I Married the Second Male Lead After Reincarnating-Chapter 18
Chapter 18
The man’s gaze was like a sharp blade. He walked over step by step and looked down at him. “What did you give her to drink?”
“I… I just put a little sedative. She’ll wake up soon…” Gao Shen was terrified. He supported himself with his hands on the ground and inconspicuously moved toward the door. “If you like her, I’ll let you have her…”
“Have her? What do you take her for?” The man lifted his foot and ruthlessly stomped on Gao Shen’s most vulnerable spot. His eyes revealed undisguised killing intent. “Don’t let me catch you again!”
Gao Shen was in pain, his forehead covered in cold sweat, but he dared not resist and nodded heavily.
The man withdrew his leg. “Get lost.”
Gao Shen endured the pain and limped out of the room.
The man turned around, and the person on the bed had already woken up without him realizing it. Her cheeks were flushed, and she seemed a bit hazy. He walked over, and his gaze instantly softened as if he hadn’t been the one about to kill just now. “Little dazed one, how are you feeling?”
Shen Qingyue looked up blankly. Her vision was blurry. She could not see who it was, but she knew it was a man. She asked, “Qin Zhen?”
Upon hearing this name, the man’s face turned sour as if he had eaten a lemon. He sat down beside Shen Qingyue, his tone somewhat resentful. “Heartless woman, take a good look.”
Shen Qingyue turned her head and pondered for a while. Finally, she remembered something. “You… were sent by Chen Ying to find me?”
Chi Ming was speechless. He was just about to say something when Shen Qingyue’s face suddenly enlarged in front of his eyes.
Her eyes were as red as her cheeks, veiled in a layer of mist. Her hands pressed against his legs as she looked up at him, her eyes, tinged red from alcohol, fixedly staring at him.
Chi Ming’s Adam’s apple rolled, holding his breath.
Shen Qingyue suddenly grinned and said, “You’re quite good-looking. You look familiar. Whatever, since Chen Ying sent you, can I sleep with you?”
Although he knew she was speaking nonsense because she was drunk, Chi Ming’s heart still raced madly.
Before Chi Ming could react, Shen Qingyue suddenly pressed him down onto the soft bed. She held his chin, looking down at him, incoherently blurting, “Man, sleeping with me is your honor!”
Some drunkard was causing trouble everywhere.
Chi Ming tried hard to restrain himself, but how could he remain indifferent when faced with the person he had secretly loved for over a decade?
“You’ll regret it once you’re sober.” He spoke, as if advising Shen Qingyue not to act impulsively, but also as if persuading himself.
Shen Qingyue vehemently retorted, “I won’t!”
Gritting his teeth, Chi Ming asked, “Have you really made up your mind?”
Shen Qingyue forcefully nodded, but in her intoxicated state, her whole body slumped down and collided with Chi Ming, falling asleep like that.
Chi Ming, caught in a battle between reason and desire, ultimately decided to refuse. However, before the words left his mouth, he heard the even breathing of the person beside him. He paused for a few seconds, then chuckled softly.
Chi Ming supported Shen Qingyue as they went downstairs. He had the driver take Chen Ying home while he helped Shen Qingyue into her car. Just by looking at her, he felt his heart overflowing, and a smile unconsciously formed on his lips.
When he left years ago, he could not bring himself to express his deep affection for her. After all, he knew how much Shen Qingyue liked Qin Zhen, and he did not want to burden her. So, he did not confess and chose to go abroad. Now that she had divorced and was not living a happy life, he would not find excuses for his past cowardice, nor would he let go anymore.
He touched the strands of hair near her ear, his gaze firm. He straightened up, ready to close the car door.
At that moment, a hand reached out from behind him, grabbing the door and stopping his movement.
“Where are you taking my wife?”
Qin Zhen turned around, his eyes seemingly spitting fire. When he faced Chi Ming, he asked, “How do you know who I am?”
Qin Zhen did not recognize Chi Ming. This person was too unnoticeable, not because Chi Ming had an ordinary appearance, but because he was too low-key. He had always been like a shadow, and since Qin Zhen did not care much about Shen Qingyue, he naturally did not know who surrounded her.
Regardless, one thing could not be denied—this man had ill intentions, wanting to take away Shen Qingyue. “If I hadn’t come back, wouldn’t you, this meddler who intervened in someone else’s marriage, have succeeded? Since you know who I am, you should know that she has a husband!”
Qin Zhen changed venues with his friends to continue having fun, but he kept worrying about the situation here. In the end, he could not resist and came back to take a look. He never expected that Shen Qingyue would actually be taken away by a stranger. How could this woman have no sense of self-defense?
