souls. Is lying even an option, William?"
William freezes in place.
He has always known that Blaze has looked into his memory. Everything that William did or thought was already exposed under Blaze.
He thinks back to the scene at the Roof. The obscenity and shame those girls have gone through.
It is unimaginable. William thinks that if he were them, he would rather kill himself instead.
For a long, long while, William stays silent.
He has no excuses anymore. None before an omniscient being that can easily pierce through his lies.
For the first time, he feels remorse. And for the first time, he lets go of all the weight on his soul.
"So... They aren’t lying after all.
Those lunatic religions.
Judgment will come. Karma will get you.
So it is all true."
William mumbles, talking to himself.
He then turns toward Blaze. He dares not look into the eyes of the Wraith.
And he says, "I choose to be consumed by you, Master!"
Isaac looks at William, a somewhat melancholic expression fills his face.
"If only there was a way to turn back time."
Isaac then bows his head.
"I also choose to be consumed by you, Master."
Blaze walks forward, standing right in front of the two of them.
"Look at me, William."
And the leader of the Nocturnal Animals lifts his head up.
A dark red aura pours out from Blaze and seeps into William’s body. Extreme fear takes over him.
And then Blaze uses the second Hidden Power of the Tattered Mask, the power that he has not had the chance to ever use before.
Blaze’s white mask turns into a familiar face in William’s eyes.
The face of a woman. The face of a girl. A girl from long ago in his memory. One that William tried to bury for all his life.
The girl that was killed.
Talia Mariam.
William can hide from himself, but he cannot hide from Blaze.
Not every villain has a chance for redemption, and not every villain starts out evil.
Tears well up in William’s eyes. The scene of her lifeless body shot up in his mind, vivid like it just happened yesterday.
