I Evolve By Collecting Infinite Spirits-Chapter 63: Sorcan Raitor
Sin exhaled. ’Holy fuck...’ He almost couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
There were currently several panels open in front of his eyes. He didn’t know which one to click and look at.
*Ding*
’What now?’ He wasn’t complaining, but simply at a loss. He didn’t know whether to feel shock or joy, but right now he was feeling both!
[Dra’res has submitted Driscis Iver (Human)]
[Dra’res has gained a level!]
[Dra’res has gained a level!]
’I see... so that’s how it works.’ Sin noted, turning to face Zydrax.
With a simple look and a nod of approval, the water drake opened his mouth and absorbed all of the blood on the ground.
The blood rose into the air, glowing with a more profound red aura as it entered his mouth.
[Zydrax has consumed the blood of Cyre Yrown (Human)]
[Zydrax has consumed the blood of Finch Nemikl (Human)]
[Zydrax has consumed the blood of Driscis Iver (Human)]
[Zydrax has gained a level!]
[Zydrax has gained a level!]
[Zydrax has gained a level!]
’Fuck me... that’s a lot of levels.’
Just then, he heard some rustling on the ground in front of him.
’The merchant!’ His mind instantly thought--unsummoning both Zydrax and Dra’res. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
He walked over to the old merchant on the ground who was attempting to sit up as he groaned in pain.
Sin knelt down, helping the old man up to a seated position.
The old merchant opened his left eye--the only one that wasn’t swollen shut.
Seeing Sin, he felt a great deal of relief wash over his body.
He coughed a few times, attempting to speak.
"Y-young man... grab my pouch there. Inside are some healing potions for both me and you..." His eyes darted to see the corpses of the robed men sprawled across the ground.
"I imagine you will need them... after that fight."
Sin smirked, "That’s a kind thought." He grabbed a pouch that was a few feet away on the floor and handed it to the merchant. "But I’ll be okay for now."
The merchant coughed again, taking out a large red health potion from his puny pouch and downing it.
Within seconds, he was already looking more healthy, his body glowing slightly for a moment.
"How can I repay this favor? You have saved my life..." The merchant exclaimed as he pushed himself back up to his feet with the help of Sin.
"Well... how about we start with what happened here?" Sin asked.
The merchant sighed in exasperation as he responded: "These hooligans aren’t--weren’t a part of Blade. Far from it. They were denied entry long ago... failed prospects. To enter the auction house on this special auction day, they decided to take my card of entry instead. All merchants from foreign lands get these cards as proof of status and identity."
The man walked over to Driscris Iver’s body and pulled his golden card out of the dead man’s breast pocket.
"Thank god you arrived... or else they would have most likely killed me here."
Sin furrowed his brows on hearing all of this, "I see..." He said, "Special day you say? What do you mean? Is today more special than the rest?"
The merchant’s brows raised in surprise, "Oh? You don’t know? Today is the Grand Auction. Solstar is known for its trade and holds a larger auction than the usual daily one once a month. Merchants from across the kingdom visit this one, instead of just those nearby."
The man paused, facing Sin, "What am I blabbering on about... I haven’t even introduced myself to the person who has saved my life."
The merchant bowed deeply, "I am Sorcan Raitor, a Spirit Crystal Merchant hailing from Leadre, the capital."
Sin’s eyes widened slightly, "Spirit crystal merchant? From Leadre you say?" A smirk played at his lips, but he made sure no expression showed on his face.
"Yes... and may I have the privilege of knowing who you are?" Sorcan asked.
Sin paused for a split second before answering, looking Sorcan up and down.
’I don’t know whether he is trustworthy or not... but I guess I’ll have to see.’
"I am Sin Alaric Dalroth... a Hunter, and also an anonymous Spirit Crystal seller."
"Oh?" Sorcan said, slightly confused.
"I come from a small town named Lucel."
Sorcan’s eyes widened, "Lucel... I’ve heard of that town. The one that was destroyed, right?"
Sin nodded.
"Anonymous Spirit Crystal seller? It seems we are meant to be a match." Sorcan smiled, "But your anonymous factor has been stripped away from you, has it not? You have just told me your name."
"I told you for a reason." Sin smirked, "I want to do business with you. Of course... I expect my name to remain anonymous."
Sorcan paused, sighing. "I see... that is quite a difficult matter, however. I’m afraid it will take some time to consider... tell me this, how much Spirit Crystals can you produce?"
Sin replied hastily, "I can promise you as much as any other lord in the city of Solstar."
Sorcan’s eyes widened, "I wasn’t expecting that..."
"So is that a yes?"
Sorcan turned, "Well... it’s still a hard decision. It’s a proposal that came out of nowhere. I have people who have placed their trust in me for years... to take another customer from so far away... and one that I am not familiar with either is..." He hesitated to say that it would have been a foolish decision.
However, Sin wanted to sell his crystals before the night ended. So, he couldn’t afford any more time wasted.
"I don’t mean to be greedy... but as a favor for saving your life, I think you owe me this much."
Sorcan looked up at Sin as he heard this, not expecting to hear this way of speaking from the young man.
But Sin didn’t care about sounding like a good person.
"Your trusted sellers... even they would have been out of business had it not been for me. Think of it as greed if you will, but I am asking you again... sell my crystals, Sorcan." Sin spoke with a stern tone and a serious expression on his face.
His energy reflected that of a grown man rather than a teenager.
Sorcan paused for a moment, gazing into Sin’s eyes.
’It feels like a Lord talking to me or something...’ He mused for a moment.
"Greedy? No... I think I’m the one who has been greedy here. Accepting you as a stock producer is nothing in comparison to you saving my life. I accept your proposal, Sin."
Sin smiled, "Good... that’s what I like to hear."
