I Merged with a Forbidden SSS-Rank Nanosuit After Being Abandoned-Chapter 91 - Fight!
Zion quietly moved closer to the group of C-ranks.
His expression darkened as his eyes darted past them, spotting several dozen more people gearing up inside the ship and preparing to move out.
’For this to not become impossible, we need to take out at least half of the C-ranks before the D and E-ranks join,’ he thought, clenching his fist.
He inched closer to the group of C-ranks without hesitation, dashing from rock to rock.
[Host,] Uriel said quietly. [I’ve prepared something that can help you.]
A holographic map opened up in his eye, displaying dozens of red markers.
Zion nodded once, his eyes locking back onto the C-ranks.
His expression darkened slightly as he noticed that they seemed to be planting something in the ground.
’Is that a life-force scanner?’ he thought.
[Affirmative.]
Zion gritted his teeth. The distance between them was only a couple hundred yards—something he could close in a few seconds.
’I need to go,’ he thought. ’Now.’
He pushed himself off the ground and dashed toward the group, no longer caring about stealth.
Just as the group of C-ranks noticed him, a chakram formed in his left hand.
Zion pulled back, then spun it forward with all his might.
The chakram soared through the sky at lightning speed, rapidly approaching the enemies.
The two front C-ranks barely managed to jump aside, the chakram slicing past where they’d just been.
A mercenary at the back wasn’t that fast, though.
The chakram shot toward him and plunged deep into his skull, killing him instantly as his body flew backward.
’One,’ Zion thought, lunging toward a C-rank at the very front.
"Everyone!" a loud male voice suddenly echoed across the battlefield. "Suit up now. Rangers, take your distance!"
The C-rank Zion lunged at raised his gun, while grayish armor slowly started covering his body.
Sparks flew through the air as Zion’s blade collided with the weapon.
The thin enemy was quickly pushed back, almost losing his footing as his gun twisted in his hands.
Zion’s eyes narrowed. He needed to kill him right now, before the armor fully covered his opponent.
"Go!" he said, pushing down with all his strength.
His blade slid deeper into the gun, nearly slicing through it.
"Fuck you!" the thin man shouted through gritted teeth as he pushed back with all his might.
Suddenly, Zion stopped pushing and pulled out his sword.
The thin man’s eyes widened, his arms still pushing forward.
Zion took advantage and spun around him immediately, stabbing through his throat in one clean motion just before the armor covered it.
As he pulled his blade out, the thin man stumbled back, dropping his gun as he reached for his throat.
’That’s two,’ Zion thought.
He glanced at the other eighteen C-ranks who had lined up in a clean formation several yards back.
’Assholes,’ he thought, disgusted. ’They instantly abandoned their teammate.’
Before he got the chance to curse them further, the same loud voice echoed across the battlefield.
"Rangers," the voice said. "Shoot!"
Zion dashed away immediately, several energy shots following after him.
’Shit,’ he thought, his eyes darting across the battlefield. ’Who is the commander?’
It only took a second to spot someone at the center of the formation in bright blue external armor, pointing a sword at him.
Before he could see any more details, his instincts screamed at him to stop.
Zion’s feet slid across the ground as he jumped back immediately, just barely dodging an energy beam.
"Good!" the loud voice echoed. "Keep him boxed in!"
Zion’s expression instantly darkened. He dashed forward with all his might, ducking behind a large boulder.
’If only they hadn’t retreated...’ he cursed, his eyes darting everywhere. ’I need to get into their midst somehow.’
The enemies continued raining fire on the boulder, barely giving him any time to think.
"Fuck it," Zion said, jumping up. "Uriel. Ten percent energy. Now!"
He raised his left arm, several metallic flaps switching open as he landed on top of the boulder.
[Affirmative,] Uriel replied instantly. [Would you like to try spread mode?]
"Spread?" Zion questioned, but quickly nodded. "Do it!"
The flaps on his arm raised horizontally, forming a bowl-like shape around it.
Blue light shone brightly from the bowl as electricity sparked everywhere.
Zion unclenched his fist.
A massive, crackling energy ball shot off in an instant, breaking through several smaller enemy bullets while heading toward the tight formation of C-ranks.
’Now that’s a good D-rank upgrade,’ he thought, a wild grin forming on his face.
As the orb soared through the sky, Zion dashed forward, following behind it to avoid getting hit.
Three enemies wearing gray external armor stepped forward immediately, two of them holding large metal shields.
The third, a broad, muscular man, held something different— some kind of large cross.
Zion’s eyes widened as a dark blue forcefield expanded in front of the man, quickly covering nearly half of the formation.
"Unique weapon," he mumbled.
The massive orb collided with the shield, sending sparks everywhere.
BOOM!!!
It exploded, sending large clouds of dust into the air.
Zion used the dust as cover and finally reached the corner of the enemy formation where the blue shield couldn’t reach.
In front of him stood a tall woman, covered in the same gray external armor as the second person he’d killed.
Upon discovering Zion, her face went white.
"HE’S HERE!" she shouted, raising a large warhammer above her head.
Zion raised his blade beside him and quickly jumped aside.
The warhammer slammed into the ground beside him, crumbling several feet of earth.
As the hammer sank deep into the ground, Zion jumped onto it and immediately pushed himself off again, driving it even deeper.
"NO!" the woman shouted, letting go instantly.
Zion’s blade slashed toward her, clashing against the external armor around her neck.
In that instant, the energy running through the armor was pushed away from the point of impact.
"Go," Zion gritted his teeth.
Suddenly, he no longer felt any resistance, almost as if the armor wasn’t there at all.
His blade slid through his opponent’s neck, severing it completely.
Her head launched into the sky as her body fell forward, blood spurting all over Zion.
"That’s three," he said, staring strangely at his blade.
