I Help the Richest Man Spend Money to Prevent Disasters-Chapter 443
“No matter what happens, I will always be by your side.”
Whether it was in the past or this life, whether it was now or in the future, from now on, they would join hands and walk the road of their lives together.
Ye Zhi’s every move tonight was extremely sincere. In front of her, Gu Ren always fell for her involuntarily.
Gu Ren’s eyes moved slightly as if there was light burning in the dark night. He suddenly leaned over and touched Ye Zhi’s ear, making it itch slightly,”So, can the groom kiss the bride?”
The corners of Ye Zhi’s lips curved up and she shook her head jokingly. But when she shook her head, her earlobes would brush his lips, causing a more numbing sensation.
Before she could say a word, she was overwhelmed by his delicate kisses…
After Gu Ren and Ye Zhi finished their private wedding, they both sat on the bed but neither of them felt sleepy. Ye Zhi said in a heavy tone, “It’s 10 o’clock at night and it will be the next day in two hours.”
Gu Ren’s voice was low, “Mm, I know.”
Ye Zhi looked at Gu Ren with worry in her eyes, “Zhao Tianshi said that tomorrow will be the date of your death.”
Gu Ren’s tone was firm and seemed to be able to ease all of Ye Zhi’s anxiety, “We have already held the wedding ahead of schedule.”
Zhao Tianshi did say that as long as the wedding was held in advance, the catastrophe could be avoided. However, Ye Zhi still had a bad feeling.
Ye Zhi took a deep breath, “Zhao Tianshi said that some unforeseen things may happen. What do you think this refers to?”
Gu Ren was silent as didn’t speak. Since it was unpredictable, it must be something that even they could not imagine.
Gu Ren clenched Ye Zhi’s hand and his voice dropped, “We will definitely go through it smoothly.”
Ye Zhi hummed, and the two of them lay on the bed without speaking.
11.00 p.m.
The night deepened and the sky was darker than ink whilst the bottomless darkness was still spreading. Time passed quickly as Gu Ren and Ye Zhi held hands tightly.
11.30 p.m.
The dark clouds swept by and started to spread, covering almost the entire night sky. The light was blocked behind the clouds, so now there was no moonlight nor starlight evident.
For some reason, Ye Zhi suddenly felt her heart beating frantically. She turned to look out the window, but only saw the closed curtains.
The curtains were draped quietly like a cold and high wall, separating the place and the outside world into a clear boundary.
Gu Ren saw Ye Zhi’s movements, so he squeezed Ye Zhi’s hand and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Ye Zhi shook her head, “My heart is beating a little too fast.”
When Gu Ren and Ye Zhi were talking, they didn’t realise that the wedding rings on their hands were glowing faintly. In the dark night, it illuminated amidst their hushed whispers.
The light was very slight at first, but it gradually expanded over time.
Time continued to pass and the seconds ticked by slowly. The air was very quiet and every minute noise was amplified infinitely.
At this moment, a few ‘ticks’ could suddenly be heard in the air. The sound was not at all loud, but it was very clear.
Gu Ren and Ye Zhi raised their heads almost at the same time and looked at the clock on the wall. At this point, the hour and minute hands both point to the north.
It was zero o’ clock.
Neither of them spoke and the air was silent.
After a while, Ye Zhi suddenly felt her head becoming dizzy, she turned her head to look at Gu Ren. Then, her voice lowered uncontrollably, “I’m so sleepy now…”
Gu Ren also felt drowsy. Despite his breathing slowly becoming longer, he still clenched Ye Zhi’s hand tightly.
Ye Zhi wanted to turn her head to look at Gu Ren, but she didn’t have the strength to do so. Her eyes were closed and her body felt very heavy.
Ye Zhi murmured, “Good night.”
Ye Zhi’s body became heavier and heavier as she vaguely heard a familiar and low voice speak again, “Good night.”
Then, Ye Zhi fell unconscious completely.
A faint light shone between them, illuminating the darkness. Gu Ren and Ye Zhi both closed their eyes tightly as their fingers intertwined.
The wedding rings on their hands disappeared.
