I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 115: Follower Slain

The veil of temporal energy envelops Adam and everyone else.

Adam becomes extremely slow. Not only his body but also his power and mind have the speed of a snail.

This buys enough time for the group to finish him off.

Blaze stomps Adam onto the ground and pulls the Karambit out of his chest. He thrusts it into the point where Sebastian has been shooting at.

One clean strike and Adam’s impenetrable skull slits open, allowing the blade to cut into his brains.

But damaging him does not mean killing him. The being inside Adam has granted him the ability of regeneration. To kill him off for good, Blaze can only count on Sebastian.

He pops the skull open like a bottle, leaving a wide-open hole. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Sebastian immediately shoves the barrel of his gun into the hole and fires repeatedly. Bullets bounce around in Adam’s skull, turning it into liquid. Smoke comes out of the barrel because of the intense heat.

"More! Do not stop!" Blaze yells, holding tightly onto the Karambit and keeping the meat hole open.

Even when slowed down, Adam’s regeneration ability is impressive. Blaze has to dig out the hole continuously to make sure his wound does not fully heal.

Sebastian keeps the barrel inside Adam’s head and, without pulling it out, starts to reload.

He pushes open the chamber in one swift motion and slides in the bullets without any hesitation.

And then the gun roars. Adam can hear it inside his own head and the explosion of the bullets in his skull. Everything happens in an instant, and he can’t even react due to the nature of his temporal existence.

Sebastian empties his guns and seems to be slowing down.

"Don’t stop. Keep going!" Blaze shouts.

"Okay!"

And Sebastian continues to reload and empty his bullets into Adam’s squishy brain. Blaze can see the yellow energy pouring out from Adam getting absorbed by the Moonlight Karambit.

Until now, it still hasn’t stopped. Therefore, it must mean that Adam has not died yet.

The third round of bullets goes by. Adam’s life force becomes less and less noticeable. But he is still alive.

Yellow energy is still pouring into the Moonlight Karambit.

"Keep going!"

Sebastian doesn’t even answer and just mindlessly reloads his guns and continues blasting Adam.

"This is one hard motherfucker." The Brutalist says.

Adam can’t do anything and keeps staying still for Sebastian to slowly degrade his life force.

Hutton flies upon the air, maintaining the temporal force field that is weighing on Adam. He can feel a force pushing back. A force so wild and enormous that it can break through the temporal field at any time.

Sweat covers Hutton’s face. He has barely recovered from the previous fight and still hasn’t drunk any Blood Potion or Mind Potion.

"I won’t be able to hold on for much longer!"

Hutton shouts.

Blaze raises the Karambit and slams it onto Adam’s head, cooperating with Sebastian to wreak havoc on the Commissioner.

They are in a race. A race between destroying and regenerating.

On one side, they try to diminish his life force. On Adam’s side, his regenerating ability keeps him from dying right away.

Whatever this power this guy has, it is the most resilient and devastating type of power Blaze has ever seen.

[Your Moonlight Karambit has absorbed a great amount of Divine Energy]

Suddenly, a window pops up in Blaze’s face.

[Entering Weapon Transfiguration!]

Before anyone can react, the Karambit pulls itself onto Adam’s chest and thrusts inside his flesh.

A shockwave explodes out from the knife, pushing everyone around away.

This force is the tipping point for Hutton, and he drops down from the air, no longer able to maintain his Temporal Expansion.

Adam’s cognition returns to normal speed. He opens his eyes wide when he feels his Divine Energy is being absorbed by this demon.

Adam grabs the Karambit and tries to pull it away.

"Are you crazy, demon?! You can’t eat Divine Energy! It will kill you!" Adam yells with all the air in his lungs, his throat coarse like a desert.

He is desperate and actually panics for once in this entire battle. Even if this projection dies, he won’t lose anything. But this demon is eating away his Divine Energy from afar.

From the tip of the Moonlight Karambit, a gold layer slowly climbs up and covers the entire knife.

Adam tries to use his power but is barely able to summon any. He can feel it pouring away from this vessel and is unable to do anything about it.

An unimaginable force is keeping him from fighting back. This force is unfamiliar even for being like him.

"What is this? Who are you?! This is not Demonic Energy!"

Adam grows weaker and weaker. His golden aura continues to dim down until a very small section around his chest is still glowing.

Blaze holds the Karambit with one hand. His other free hand materializes the Lantern of the Damned.

The yellow Lantern pours out a gigantic force that grabs at Adam’s soul and whatever symbiosis is attaching to his soul.

"You scoundrel! You dare to eat my projection!"

Adam is able to let out one last sentence before his transparent soul is snatched away from his body.

Other than Adam’s transparent soul, there are also yellow strings attached to the limbs of his soul. These strings lead into the sky and are so long that Blaze can’t even see their end point.

"I will remember this, demon! We shall meet again!"

The yellow string suddenly snaps off. Along with them is a small red pearl inside Adam’s head.

But before the pearl is able to retreat, the Karambit flies off of Blaze’s hand and straight at the pearl.

Its curved blade suddenly slits and opens up like a mouth of some sort. The Karambit swallows the red pearl whole.

"Nooooooooo!"

Blaze can hear the enraged scream of the being echoing around the space. Its yellow strings disappear from existence.

[Transfiguration completed!]

[Your Moonlight Karambit has gained a second form: Moonlight Twin-Blade.]

The Moonlight Karambit flies back to Blaze. On its way, the knife extends itself into a large, double-bladed weapon.

It looks like two giant knives stuck together with a handle in the middle.

The blades have the length of short swords. They have red outlines at the edges and a golden hue on the spine of the blade.

The handle that connects the two blades has a black color with a soft fabric covering it for comfort.

Blaze grabs the Twin-Blade, and it immediately splits into two, allowing him to use it as two different weapons.

"So this is why you are called the Twin-Blade."
