Everyone stood up from their seats.

Miguel, Aaliyah and Edith turned their heads toward a certain direction almost at the same time.

’Cyanid Volcano?’

This thought emerged in Miguel’s head as he looked at the direction of the explosion. Aaliyah and Edith frowned at the sight of it.

Out there, dark smoke could be seen rising through the clouds.

"The Cyanid Volcano has erupted?" One elder stated as he looked at the direction in disbelief.

"How can this be? How did it erupt all of a sudden?"

"Quick, set up the countermeasures and protect the residence. Get ready for a beast tide to occur!"

Hearing that, the faces of the people present paled as they thought of that scenario.

An erupting volcano would normally not cause this much panic.

After all, Blazing Expanse was a place known for having many of them, active and inactive volcanoes alike.

However, as a much ’dormant’ volcano compared to the others, none of them thought that the Cyanid Volcano would erupt all of a sudden.

The reason why Blazing City was set-up here was because the volcanoes around it do not erupt.

At the very least, that was how everyone perceived it until now.

When a volcano erupts, there was a lot that needed to be considered.

Not only the environmental factors such as ashes and sulfur that would fly around, there was also the threat of a beast tide occurring.

Cyanid Volcano houses a lot of Wild Beast.

Imagine what would happen to those beasts if their house suddenly erupted, becoming inhabitable.

That would result in panic and mass migration. And when such a situation occurs, a beast tide, or a beast riot would surely occur.

A place much closer to the Cyanid Volcano, Blazing City would surely be run down by the wild beasts.

Any minute now, ashes would begin to fall in the city. The smell of sulfur would permeate the air, ordinary humans would have trouble breathing and this could become disastrous if not handled well.

Not only that, the threat of beasts was also imminent.

There was no time to dawdle.

The experts in the city immediately began to work.

The supposed academy tournament was halted at such great timing.

Though, none of the audience, even the teachers cared about it now. Their only thought was to go back home and prepare to fight, or leave to a much safer place.

Miguel and his two summoned beasts left the academy a moment later.

Alarms resounded all throughout the city, everyone was trying their best to do everything they could.

The City Lord released a statement, and issued a mission in the Adventurer’s Guild.

Stay in the city and defend to the end.

Mercenaries flooded to accept the commission.

A danger for others could be an opportunity for another one.

Miguel was also thinking the same.

This city could be run down by beasts for all he cares. For him, what mattered the most would be his and his loved one’s safety.

In the city, there were only a handful of people that he considered worth saving.

But way back home, Sarah was alone and weak. If this beast tide grew to a terrifying degree, there was a chance the beast tide would reach the village.

As someone who lived for thousands of years, he had witnessed a lot of disasters, man-made and not.

Beast riots or beast tides were not uncommon throughout the universe either, and he had experienced and faced countless of them before.

Most of the time, such a beast tide would always result in chaos and mass destruction.

The only way to actually prevent it was to cut the source of the chaos.

Unfortunately, this was easier said than done, especially if the cause of the riot itself was a natural disaster.

Miguel was curious, though.

How could a volcano, always calm and serene, suddenly erupt and explode violently without any prior sign?

He thought carefully and could not help but connect some recent memory toward Cyanid Volcano that he also found peculiar.

On his way here with Erika and the others, they encountered the Gold Rank Beast. According to what he knew, that beast actually came from Cyanid Volcano as well.

’Hmm... Didn’t the twin say that the location of that place they mentioned was also in Cyanid Volcano?’

Miguel could not help but think about the twin’s situation right now.

Thinking of that, Miguel also could not help but speculate that the Cyanid Volcano’s eruption might be all natural. There might be some man-made factors involved.

Looking above, Miguel saw that the sky had practically become smoke.

It almost looked like it would rain due to the thick black clouds above.

However, Miguel himself knew that this was not a sign of incoming rain, but ashes that rose through the air due to the explosion.

And at that moment, Miguel held out his hands as ashes began to fall and gather above it.

He used a flash step and reappeared at the top of Blazing City’s city wall.

North of Blazing City was where Cyanid Volcano was located.

The distance was not that far.

With his current speed, reaching there in twenty minutes would not be a problem.

As he looked ahead, he could not help but get an inexplicable feeling.

His senses were actually screaming for him to go forward.

Intuition was truly a strange and beautiful thing.

As Miguel understood it, intuition was the subconscious mind reminding the conscious mind about something.

Whether it was bad, or good, it was up to the person to interpret it.

"Do you guys want to check it out?" He asked the two beauties beside him.

Aaliyah and Edith did not answer with words.

However, Edith took out her sword, while Aaliyah bashfully held his hands while looking forward.

Both of them were determined. No matter what Miguel’s decision was, they would be up for it.

"Good!"

Miguel nodded his head as jumped off the city wall. The two beauties followed right after. Their figures disappeared into the woods.

Erika looked around as she felt the people’s panic around her.

"Not here huh..." her mood despondent as she realized Miguel was no longer on the platform.

In front, Victor was no longer in sight as well. He probably went back to his family, doing everything to prepare just like everyone else.

"I should get going and prepare too."
