I Have A Sword-Chapter 1350: The Woman with a Longsword
Chapter 1350: The Woman with a Longsword
On the bustling streets, Ye Guan wandered leisurely with the maid, Xiao Hong.
Diyi City was undeniably lively with towering buildings and endless streams of people. Many merchants and travelers lined the streets as well. Moreover, the overall cultivation level of the people here was remarkably high.
The level of cultivation in this world far surpassed that of the Di Clan.
At the thought of the Di Clan, Ye Guan suddenly realized that they probably had no idea why he had suddenly disappeared. He would have to write them a letter soon to inform them of his situation.
Shaking off the thought, he turned to Xiao Hong with a smile. "Xiao Hong, do you know how vast the Diyi World is?"
Xiao Hong grinned. "Of course! The Diyi World is the largest world within the Ten Desolate Universe. Our clan's second Supreme Emperor expanded it even further, which is why it's massive, large enough to accommodate trillions of beings."
Trillions?! Ye Guan nodded. It wasn't surprising, after all, even a tiny blue planet in the Milky Way could hold billions of lives.
"How many beings are in the Diyi World right now?"
Xiao Hong replied, "According to official records, our world has tens of billions of inhabitants. Of course, many smaller civilizations have sought to join us, but we rejected them. Only Tier Eight Civilizations are qualified to join us."
As she spoke, a trace of pride flickered across her delicate features.
Only Tier Eight Civilizations and above could even hope to affiliate with the Diyi Clan?! Ye Guan was visibly moved. He realized that he had severely underestimated the foundation of these Supreme Emperor Clans.
Xiao Hong hesitated for a moment before sneaking a glance at Ye Guan. Then, gathering her courage, she asked, "Young Master Ye... are you truly a Supreme Emperor?"
After spending some time with Ye Guan, she found him to be approachable and easygoing, so she was no longer as reserved as before.
Ye Guan chuckled. "Do I not look like one?"
Xiao Hong studied him carefully and then laughed. "You look about the same age as me! So I find it really hard to believe. But... everyone in the residence says you are."
Ye Guan nodded. "I was a Supreme Emperor."
Xiao Hong blinked. "Really?"
Ye Guan smiled. "Of course, I'm not one anymore."
Xiao Hong moved a little closer, lowering her voice. "I heard that you sacrificed your cultivation to save your home. Is that true?"
Ye Guan turned to her, meeting her curious gaze with a smile. "It's true."
Xiao Hong looked at him in astonishment. "But you were a Supreme Emperor! How come you abandoned it?"
Ye Guan chuckled. "I can always cultivate again, but my people... wouldn't have come back. They would have stayed dead forever.
Xiao Hong fell silent, deep in thought.
At that moment, footsteps echoed behind them. Xiao Hong turned around and was shocked. She was about to bow but was halted by a gentle force.
The newcomer was none other than Diyi Jingzhao. She was clad in a flowing lavender gown, exuding an air of unparalleled elegance. A veil concealed most of her face, leaving only a pair of stunning eyes visible to everyone.
Ye Guan smiled at the sight of her. "I was just taking a stroll."
Diyi Jingzhao glanced at him before turning to Xiao Hong. "You may leave."
Xiao Hong immediately bowed and withdrew.
Diyi Jingzhao stepped up beside Ye Guan. "I'll accompany you."
Ye Guan nodded. "Alright."
The two walked together until they reached an imposing high-rise building. The building had nineteen stories and occupied an immense area that spanned over a thousand acres. It had a prime location, as it was right in the heart of the city's most bustling district.
The massive plaque above the entrance read, "Immortal Pavilion Guild."
Intrigued, he turned to Diyi Jingzhao.
"You're staring at the Immortal Pavilion Guild. I founded it myself. As long as you have emperor crystals, you can buy anything there."
Ye Guan grinned. "Shall we take a look inside?"
Without a word, Diyi Jingzhao nodded.
They stepped inside, and Ye Guan found that the first floor was a vast hall, large enough to accommodate tens of thousands of people. It was bustling with people, filled with the chatter of endless customers.
At the center of the hall stood thousands of crystal counters, arranged in a circular formation. Each counter had a uniformed attendant, and long lines stretched in front of them. The variety of goods was staggering—pills, talismans, divine weapons, arrays, and even demonic beast eggs.
Everything imaginable was available.
As they passed through the hall, a young boy who was around sixteen or seventeen hurried past them, clutching a demonic beast egg with eyes brimming with excitement.
"Supreme Emperor, bless me!" he exclaimed, "Let me hatch a dragon... please, let it be a dragon!"
Ye Guan chuckled and walked away with Diyi Jingzhao.
"Damn it! It's a chicken?! A chicken?!" An enraged roar echoed from the entrance.
Ye Guan turned around.
The boy stood frozen, holding the cracked egg. Inside was, indeed, a chicken. However, it was not an ordinary one. Its feathers gleamed like steel, and its talons were razor-sharp. Clearly, it was a chicken born for battle.
Furious, the boy stormed back to the counter, slamming down a handful of glowing emperor crystals. "Give me another egg!"
