I Level Up Dragons with My Evolution System-Chapter 33: Erased
Edward didn’t just look at the absurd explanation in front of him, of something that clearly didn’t seem like a skill of a beast at just level 10. Shouldn’t that be an ability of a beast in its third, fourth, or even fifth evolution? How could something so amazing appear in the first evolution of a caterpillar?
Is this what the evolution of caterpillars looks like? If so, it would be the best possible type of beast!
But he also looked at the dust coming out of the butterfly’s wings.
It was fiery pollen, its color intense and composed of microscopic embers that formed macroscopic dust. It was strangely beautiful, but deadly dangerous.
It entered the Death Knight’s body without encountering any resistance. Through his pores or penetrating his armor.
Suddenly, the Death Knight’s body froze. His sword slowed dramatically and he had no chance to reach Edward.
[Undead marked.]
[Damage Multiplied: activated.]
[Death Knight is rapidly losing health]
Although he was still confused, Edward knew that this was his chance to finish him off. He didn’t know how much health the Death Knight still had, nor did he know if the skill alone was enough to kill him.
So he jumped on him with fierce attacks, piercing through the undead’s rotten flesh and throwing him to the ground...
The Death Knight was stunned by the onslaught, but even more so... a scorching, powerful heat enveloped him from the inside out. His rotten flesh ached.
A Death Knight like him should never have felt pain again. He no longer had anything that could process pain. That sense had disappeared long ago. It had died with him.
He couldn’t even remember when he had last felt it...
But now he felt pain.
Intense pain... he felt something strange.
"You..." he whispered. His hand was disintegrating into ashes.
The Death Knight finally understood what was happening.
They were erasing him.
Perhaps he wasn’t going to die, because he was already dead... but he was going to be erased from existence.
His red eyes flashed with disbelief before fading into the cruelest, deepest darkness. Perhaps now he would feel nothing.
[You have killed the Death Knight: Guardian of the Desolate Temple.]
[Your Fire Caterpillar has gained 950 Experience Points.]
[Fire Caterpillar: Level 10.]
[Experience Points: 1,001/3,162.]
Edward was almost as perplexed as the Death Knight had been before dying.
That way of dying... was unlike anything he had seen before.
’What just happened?’
He stared at the empty armor at his feet, still unable to comprehend what had happened. He didn’t have time to do so, either.
The system suddenly bombarded him with a series of messages, each more terrifying than the last.
[The Guardian of the Desolate Temple died in confusion.]
[What happened? Why did his body feel so strangely sore?]
[His existence has been erased.]
[The System considers you a peculiar Enigma.]
[The Title: "Hunter of Death Wight" has evolved into "Beginner Killer of the End"]
[Check the System to see its benefits.]
[You have acquired the key to the "Desolate Temple." You can open the door at any time by coming to this place.]
He didn’t think twice. Before, he hadn’t had time to look at what that title was, but now it had evolved into something strange, and he needed to see what it was.
He opened the corresponding system window.
[Title: Beginner Killer of the End.]
Upgrades:
Passive Skill: "Touch of the End"
When you hit a death-related being (undead, necromancers, etc.), damage is increased by 10%.
.
Passive Skill: "Basic Death Resistance"

.
Passive Skill: "Vision of the End"
You can "see" fragments of "true death" around beings who are near the end of their lives.
.
[Follow your path, Beginner Killer of the End. This is an evolutionary title.]

Despite continuously reading the title’s effects, he found it difficult to believe what he was seeing.
This was... Like a video game, right?
’It’s starting to look more and more like a video game,’ he thought, in shock.
Titles, levels, summons, undead, and evil races that can level up... What was happening in this world?
Although for him, the most curious thing was that the humans in this world couldn’t level up.
He shook his head to stop thinking about nonsense he had no control over. The title was amazing, but unfortunately, it would only work against undead-type beasts.
He would have to hunt more of these guys in the future, but for now...
He looked at the key in his hand. It was an antique-looking key, quite large.
He unconsciously raised his eyes and looked at the place where the Death Knight had been sitting before. Deep in the background was a huge door. More than 20 meters high and 10 meters wide.
It was so big that it didn’t seem easy to move. But the system had something to say about that.
[Door to the Desolate Temple.]
[Hidden Dungeon.]
[Strong cursed energy inside, be careful!]
The system’s recognizable blue/purple tone had changed to a deep red tone for this occasion.
’It’s a dangerous place.’ He knew it immediately.
He couldn’t go in for now.
But he kept the key; if it didn’t have an expiration date, he would come back someday.
’What happened to the Death Knight, now that I think about it?’ Edward thought and looked at the system, feeling that one of the messages had told him.
[His existence has been erased.]
He blinked a couple of times, in shock. And he looked at the huge Butterfly running towards him, with a strange happiness radiating from its body. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
It conveyed its ease through the fluttering of its wings and the continuous change in altitude during its flight... Or so he thought.
But suddenly, he felt his body floating. He looked down; he was moving away from the ground.
Then he looked up; his butterfly was carrying him!
KIII!
The sound it transmitted to his mind... was not one of happiness.
It was alarm!
That’s when his mind realized.
’Shit, I’m on a Cursed Land!’ The hairs on his body stood on end like a hedgehog.
He quickly glanced at his pocket watch, which had somehow survived, although it was almost destroyed.
The time... had already passed.
Two minutes.
That was all he had to escape before being bombarded by the cursed energy of the place.
He suddenly fell to the ground after flying at various heights, nearly hitting his head on a rock.
He rolled quickly across the ground and called his butterfly to him.
"Let’s get out of here!" he shouted.
He did so before realizing the real reason for the butterfly’s alarm.
A sea of undead was coming from the deepest mountains. They weren’t just level 1 and 2...
There were higher levels too, perhaps the Wights were the most powerful... there were three of them.
They had lost control.
Their master had died.
Te Death Knight, leader of a Cursed Land, had died!
But it wasn’t a normal death... he had been erased!
It was normal for all the undead who depended on him to lose control like that.
’Shit...’
This time, there were no vestiges of power that would allow him to grow stronger. Even if there had been thousands of vestiges... he would die if such numbers swallowed him up!
Could there be a thousand?
Perhaps more...
The only thing there was this time were two limbs of his body that touched him and shouted: Run!
