I Married the Second Male Lead After Reincarnating-Chapter 39
Chapter 39
The door of the auditorium was at the back, facing away from the seats, and with dim lighting, neither Qin Zhen nor Wei Jiu’er noticed the familiar person sitting here. It was only after they sat down that they discovered Shen Qingyue. Looking around, they realized that everyone sitting here was from the Shen family.
Qin Zhen pursed his thin lips. Shen Qingyue had actually brought Chi Ming to meet her parents?
Wei Jiu’er also noticed Shen Qingyue and turned to Qin Zhen, saying, “Let’s find another place.”
Qin Zhen replied, “Let’s sit here.”
Wei Jiu’er tightened her grip on her bag and fell silent.
The performances of the drama department were scheduled towards the end, and Shen Qingyue thought she had arrived late, but she still had to wait for a long time, feeling drowsy with her head swaying.
Chi Ming chuckled lightly, reaching out and gently pulling her closer, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.
Qin Zhen was seated next to Chi Ming and caught sight of his subtle actions. He lowered his voice and warned, “Don’t touch her!”
Chi Ming’s expression darkened. “Old ‘ex-husband,’ I advise you to mind your own business!”
He did not do much when Shen Qingyue cared about Qin Zhen in the past, but now, he might actually lose control and do something to this old ex-husband. He was never a good person! The only kindness he had was given to Shen Qingyue.
Qin Zhen felt annoyed, but he truly had no right to interfere with Shen Qingyue anymore. He tried hard not to pay attention to the two people beside him but could not control himself.
When Shen Qingyue woke up again, it was almost time for the performances of the drama department. It was strange because she usually slept peacefully, so how did she end up leaning on Chi Ming? She whispered to him, “I’m sorry for leaning on you. Is your shoulder sore?”
Upon hearing her question, Chi Ming smiled with a twinkle in his eyes. “It’s a little sore. I can’t move. How will you compensate me?”
Shen Qingyue immediately gave him a glare. “Move around on your own for blood circulation.”
Chi Ming looked disappointed. “Alright then. I’ve only been leaned on by you for a little over an hour; I can endure it.”
Seeing his dejected appearance, Shen Qingyue suddenly felt a strong sense of self-reproach. “Let me give you a massage!”
Chi Ming instantly brightened up, revealing a big smile with his white teeth. “Thank you.”
Shen Qingyue thought to herself, ‘I shouldn’t have asked. I feel like I’ve been cheated.’
She realized that she had walked the path paved by Chi Ming the most.
Qin Zhen, who had been watching the whole time, wanted to strangle the scheming man with two-faced personalities beside him!
Finally, it was time for the performances of the drama department.
Well, even though Shen Qingyue had a premonition, she did not expect it to be this terrible. While other performers had slightly inexperienced lines and acting skills, they were still decent as students. The problem lay with the lead actress, Shen Qingxue. Her lines were stiff, and she put too much effort into her acting, resulting in an awkward performance that made her want to dig a hole and hide.
However, Shen Xiang seemed satisfied. “Big Brother, I think Qingxue is fully capable of being the protagonist in a play.”
As soon as he said that, Shen Qingyue instantly understood. In the previous life, she was not in the Shen family and naturally did not witness this performance. However, she heard about Shen Xiang investing in Shen Qingxue’s film and it turned out to be a complete failure.
Not only did the film fail to make any profit, but Shen Qingxue’s acting was also ridiculed by netizens. Moreover, she even had an affair with the male lead, who happened to be married! The reputation of the Shen family was tarnished.
However, Shen Qingxue was persistent. She believed that people did not understand her acting style and asked Shen Xiang to invest in her again. Shen Xiang was always lenient towards his family, and besides, he had no shortage of money, so he naturally did not refuse. As a result, it ended in another financial failure.
Shen Xiang did not understand acting, so he asked Shen Qingyue, “What do you think?”
Shen Qingyue spoke frankly, “Her foundation in lines is weak, and her acting skills are not even on par with a freshman. I suggest she change majors.”
Chi Ming could not help but laugh.
Shen Xiang’s face turned unpleasant. “You don’t understand; don’t speak nonsense. Qingxue will definitely win first place.”
“If she can win first place, either the judges are blind, or you paid them,” Shen Qingyue replied nonchalantly.
Shen Xiang became anxious. “What nonsense are you talking about?! The judges are definitely fair and impartial!”
Shen Qingyue raised an eyebrow. Was her guess correct?
Sure enough, the first place went to the performance from the drama department!
Shen Xiang proudly said, “See, professionals are always better. They have better taste than some amateurs.”
