I Can Give Talents-Chapter 460 - Waniwani Commerce Plaza
"Waniwani Commerce Plaza. Hoo... there really are a lot of people here. Six... seven thousand people?" Leyvi said as he scanned the bustling area with his spiritual sense.
He finally spotted many familiar faces from the Cloud Continent among the crowd. He made a mental note to meet a few of them later.
Hmm... I don’t see Brother Lin Wei here. Is he within one of the other faction territories? Or is he still inside that pyramid?
Leyvi remembered that the pyramid had been quite extraordinary. Perhaps Lin Wei had chosen to remain there.
"Why are some of them wearing collars? They all look identical," Leyvi asked.
"Those are people captured by Prince Charles," Rose replied. "The collars are how he controls them."
Leyvi’s mouth twitched. Another person who enjoyed enslaving others.
He had not heard a single positive thing about this prince since arriving in the colossal shade. Perhaps this prince had been made the scapegoat in the assassination plot precisely because he was the cruelest and most unhinged among the royals. It would be easier to frame someone already despised.
Leyvi did not understand the appeal of forcing people to obey. In his view, if you treated others with sincerity, they would voluntarily follow and work for you.
At least, that was how it had always been for him. His fan club back in Bara City was the best proof. Most of them had ended up eagerly working for him without any coercion. Where was the need to force anyone?
The group then arrived at a wide, well-lit street where numerous stores lined both sides. Many light sources illuminated the area, making this the brightest place within the entire colossal shade.
This part of the ancient royal city, which had once been a grand marketplace, was now bustling with cultivators. Many were using the restored storefronts to sell or trade the treasures and resources they had found.
Others were offering their services. Alchemists, blacksmiths, formation experts, and practitioners of various other professions had gathered here, setting up stalls to offer their expertise for the right price.
"I see... so this is the true no violence allowed area. With so many people around, it is easier to enforce it compared to the deserted areas." Leyvi commented as he glanced meaningfully at Ava.
As if already knowing he would take this chance to tease her, Ava kicked his shin before he could react.
"Fufufu~ Well, it could not be helped, Darling. We designated the entire royal city as a safe zone, but it was simply too large a place. There are too many areas where people can act secretly, making it difficult to monitor everyone. At least it worked very well here. Nobody dares to rob or kill anyone openly. So if Darling has anything to buy or sell, feel free to do so." Rose said, gesturing toward the bustling marketplace.
"Well, I don’t think I need to sell anything. But I’ll look around to see if there is anything I want to buy," Leyvi said while clutching his leg.
He then turned to Ava. "If you need to buy anything, just say it to me. I’ll buy it for you."
Even though the area was safe, who knew what might happen later elsewhere? Someone could be targeted after making a purchase and followed secretly once they leave. It would be better if he were the one doing all the buying. Let him be the only target.
Besides, it was a good opportunity to act like a caring husband. Her temper needed soothing regularly.
Ava was stunned. She had not expected Leyvi to say that. Her heart could not help but skip a beat.
"Well, sure," she replied, her tone softer and somewhat happy.
Hahaha! Look at how effective I am. Leyvi laughed inwardly.
Rose pouted. "Darling, what about me?"
Leyvi blinked. You are about to revert back to your original appearance soon. Nobody is going to target you looking like that.
"Alright, alright. You too," he replied. He needed her help later anyway, so he might as well let her be happy.
"Yay! I love you, Darling!" Rose hopped happily beside him.
Leyvi began exploring the market, scanning the stalls for anything interesting he might want to buy.
The more he looked, the more impressed he became by the variety available. He could find nearly every necessity here.
If someone needed certain alchemy products, they could find available alchemists here. If someone needed their spirit weapons or artifacts repaired, they could seek out a blacksmith. There were also formation experts offering their services for everything from defensive arrays to tool enhancements. Medical experts were present as well, ready to help cultivators afflicted with strange or lingering conditions that could not be solved by common alchemy products.
