"Fuck," The Brutalist lets out a long scream, pushing all the air in his lungs. His muscle shakes like crazy to hold on.

But in the end, he is also swept away and almost slams into a pointy boulder.

Blaze zips around his giant body and catches him in time, preventing the Brutalist from dying again.

"Thanks!"

Sweat covers the Brutalist’s face like he just showered. He almost dies a second time today.

Blaze taps on his shoulder gently.

The Brutalist blurts out due to force of habit. Blaze gives him a glance but doesn’t say anything and dashes away.

It is hard to get the Brutalist approval. The only one he follows in all his time is Thomas, the Crimson. But now this mysterious shadow figure also exudes the confidence and commanding presence that Thomas has.

It is almost like having a second captain in the team.

All of a sudden, the ball of light bursts out six white wings that cover around it. An eyeball appears in the middle of the ball.

"Witness the power of the Divine!"

Golden veins bulge around the ball of light, and its iris shoots out a bright yellow ray that is almost the color of morning sunlight.

The beam aims at Blaze, and its reach is almost instantaneous.

Blaze points the Destruction Wand and lets out a red Thunderbolt, clashing face-on with the beam.

The red Thunderbolt gets eaten up immediately. The beam of light comes screaming at Blaze.

He dodges with his insane speed just in time. A corner of his cloak is being burned by it.

It didn’t hit Blaze, but he feels an excruciating pain immediately across his body.

"What is this power?"

"You feel it, yeah? Haha!" Adam laughs hysterically and directs the beam to chase after Blaze.

The beam pierces through the wall of the sewer like cutting through paper.

Luckily his redirect speed is not fast, so Blaze can run away. Dark red energy pours out from Blaze and turns into insects swarming at Adam.

The ball of light pulses like a heart and lets out a transparent shockwave. All the insects created by Fear get disintegrated immediately.

"Stop playing with that low-grade power, Wraith. I know you have more than that!"

The big yellow eye closes, and its six wings spread out.

On each of the wings opens up another set of eyes. It blinks rapidly at Blaze. Each blink sends out a vibration that destroys everything in front of it.

This is difficult to dodge, as the vibration smashes into Blaze instantly, rupturing his skin and breaking his blood vessels.

Blaze clenches his teeth, holding in any sound, and keeps running, escaping the gaze of those eyes.

This attack was much more gentle than the beam, but Blaze couldn’t dodge it. He hides behind a ruined wall to get away from the vibrations.

It works. The vibration is stopped by the mere brick walls.

The Swordmaster has utilized this short moment of distraction of Adam to get behind him. He inhales deeply, letting all the air inside his diaphragm.

And the Swordmaster swings his giant black sword. Countless blade fangs shoot out and slam onto the ball of light.

All the energy fangs grind on the glowing surface and disappear, leaving not even a scratch on it.

"No way!"

Adam flaps his six wings, sending out a gust of wind that blasts at the Swordmaster. The Runner comes just in time and grabs the Swordmaster to get away.

The Crimson attacks in the front, sending out countless spark lines at Adam. All is vaporized exactly like the Swordmaster’s attack.

"We can’t get through his defense!" The Crimson yells before ducking away and avoiding Adam’s counterattack.

"I need to get close to him to penetrate his defense!" Blaze yells out.

"That is going to be difficult." The Crimson says.

The Moonlight Karambit, with its penetration property, may be the only solution. But its range is extremely limited. Even with the extended energy fang.

"I may have a way." The Harpist says.

She deactivates the pink dome.

"Cover her!" The Crimson stands in the way of the beam and rubs his two gloves together.

The spark cloud enlarges even more. It is smashed by the beam of light.

The Crimson’s metal gloves break instantly, but his feet hold on. The armor on his arms is getting torn out piece by piece.

The Brutalist gets on one side of the Crimson and pushes his forearms forward, sharing part of the pressure for the Crimson.

But it isn’t enough, the Crimson and the Brutalist can see their flesh slowly turn into ash in front of their eyes.

The Swordmaster gets behind them and puts his two fingers on his third eye. The black energy pours out and covers the two teammates.

It buys them a second. The swordmaster’s third eye is bleeding heavily.

The Runner doesn’t have any durability power, so he doesn’t join the gang but runs at Adam. He jumps into the air and merges his two feet into one giant blade.

He spins rapidly in mid-air, turning into a drill and striking at the ball of light in complete hopelessness.

They buy enough time for Blaze to charge the purple Thunderbolt.

"Get out of the way!" Blaze shouts.

The Crimson roars like an animal and uses all his strength to grab the Brutalist, disengaging from the beam of light.

The Swordmaster ducks down on the ground, letting the beam go past him.

Thunder roars, and the purple lightning reaches out. It clashes onto the beam of light and actually is able to stop it in its tracks for a while.

Blaze pours even more electricity into the Destruction Wand. The bone wand glows purple, eating all the electricity pouring out from Blaze’s arm.

He holds the wand with two hands, adding more electricity to the wand to extend this attack.

Blaze grinds his teeth. His arms burn like they are put on a stove.

Then the Destruction Wand lets out a pity gas sound. It stops glowing and is no longer shooting out purple Thunderbolt.

The beam has no more obstacles and shoots straight at Blaze.

"It’s up to you now!" Blaze turns into a shadow and seeps to the ground.

"That is enough, Wraith."

The Harpist swings her palms forward in an X. A giant X-shaped energy slash goes forward, crushing everything in its path and turning the world into a white slate.

Their battleground sinks another level.

The giant pink energy slash collides with the beam of light and is actually able to push it back.

"Woah. That strike is powerful." Blaze says.

The Crimson dashes beside him. "That’s right. But Harp can’t do this attack too much. It will drain all her power after."

The beam of light is vaporized by the Harpist’s attack, and the energy slash smashes on the ball of light. The scene gets covered in dust and cloud.

"Did we do it?" The Runner says.

Without observing the result, Blaze already knows the answer.

"No, we didn’t."

When the dust subsides, Adam is revealed. He had turned back to his humanoid form, but now with a visible X cut on the flesh of his chest.

The attack was enough to wound him but not enough to leave too much damage. It only cuts into his skin by a bit.

"All of that for a scratch." Adam says with a smile.

The expression of everyone stern instantly.

Sebastian climbs up on the falling yard. The ground of the surface has fallen so deep that it reaches his battleground.

A cop darts out behind Sebastian and points a gun at him. But Sebastian is faster, he already turns sideways and pulls the trigger of his revolver.

The bullet pierces through the cop’s head.

"That’s the last one." Sebastian exhales.

He then looks over to the center of the falling yard and sees Adam, the A-Force, and the Wraith.
