I Can Strengthen Infinitely-Chapter 151 - 130: The Coming Storm (Part 2)
After a few muffled sounds, the candlelight in the room went out, and everything fell back into silence.
Gently jumping into the courtyard, Qin Yuesheng used the Spirit Fox’s insight to survey the surroundings. The source of the intense malevolence within the Sun Mansion was in a large room nearby, far more concentrated than any Ghost Race he had previously encountered at Cold Mountain Temple.
Qin Yuesheng slowly drew the Evil-Subduing Saber and strode towards the house.
Bam! 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
With a kick, the door was smashed open. The room was pitch-black, and before Qin Yuesheng could see clearly, he sensed a foul wind rushing towards him, as a shadowy figure lunged at his face.
Raising his hand, Qin Yuesheng swung the saber, releasing a whistling blade aura that sliced down and hit the shadow directly.
The shadow came fiercely but was sent flying back even faster upon contact with Qin Yuesheng’s saber, crashing into the wall of the room.
The stench in this room was the strongest, with a faint trace of blood in the air.
"How did you find your way here?" A sharp voice rang out in the room.
Qin Yuesheng replied coldly, "Why waste so much breath?"
The blade aura whipped through the room, tearing apart everything under its force. In the moonlight from outside, Qin Yuesheng barely managed to see the shadow moving within the room, dodging his attacks.
This person was exceptionally agile, like a shadowy specter. Seeing he was inefficient, Qin Yuesheng immediately used the Great Vajra Palm, its golden radiance instantly illuminating every corner of the room.
"It’s you!" he exclaimed in shock upon seeing the figure after delivering the palm strike.
Unexpectedly, the Ghost Race hiding within the Sun Mansion was none other than the elegant Lady Sun!
Lady Sun now appeared fiercely menacing, blood trickling from her lips, as several maids, drained to husks, lay on the floor, stripped to mere skins.
Facing Qin Yuesheng’s glowing golden palm seal, Lady Sun’s cheeks puffed up and she suddenly spewed out a thick black mist.
From the black mist, two four-armed, two-headed demons emerged, rushing towards the palm seal with murderous intent.
Bam!
The two demons with eight arms attacked, but not only did Qin Yuesheng’s palm follow the golden radiance with a chant, these mist-formed demons were no match for him, instantly dissipating like melting spring snow, obliterated by Qin Yuesheng’s inner strength.
The momentum was still fierce, Lady Sun’s expression changed instantly, but Qin Yuesheng had already locked onto her, making escape impossible. With no options left, Lady Sun had to block with her palms.
Boom!
Lady Sun’s arms broke instantly, her body uncontrollably flying backward, crashing through the wall and tumbling outside.
Qin Yuesheng pursued aggressively. Lady Sun was extremely disheveled, her hair a mess, looking nothing like before. Seeing her arms hanging limp, Qin Yuesheng delivered a swift blade strike, splitting her instantly into two parts.
As Lady Sun’s body was split, a swarm of mosquitoes erupted from her, like a black cloud floating upwards, with a faint red glow flickering at its center.
Feeling something amiss, Qin Yuesheng immediately drew a flying knife and hurled it towards the red glow.
The knife flew like lightning, and upon striking the red glow, a fierce scream was heard, scattering the mosquito cloud in different directions, while the red glow, losing its cover, wobbled down from mid-air.
Walking over, Qin Yuesheng found a red mosquito, the size of his palm, missing its wings.
"Is this your true form?" Qin Yuesheng frowned.
"Don’t kill me! Don’t kill me!" The mosquito spoke in a human voice, wriggling away.
As the mosquito appeared, the stench in the air became unbearable, nearly choking.
"Tell me, do you know where the other Ghost Race members are hiding in Cyan Yang City?" Qin Yuesheng asked, holding the Evil-Subduing Saber over the mosquito.
"No, I don’t know. We each hide separately, only gathering if we receive information to discuss things." The mosquito replied.
"What is your name?"
"Plague, though many call me Eldest Granny Wen."
"Plague..." Qin Yuesheng frowned, "Do you know about the recent cold spreading through Cyan Yang City?"
"Yes, I know. It’s my children who spread it." Plague replied fearfully.
"So you’re the culprit!" Qin Yuesheng’s eyes widened, realizing he had stumbled upon the source of the sudden cold outbreak in Cyan Yang City.
From interrogation, Qin Yuesheng learned that the Ghost Race had devised numerous plans to locate the seal, one being Plague spreading disease through mosquitoes.
No one would suspect such tiny creatures, making the spread of illness surprisingly smooth and efficient.
Eldest Granny Wen revealed that numerous formidable Ghost Race members had arrived in Cyan Yang City, forming a group known as the Five Plagues, but one called Fire Plague had already died at the hands of ’Mr. Yi’. As for who Mr. Yi was and his true identity, Plague had no knowledge.
She only knew that Mr. Yi was incredibly mysterious, disguised and residing in Cyan Yang City for many years, and was in charge of all the Five Plagues’ actions.
Seeing there was no more valuable information to gain, Qin Yuesheng swiftly slashed Plague to pieces.
A Ghost Race like Plague, though not strong in combat, poses a hidden threat equal to any powerful combat Ghost Race when exerted.
Therefore, Qin Yuesheng couldn’t allow it to live. If Plague spread a more severe disease next time, Cyan Yang City could be wiped out within days.
After killing Plague, Qin Yuesheng chose to disassemble the body but found nothing of value.
He then hurriedly left the Sun Mansion before the situation was discovered.
...
Celestial Immortal Pavilion, top floor.
Ouyang Haichen held a jug of wine, gazing in a certain direction in Cyan Yang City.
The earthquake today was known to all in the city, yet Ouyang Haichen, watching from high above, saw a scene the street-walking citizens missed.
Black smoke rose to the heavens.
"So the seal was underground. No wonder the Five Plagues searched Cyan Yang City for so long without finding the seal’s location." Ouyang Haichen slowly drank a sip, "The Great Ghost Venerable has been sealed for years. Connecting with one can greatly amplify strength, gaining a powerful ally. If I succeed, I wouldn’t need to hide in this small Human Race city."
Ouyang Haichen’s eyes turned darker green, hands trembling in excitement.
"Chuntao."
Immediately, a girl in a short skirt rushed in from outside.
"What are your orders, sir?"
"Go inform those guys to meet me tomorrow night on Four Directions Avenue. That’ll be the time to unseal and release the Great Ghost Venerables."
"Yes."
...
Daoist Qingfeng paced in the inn room, while his fellow disciples, who had descended the mountain with him, sat nearby, speaking helplessly, "Brother Qingfeng, stop walking around, you’re making me dizzy."
"Those lords who went to the temple refuse to meet us, and the Cheng family manor is a restricted area now, we can’t enter at all. The seal faces Ghost Race’s covetous eyes, at risk of being opened any moment. Can I not be anxious? When I’m anxious, I feel restless, you all know that."
"Why doesn’t the Abbot come down himself for such a serious matter?" a Daoist wondered.
"Naturally, he’s preparing means against those Ghost Race members, even in case the Great Ghost Venerable is truly released. The Abbot merely sent us ahead to investigate, he’ll lead us upon arrival."
"Hopefully so."
Daoist Qingfeng suddenly stopped, "That Qin family’s young master seemingly holds a substantial position in the government, why don’t we visit the Qin Mansion tomorrow? If we gain his assistance, perhaps we can enter the Cheng family manor to learn about the current seal status and its stability."
Other Daoists responded, "Everything will be as Brother Qingfeng decides."