Even the less critical services were offered, such as restaurants. For those who craved heavenly foods, Spirit Gourmet Maestros were available to provide exquisite, Qi-enriched meals.
Leyvi found more ancient steles related to alchemy. Even though these steles did not seem to record higher-level alchemy knowledge, he still purchased them. They might still hold value for Anda’s research or contain fragments of lost formulas.
Because he mostly carried top-grade spirit stones, he had to trade some with Rose first in exchange for high-grade spirit stones. After all, all the spirit stone mines discovered here produced stones of high-grade quality at best. If he brought out top-grade spirit stones openly, it would likely cause an uproar and draw unwanted attention.
He also bought a broadsword for Valenia. It was forged from the same dense, heavy metal as the majestic broadsword she had found earlier. He knew she preferred weapons with substantial weight and balance.
What Leyvi did not expect to find in the market was someone actually running a clothing store here. Then again, it made sense. The outfits kept getting damaged in battles, explorations, and unexpected encounters. The shop offered many premade designs, but one could also request custom pieces if the materials were available.
The beautiful woman managing the shop was from the Cloud Continent and belonged to the same organization as Viola, the Eternal Beauty group. Her name was Miwa, and she was one of the people on Leyvi’s list to locate.
He engaged her in conversation and learned that she was currently part of Princess Waniwani’s faction. Since she was doing well and had settled in, he did not feel the need to invite her into his own group. It was enough that Viola would know her friend was safe.
Miwa was quite talkative and easy to get along with. Her great beauty did not make her arrogant, which was a pleasant surprise.
From her, Leyvi learned more detailed information about Princess Waniwani.
Apparently, she was the one who oversaw the operations within this commerce plaza, which she had named after herself.
She tried her best to ensure that everything cultivators might need, from small to large, from niche to mainstream, was available inside her market.
After Leyvi and the ladies finished shopping for new outfits, they went to a restaurant to enjoy some heavenly dishes. The heavenly dish stock that Tasya had prepared for him had been completely consumed, so he was craving something flavorful and Qi-rich now.
"Hmm... you can either order from the existing menu or provide your own demonic beast meat," Leyvi read from the menu.
If he provided the meat to the restaurant, he would not have to pay for the preparation, but the meat had to weigh at least one thousand kilograms, and the restaurant would keep three-quarters of it, serving the remaining portion to him. For demonic beasts, their meat weight could easily meet this requirement, especially for intermediate-level creatures and above.
However, it would take a few days to prepare the heavenly dishes properly.
"Holy Maiden, I am not familiar with the pricing. Is this a rip-off or not?" Leyvi asked quietly.
"Fufufu~ If Darling has demonic beast meat to spare, that would be the cheapest way to go. There are no demonic beasts within the shade, so people have to venture outside to hunt them, which takes quite a while each trip. That is why they do it this way, to secure more meat. Depending on the quality, the price of a full heavenly dish meal could cost more than an entire demonic beast carcass," she explained.
"Is that so?" Leyvi fell into thought.
Because of his seemingly endless internal storage space, he had stored numerous demonic beast carcasses inside, something others could not do due to the limited capacity of their spatial rings.
Since he had an abundance of them, why not use some to refill his heavenly food stock? Waiting a few days was not a big deal. He could settle other matters in the meantime.
"Alright, I have decided. Excuse me, I would like to order." Leyvi called out.
A lady stepped out from behind the counter and approached Leyvi’s table. She wore a collar around her neck.
Leyvi immediately knew she was one of Prince Charles’s captives.
"Yaa yaa. Our valuable customer, what would you like to order? You have seen the menu, right?" She said with a practiced, cheerful smile.
Huh? She... why does she look familiar? Oh right! She was one of the ladies who had traveled with Valenia back then. If she is here... then could the Spirit Gourmet Maestro be...
Leyvi’s spiritual sense spread discreetly toward the spacious kitchen in the back.
Sure enough, he saw the woman who had once stalked Valenia working diligently to prepare a heavenly dish.
Leyvi chuckled to himself. If he brought her to Valenia, that would be very amusing to watch.
