I can expand my MAGIC ENDLESSLY?!-Chapter 49: The Mana strings
This last sigil was something unique. It couldn’t even be called a spell,it was far from that. It was something that could be added to his main combat power, seamlessly enhancing it in ways he hadn’t considered before.
"Magnus watched Kairos closely, his chest swelling with pride as the boy studied the scroll for the fourth time."
"So, what do you say, Student? Satisfied enough?" Magnus asked, his voice tined with pride as he extended his right hand, revealing an intricate guard like mechanism wrapped around his forearm.
Kairos looked at it, instantly deciding he wanted that. "Is that included?" he asked directly.
Theon instantly smiled with joy within his mind if he could, he would shout out loud. Yes, he got it! His work will get recognized, Finally.
He hide it all behind that closed smile. "Student Kairos, but I can teach you to make your own." Theon spoke, pointing his hand towards the mug. He clenched his fists.
And a compartment within it opened, and strings of white escaped, gasping the hug.
Before he moved his hand in a specific motion. Instantly the white string turned to blue, and before the string’s gasping, the mug exploded.
String Ignition! Is what it’s called. Such a thing can be achieved with enough materials, but what made his different was. It wasn’t something physical. It was made by Mana!.
It wasn’t also a spell, it basically hardens mana just like how mana stones are created. But not hardening it fully at an exact level where it can grasp it properly and could still be ignited.
All of that happening within that small compartment. It was something terrifying. As later on. He found a more terrifying way to use that with someone else’s help.
A cannon is based on this same theory. That explodes with far more density. Fueled by cores.
One of the very things he did that made them lose lots of battles. Kairos wanted it. He wanted that now.
"What if I increase my worth?" Kairos spoke.
Theon frowned, not understanding. "What...
But his words were cut short by his own as he gazed at his hand. It was pulsating with a hint of red.
"You have Aura!..."
Kairos nodded, dissipating it. "Not just aura, I also have the Nullification sigil. You should have seen it."
He paused, glancing at others. ’I think I deserve that and more.’
Theon gulped, that was true. His calmness and decisive decision were already enough for him to gain better guides than him, not to mention he has the nullification sigil! A sigil that’s only available at the 5th circle.
And now with Aura. His worth skyrocketed. He looked at Kairos, then at the gauntlet.
He didn’t want to. As small as it looked, it took him a lot of things to make. He knows if Kairos shows it, his research will be put in the Sigil Library. An honor every mage wants to have. Still, he didn’t want to trade.
But now, seeing his potential. He sighed, taking off the gauntlet. Putting it in front of him.
Kairos smiled and grabbed it, putting it on his hand. It was a little big at first, but with the straps he easily adjusted it.
Theon felt some pain seeing his favorite toy, which was his a second ago, isn’t his anymore.
His eyes narrowed. No, he can’t let it be,he has to earn something too!.
He leaned forward, gasping, Kairos in theos in the other hand. "I gave you that, but promise me you will return it to me. I will help you make a better version of that." Theon spoke seriously.
Kairos didn’t speak. Truth be told, he was already expecting that. He nodded. "Ok, Master Theon. I promise."
Instantly a smile blossomed on Theon’s face. He quickly took out a small white vial, opening it quickly and injecting his mana into the dedicated box.
The color changed from green to blue, indicating he signed it. Before handing it to Kairos.
This was a magic contract. As someone’s mana signature is something hard to copy. Many uses that the traditional ways.
And being the Owsdin Academy. They use it despite its costing more. Kairos also placed his finger before injecting some mana within. His turned from green to red.
Theon felt happy seeing it. He did it he gained himself a student that’s sure to do well!.
He folded the scroll and put it away. He has to submit it at the academy.
"Do you want to start today?" Theon asked in a happy mood.
Kairos touched his stomach,he didn’t had the time to eat after what he saw at the Jelfs tower.
He was hungry, but it was manageable.
"Sure."
Theon nodded, standing up. "Come this way, let’s see how much you’ve progressed so far. You’re from the Nozvan family, let me see the practical use of it."
Kairos nodded. Guides are like personal trainer they are in charge of making their student the strongest. But still, deciding not to show everything spatially is an odd element, it’s way too powerful for his own good.
Kairos stood up and sat down in front of the transparent white ball. It will judge his progress.
He put his hand and started injecting Mana. Quickly the orb glowed, and intricate strings of patterns appeared on it.
That was his zeroth circle. As he focused, the smaller strings slowly disappeared, revealing a mass of thicker strings.
Theon right away started counting them all. Kairos also looked at them; that was his first circle, what he has finished so far.
Gazing at one’s magic circle isn’t possible, as it sounds like this. The orb is only showing the thickness and showing how many one has.
"You can stop, young master." Theon spoke, writing down a few details.
Kairos stopped as he was told. And looked at Theon as he pushed aside some of the instruments.
Revealing a white surface below. Kairos recognized it for what it was. Theon tapped on it, and a blue transparent box surfaced.
Before his whole, Mash of first circle appeared portraying. It was interactive. Known as the practice table.
Kairos also has one on his table. That’s how one actually practiced and remembers sigils, as paper was still considered a luxury product, and, moreover, practicing on it was far easier.
Although such tables aren’t that widely available depending on the region. Their prices vary.
Theon turned it over and over, focusing on it. Writing down a few things, Kairos can already gauge.
Soon he stopped, "mhmm."
"Student Kairos, you’re really something. I’m seeing very good potential here. You can easily reach the fourth circle.
Kairos nodded, looking at it. Unlike the zeroth circle, talent could be grasped a little, seeing the strings from now on. The thicker the lines, the thicker the natural talent for containing more strings of mana.
Though with the advancement of magic, this test is almost useless because alchemy has reached a level. Where potential can increase slowly.
Not quickly like geniuses but slowly for sure. But those kinds of things were expensive. Way more expensive. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
That’s why it was still a thing at the academy.
Kairos also felt good hearing that. That means he has natural talent but artificial through drinking potions.
He then handed down to him a paper and an ink pen. "Tell all about your mana signature. What did it look like? Was it too heavy or light? And your families’ mana technique effects and side effects."
"Also what you’re proficient at."
Kairos nodded. And held the pen. Through this, he would be able to guide him. He already knows which path he would suggest. But he wasn’t planning to go just the sword path.
He has to grasp magic. More complex magic for the upcoming future.