The attendant accepted the payment and handed over another egg.
The boy sat down, clutching it with both hands, and whispered, "Supreme Emperor, bless me! I need a dragon! A dragon egg!"
The boy carefully removed the seal and—
Crack!
A small beak emerged.
The boy's expression froze, and then his face went pale.
"I-it's... another chicken?! My half-year's worth of food expenses have disappeared... just like that."
The devastated boy—no, the reluctant owner of two chickens—walked away in despair.
Ye Guan turned to Diyi Jingzhao. "Do you guys actually sell dragon eggs?"
Diyi Jingzhao nodded. "Yes."
Ye Guan raised a brow. "How rare are they?"
Diyi Jingzhao looked at him. "One in a hundred million eggs contains a dragon."
What the hell!? Ye Guan's eyes widened. "Who came up with that scam? That's straight-up robbery!"
Diyi Jingzhao remained unfazed. "I came up with it."
Ye Guan was at a loss for words.
Diyi Jingzhao calmly explained, "A single dragon egg is worth tens of thousands of emperor crystals. A regular demonic beast egg costs only thirty immortal crystals.
"An Emperor Crystal can be exchanged for ten thousand Immortal Crystals. Buying a beast egg for thirty Immortal Crystals is nothing more than gambling. A small risk for a very big reward."
Ye Guan fell silent before asking, "Did you at least disclose the probability?"
Diyi Jingzhao shook her head. "No."
"I know it's gambling, but..." Ye Guan chuckled in disbelief. "If you don't disclose the odds, you're just scamming people."
Diyi Jingzhao frowned slightly. No one in the Diyi Clan had ever spoken to her like that.
Ye Guan saw her frown and smiled. "I was just saying things."
Then, he turned around and walked away.
After a brief pause, Diyi Jingzhao followed after him.
After browsing the first floor, Ye Guan made his way to the second floor. The atmosphere here was noticeably different, and everything was of higher quality as well.
There were fewer counters, barely a hundred in total, but the crowd was much smaller.
As he wandered through the floors, Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao eventually reached the sixth level. Unlike the lower floors, this one wasn't a marketplace; it was an auction hall, and a bidding was already underway.
Ye Guan had no intention of staying, but just as he was about to leave, something made him stop.
He turned toward the auction stage, where a woman had just stepped forward with a broken sword in her hands. A huge chunk of the blade was missing. It was about two fingers in length and was entirely jet-black.
It was also exuding a mysterious air.
Ye Guan frowned at the sight of it.
Diyi Jingzhao noticed his reaction and was about to ask something, but she ultimately chose to stay silent. Since stepping onto the second floor, neither of them had spoken much.
On the stage, the woman smiled and addressed the audience, saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, this sword was discovered by a mysterious seller under rather unique circumstances. It's broken, but it is far from ordinary.
"The starting price is a hundred thousand emperor crystals, with a minimum increment of ten thousand!"
A hundred thousand emperor crystals!
The hall instantly abuzz with excitement.
A hundred thousand emperor crystals wasn't a small amount at all. Curious gazes turned toward the broken sword. Normally, the auction house had arrays in place to block divine sense, but the restrictions were lifted, allowing everyone to examine the blade.
"A hundred ten thousand!" someone shouted.
Onstage, the auctioneer smiled. "One hundred ten thousand going once—"
"A hundred twenty thousand!" someone else shouted.
Ye Guan turned his head in surprise. Diyi Jingzhao had just placed a bid.
The auctioneer glanced at her with interest. "A hundred twenty thousand going—"
"Two hundred thousand!" someone interrupted.
Ye Guan turned to the bidder and saw a woman clad in a black robe. Her sharp eyes and sword-like brows gave her a striking presence, and there was a longsword on her back.
"Five hundred thousand!" Diyi Jingzhao's calm bid sent shockwaves throughout the hall, and she instantly drew countless stunned gazes.
The woman with the longsword narrowed her eyes. "Six hundred thousand!"
Diyi Jingzhao remained unfazed. "One million!"
The auction hall was thrown into an uproar.
The woman with the longsword abruptly stood up. She turned her gaze toward Diyi Jingzhao, and even though she made no move, a heavy pressure filled the air, pressing down on Diyi Jingzhao.
Diyi Jingzhao met her gaze without a flicker of emotion, completely ignoring the overwhelming sword intent.
The woman didn't bid again. With that, the broken sword landed in Diyi Jingzhao's hands. The auctioneer respectfully handed the sword to her, and without even glancing at it, she retrieved a dark gold card and handed it over.
The moment the auctioneer saw the card, her expression shifted dramatically, and he immediately bowed deeply. "Honored guest, please give me a moment..."
With that, she bowed once more before leaving.
Diyi Jingzhao accepted the broken sword, but instead of keeping it, she handed it straight to Ye Guan. The moment it touched his hands, the sword trembled slightly, as if reacting to something unseen.
Just then, the black-robed woman strode over and coldly asked, "Quite the extravagant purchase, but why are you giving that sword to a mere mortal with no cultivation base at all? Don't you think that's an insult to the weapon?"
The broken sword was dumbfounded.
