I have an Apocalypse City-Chapter 580 - : Life Chain
Chapter 580: Chapter 580: Life Chain
Seeing Song Jian, Ye Tong’s face lit up with joy. Although the information above Song Jian’s head was all hidden, she immediately recognized him as a player.
“Hey, brother, help, save me!” Ye Tong shouted as she ran.
Players in the game were a strange group. They could easily become enemies over a piece of equipment, but when in danger, they would ask the nearest player for help, even if they hadn’t met before.
This phenomenon seemed odd to NPC adventurers in the game, but not to players.
As a rogue, Ye Tong came to the Blackhoof Tribe to complete a mission but was discovered by the tribe members during the mission and had been pursued until now.
“My level is still too low. If I were two levels higher, I wouldn’t have alerted anyone when leaving,” Ye Tong thought with some regret. This mission was important to her and couldn’t be easily given up. Seeing Song Jian, she saw her last straw and hurried towards him without hesitation.
Song Jian’s face darkened. He and Anna originally came here to quietly enter the Mysterious Garden dungeon without alerting the Blackhoof Tribe, but now their whereabouts were likely exposed, and it became doubtful whether they could enter the Mysterious Garden.
As for Ye Tong, although she was also a player and a female player at that, Song Jian didn’t trust her easily. He had seen several instances of people bringing trouble upon others and then slipping away.
More importantly, Anna, a Life Priest, had weak combat capabilities, and he had to ensure her safety.
Ye Tong saw that Song Jian only had a guarded expression and didn’t come forward to help, which made her feel disappointed and lost. But this was her only chance of survival, so she stumbled and gasped for breath as she ran towards Song Jian.
Song Jian stared at her with his longsword tightly held in his hand, protecting Anna behind him, without obstructing her actions. This gave Ye Tong a slight hope, and she ran faster.
“Be careful, there are beasts chasing me!” Ye Tong whispered.
Afterward, a loud roar was heard from the depths of the dense forest behind her. It was full of dominance, like the king of beasts, almost shattering the air. The strong energy swept the forest ahead, and all the trees seemed like they were about to be crushed.
Song Jian gave Ye Tong a cold stare, aware of her malicious intentions, but now that he was involved, he had no choice but to confront the enemy.
“I’m s-sorry, I had no choice…” Ye Tong stood a few meters away from Song Jian, panting heavily, with her hands on her knees.
She knew she had done something inappropriate and gave Song Jian an embarrassed smile.
At that moment, three huge black tigers emerged from the woods, each seven or eight meters long. Their massive claws gripped the ground as they encircled the group in an arc formation.
Their eyes glinted with bloodlust, and they wore vicious expressions, even when facing Anna.
“They’ve been controlled. My passive ability is useless against them,” Anna said, her face pale. The three black tigers put tremendous pressure on her, reminding her of the Shadow Teeth she had encountered before in the Shadowfang Mountain Range.
“This thief even brought two helpers! Tuya, go inform the chief, I’ll hold them off!” a deep voice rang out, and soon after, two burly Tauren emerged from the dense forest.
“What did you steal from them?” Song Jian grabbed the retreating Ye Tong and stared into her eyes.
“It’s my mission item!” Ye Tong struggled but couldn’t break free from Song Jian’s grip.
“How could his strength overpower mine?” Ye Tong thought. As a rogue, her main attribute was agility, but close combat professions would also add some strength. Ye Tong had obtained two Strength Fruits and one potential crystal, and with her equipment, her strength had exceeded thirty points.
“His strength must be at least forty-five points, or even higher!” Ye Tong guessed.
“Is your life important, or is the mission item important?” Song Jian retorted.
“If you block them for me, I’ll split the mission reward with you!” Ye Tong clenched her teeth.
“I’ll say it again, hand over the mission item, or I’ll throw you to those beasts!” Song Jian said impatiently.
Ye Tong narrowed her eyes, and a snake-blade dagger appeared in her right hand.
“You forced me into this,” Ye Tong gritted her teeth and thrust the dagger towards Song Jian’s chest.
“Humph, naïve!” Song Jian snorted coldly, grabbed Ye Tong by the collar, and with a terrifying burst of strength, lifted her up and threw her violently onto a nearby tree.
Ye Tong flew through the air like a stone towards a tree, but at the last moment, she managed to control her body, performed a mid-air flip, and landed firmly on a tree branch.
“Hey, thanks for the help, brother!” Ye Tong gave Song Jian a triumphant smile and a flying kiss before turning to leave. Song Jian’s attack hadn’t harmed her but indirectly helped her escape.
“Not good!” Song Jian’s face darkened. If Ye Tong escaped, he and Anna would face the wrath of the Blackhoof Tribe. Even if Kane had become the chief of the Blackhoof Tribe, he couldn’t explain away aiding Ye Tong’s escape.
“Life Chain!”
Anna raised her hand, and a milky white chain shot towards Ye Tong.
Ye Tong paled and suddenly emitted a puff of black smoke that enveloped her body, making her disappear. She had been saving this powerful invisibility skill for a while but hadn’t used it because the beasts could still detect her using their sense of smell.
After turning invisible, Ye Tong’s speed was reduced by 40%. As she took a step to run, the white chain curved in mid-air and wrapped around an empty space.
Slowly, Ye Tong reappeared, her entire body bound by the milky white chain, unable to move.
“How did you find me?” Ye Tong looked at Anna with an incredulous expression on her face.
