I Got A Title: Lord Of The Time!-Chapter 36: Awakened Academy
Chapter 36: Awakened Academy
An hour later, Lin and Nal were sitting in a car, driving toward the Awakened Academy, which was located almost in the center of the city.
Watching the road, Nal asked Lin something he had wanted to for a long time:
"Boss Lin, why did you decide to join the Awakened Academy? You used to say it was a useless place where they teach unnecessary information. Isn’t it better to just travel through the Dead Worlds?"
Lin sighed and replied to Nal:
"Yes, I really did think that, until I visited the Magic World. In words, everything may seem simple, but even I, with decent knowledge of survival and weapon mastery, still felt immense pressure when I was there," he looked out the window and continued:
"And the Awakened Academy is a place that teaches basic knowledge — not just on the surface, but in great depth. That’s why I decided to enroll there and study for a while, to better understand the Dead Worlds."
Nal nodded and sighed.
"Looks like I only understand things on the surface — and you — deeply..."
Lin looked at Nal and saw a hint of sadness in his eyes. He knew where it came from — since childhood, Nal had dreamed of becoming an Awakened and gaining a unique ability. But sadly, luck turned its back on him when he turned sixteen and didn’t receive a Title...
Lin smiled and said:
"Titles aren’t the only path to the unforgettable journey of countless transitions. Take weapon connection, for example — it’s much weaker, but no one has really tried to develop it to the peak. So you still have a chance to show some Awakened that even without skills, you can survive in the Dead World."
Nal smiled slightly at Lin’s encouragement and laughed.
"I hope so, I really hope so..."
The rest of the ride was quiet; neither of them wanted to start a conversation. Soon, they arrived at a large parking lot filled with cars: there were ordinary vehicles from the middle and lower class, but also luxurious ones that only the upper class could afford.
Lin slowly stepped out of the black car and said goodbye to Nal:
"Good luck, Nal. I’ll stay here for a while. We’ll meet again someday."
Nal nodded with a smile.
"Good luck, Boss Lin! Defeat everyone and show them what real combat experience looks like!"
Lin chuckled lightly and closed the car door. He looked toward the main entrance, where countless teenagers were entering — each with their own Title and skill. This made him sigh as he slowly walked toward the entrance.
Standing near the main gates, Lin stopped and waited for Egro. They had agreed to meet there to go inside together.
Standing there, many teenagers — mostly girls — were sneaking glances at him. After all, seeing a handsome black-haired teen in branded clothes here was unusual, but Lin’s standout feature wasn’t his appearance — it was the purple katana on his waist.
It drew everyone’s attention.
"Is something wrong with this katana?" Lin looked at his katana and didn’t notice anything strange.
"Why are they all staring at it so intensely?"
He decided to ignore it, and after a few minutes, he noticed a handsome teenager with golden hair and silver glasses approaching.
"And there’s Egro." Lin smiled.
Egro immediately noticed Lin and smiled back.
"Lin! Sorry I’m a little late, it was because of Rana..."
"No problem. The important thing is you’re here. Now, let’s go in."
The two handsome teenagers slowly walked through the gates and entered the territory of the Awakened Academy, which was quite large. Every corner of the academy was filled with lush greenery, grass, trees, and bushes, creating a very fresh atmosphere in the air.
Lin and Egro moved forward calmly, talking with each other:
"How’s Rana?"
Egro smiled and replied:
"Oh, she’s fine. She’ll be going to high school in a few months. She also just got a job recently."
Lin was surprised:
"A job? Don’t my people pay you 20,000 credits a month? Why would she go to work when she could focus on studying and improve her theoretical knowledge?"
"I told her the same thing, but she said it’s practice that she needs..." Egro sighed and shook his head.
Lin laughed and said:
"Well, if that’s the case, she’ll definitely become an important figure in the future."
"I’m hoping for that too."
"By the way, while I was standing here, a lot of people were looking at my katana. Is there something wrong with it?" Lin asked with a puzzled expression and showed Egro the katana.
"I can understand why. There are several reasons they’re staring." He raised one finger and continued: "First: at this point in time, melee weapons are far less popular than firearms. Sure, there are games like Arsenal where melee weapons are actively used, but they’re mostly designed to let people experience the feel of wielding them." Egro raised a second finger and continued:
"Second: it’s not a cheap hobby. Swords, spears, giant axes, etc. — they’re very expensive weapons that not everyone can afford. And your katana? If you sold it, I could live a whole year in peace. Weapons like that are for the rich. So the fact that you’re wearing it on your belt shows you’re someone with very high status."
"And lastly... It’s very difficult to wield and understand. In the Magic World, almost everyone uses firearms because they’re convenient against Distorted creatures of the Beast and Monster levels. But against Demons and Devils, firearms stand no chance. That’s actually one reason why all Adept-level Awakened use melee weapons."
"Not everyone is willing to swing a sword a thousand times, and not everyone is ready to understand it. That’s why people are so surprised." Egro sighed.
"So that’s how it is... Some people just aren’t willing to use swords and axes because they don’t want to "understand" them. That’s... a bit strange to me."
Lin looked around at the teenagers within his line of sight. He examined their hands and quickly realized they were too clean — definitely not the hands of someone who’s performed a thousand sword swings.
"Whatever the case — that’s their path. If they don’t want to study swords or other weapons — that’s their choice. My path is to reach a level of strength where I can take revenge on the Matrix family. And the katana — that’s my weapon for it."
Lin sighed and continued walking with Egro toward the main building of the Awakened Academy, where all the new students were gathering.
After some walking, they reached the building and entered along with a large crowd of teenagers. When they entered the designated room, they saw countless other teens, each busy with something.
Egro was amazed by the number of people and muttered:
"So many people got a Title... That’s really surprising."
Lin nodded, showing that he was also surprised, and then he heard a quiet voice from one of the teenagers:
"Look! That’s Silia Matrix! One of the best of our generation!" fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm
