But Nie Heng was a step too late. Jin Yue heard Xing Shu’s voice. She frowned, wondering if she had misheard. The caller ID on Nie Hengs phone screen was indeed Cheng Langs name, but the voice emanating from the cell phone was actually a woman’s? Nie Heng even tried to cover it up by turning off the speakerphone, which made her even more suspicious.
Jin Yue’s face fell. She held her wine glass and did not say anything. She just stared at Nie Heng, who said calmly, “What is it?”
Xing Shu smiled. “President Nie’s promise to me… You won’t go back on your word, right?”
Nie Heng frowned. He had no inkling what Xing Shu was referring to. Xing Shu added, “Liu Chun and Feng Jian came and left, after taunting me.”
Nie Heng sneered. He could not figure out if Cheng Lang was by Xing Shu’s side or not. He still had to show respect to his buddy; and should not rock the boat with him by mocking Xing Shu. With Jin Yue beside him now, he could not complain to Cheng Lang for spoiling Xing Shu either.
Nie Heng was so aggrieved that his face turned green. “After taunting you, did they apologize?”
“Yes, but I’m not satisfied at all. President Nie, you know that I was almost disfigured this time. My feet are injured too. Young Uncle’s heart aches so much.” Xing Shu smiled slyly. See ifshe would drive Nie Heng to an early grave!
As expected, Nie Heng was infuriated by Xing Shu’s pretentious tone. He got up from the couch and said, “What exactly do you want?” As he spoke, he walked towards the door and lowered his voice. “Xing Shu, don’t think that just
because Cheng Lang dotes on you now, you can court death. Leave yourself a way out. Cheng Lang will get tired of you sooner or later. Do you want to burn all bridges?” Especially since Xing Shu dared to offend him. How dare she!
Xing Shu asked, “President Nie, didn’t you promise me in front of Young Uncle? Why are you going back on your word now?”
Nie Heng had already walked out of the private room. The surroundings were quieter, and his voice was clearer. He lit a cigarette and suddenly smiled. “Is Cheng Lang with you?”
Xing Shu turned around and nudged Cheng Lang’s shoulder. “Young Uncle, say something?”
Cheng Lang knew that Xing Shu did it on purpose. But he also liked Xing Shu with the devil on her shoulder—she was especially vivacious.
Xing Shu licked her lips and stared straight at Cheng Lang. “Young Uncle?” Her voice rose at the end with deliberate seduction. Cheng Lang’s breathing instantly became heavier. He grabbed the back of Xing Shu’s head—pressed her against him—and kissed her, repeatedly grinding her alluring lips.
“Mmm…” Xing Shu wanted to dodge, but Cheng Lang’s palm tightly held her in place. She went with the flow and relaxed her body, letting out moans.
The call was still live. Nie Heng held a cigarette between his fingers. He was about to take a puff when he heard a suppressed moan from the other end of the line. His fingers paused, and he suspected that he was having auditory hallucinations. He glanced at his cell phone. Who else could make Xing Shu emit such a sound other than Cheng Lang? His buddy… the one who kept a wide berth of women, actually…
Nie Heng was unable to accept it for a moment. He took a deep breath and could not help but blast angrily, “Cheng Lang, are you just going to let her seduce you?”
Xing Shu’s lips were finally released. She panted heavily and felt aggrieved. She was not the one who seduced Cheng Lang; Cheng Lang was the one who made the first move to kiss her.
Cheng Lang’s fingertips brushed past Xing Shu’s face and he retrieved the cell phone. He was about to speak when Xing Shu enveloped his lips again. When the long kiss ended and Nie Heng was still on the line, Xing Shu could not help but ask, “President Nie, aren’t you going to hang up?”
Nie Heng was already smoking his third cigarette. He snorted coldly. “I wanted to see how shameless you are.”
The corners of Xing Shu’s mouth twitched with mirth. Was she ruining Cheng Langs image? She picked up the cell phone and cleared her throat. “I don’t have the hobby of performing on the phone. President Nie, you should think about how to fulfill your promise.”
Nie Heng’s eyes darkened. “Xing Shu, no one dares to threaten me like this.”
He then heard Cheng Lang’s voice. “Nie Heng, stop scaring her all the time.”
Nie Heng was stunned. He instinctively held in his menace, but felt frustrated at the same time. “Come on, how have I scared her? She’s very brazen.”
Xing Shu was a little confused. She could not help but look at Cheng Lang owing to his sudden interjection. His eyes were deep. He had just uttered such delphic words, yet his expression remained unchanged at all..
