Chapter 208: Truth

As the truth was revealed, everyone immediately realized that they had wronged Elder Journey.

So what if he killed inside the city? Killing the Dark Snake Assassins, wasn’t this considered a good deed instead?

One must note that the Dark Snake Assassin was extremely ruthless.

It could be said that a lot of people around had been their victim.

So, instead of blaming Elder Journey, shouldn’t they thank him instead?

They looked at the city lord with an unfriendly gaze. Even some of the guards were no longer on his side.

If he had only checked before blaming someone, would the commotion right now be even necessary?

The four elders were even more aggrieved.

What? Was it just a misunderstanding? Why didn’t you say it sooner?

Doesn’t this mean that they had sacrificed their innate beasts, and their arms for nothing?

They looked at the City Lord, Cardino as though asking for explanation.

Cardino was already pale at this moment.

The moment they discovered that all of them has a dark snake mark on the back of their hands, he knew that he was set-up by Elder Journey once again.

His mind worked and turned like crazy, searching for the best words to escape his current situation.

However, just as he prepared to speak, a commanding voice suddenly entered his ears.

"ENOUGH!"

Grand Patriarch Zuko no longer had the amiable tone he was always carrying earlier.

His voice was loud and vigorous, contrary to his old face and appearance.

Cardino’s hair stood on end. A suffocating feeling rose inside him.

Grand Patriarch Zuko ignored the city lord and turned to look at Elder Journey.

"It seems that this is all just a misunderstanding, Elder Journey. I sincerely apologize on behalf of the whole Red Family. Rest assured that your deed would not get buried," he announced loudly.

Even he himself found the assassin lurking inside his city quite troublesome.

Although he knew that this was vital for a city to get run properly, too much of them would also cause irreversible problems in the future. Hence, he was still happy about their death, even though it happened inside the city.

So what if it was inside the city?

Wasn’t he just enforcing justice?

HIs actions were justifiable.

Who said so? Said him, the Grand Patriarch, who made the rules a few years ago.

"It’s a pity that the leader and some other members managed to escape in advance. I still did not know if their assassninaton toward me was just their revenge, or if they were hired by someone else," Miguel lamented loudly.

He then turned to look at Cardino and said, "City Lord, if for instance you discover their whereabouts, you can simply call me directly and I’ll lend a helping hand. That is, if you want it, of course."

Him announcing this to the public meant a lot of things.

First, it was to declare his alignment and that although he was ruthless, he was not evil.

Next it was to declare that if someone really hired the assassins to kill him during the second instance, then he would not rest until he got to the bottom of it and got his revenge.

Although he was not evil, he was not a benevolent person either.

His methods have always been tooth for tooth. With this incident, it would even be more engraved in the minds of the people in Blazing City.

Aside from that, he also declared loudly to reassure the mastermind that he was not searching for them specifically.

It was another diversion tactic.

In fact, one of the reasons why he decided to kill the assassins this time was to lure the mastermind out.

He thought that if he went to the Dark Snake Assassin hurriedly, it would alarm the mastermind behind the scene who hired the assassin to kill everyone during that time.

With his hasty and unbridled actions, he thought that the mastermind would panic and would reveal themself unknowingly.

Unfortunately, it did not work.

Miguel observed those who responded to the scene.

Aside from Cardino who was adamant on trying to expel him as an elder, everyone acted normal and ordinary.

Of course, knowing that the mastermind has the skill of controlling another person, there was a high chance that they were here, he just was not aware of the identity of the ’proxy’.

As for his last sentence of trying to provoke the city lord, Miguel did it to scare him a little as well.

Even he himself that had just recently arrived in the Blazing City could get such high-end information easily.

He did not believe that the city lord did not have the ability to do so.

It was just that he was unwilling to deal with the assassin group personally as he could still use them to deal with inappropriate things that could not be done in public.

Hence the reason why he did not bother gathering information about them. As long as the Dark Snake Assassins stayed in their rightful place, he would not mind letting them stay and ’work’ in the Blazing City.

Anyway, after Miguel laid out the declaration, he looked at the Grand Patriarch Zuko and said, "Since the misunderstanding has already been resolved, I shall not linger in the vicinity any longer as I still need to rest after such a tiring battle."

He then turned to look at Damian and nodded his head toward him as a greeting.

His body then merged into the shadows and disappeared from everyone’s view.

Gasps of shock once again echoed in the surroundings.

So aside from controlling things from a distance, Elder Journey also has another skill that allows him to disappear in front of their eyes completely?

Just how many skills does he have?

Many questions lingered inside their mind. These were questions that could only be answered over time.

Grand Patriarch Zuko looked down at where he disappeared and seemed to have thought of something.

’Shadow Clan’s Innate Skill?’ He thought to himself in wonder.

Shaking his head, he turned to look at Cardino and commanded, "Deal with the aftermath. Do not bother with that elder again, you are not his match."

From the interaction earlier, how could he not tell that Cardino was specially hostile toward Elder Journey?

After seeing that, he moved his gaze toward the four injured elders.

Grand Patriarch Zuko sighed deeply as he summoned his grimoire.

A shiny Gold Grade Grimoire materialized in an instant in front of him. The pages turned automatically as Grand Patriarch Zuko pressed his palm in one of the pages firmly.

The next moment, a streak of light came out of the grimoire, materializing itself into a green butterfly the size of a palm.

All of this happened in an instant. The people present only realized what had happened after seeing the summoned beasts reveal itself.

"Heal them," Grand Patriarch Zuko stated calmly.

The green butterfly then flew toward the four elders.

It circled around them while using two of its skills.

Two types of butterfly dust were sprinkled toward them in an instant.

The next moment, a magical scene occurred.

Limbs started to grow in the empty arm of the two Martial Artists.

The eyes of the two summoners grew vigorous once more under the effects of the green butterfly.

Healing them both physically and mentally, the green butterfly returned to the Gold Grade Grimoire in a hurry as Grand Patriarch Zuko stored the grimoire inside his Inner World in an instant.

The people around witnessed the scene and thought that it was a miracle.

It was stated that only divine doctors had the capability to restore broken or cut limbs for their patients.

Although no one doubted Grand Patriarch Zuko’s strength, it was still mind blowing upon seeing it in person now.

"Recover well and make sure to increase your strength. As an elder of the Red Family, your guys’ strengths are truly embarrassing," he stated bluntly without caring for their feelings.

Although the four felt ashamed, they knew that the Grand Patriarch was just speaking facts.

The four of them nodded their heads. They did not want to linger in the area anymore as well so they bade farewell and left the cleaning to the city lord.

Grand Patriarch Zuko walked past Cardino who had his head hanging down in depression.

He walked toward Damian and Domen and told them to accompany him back to the Red Family headquarters.

Reuniting with his grandfather after a long time, Damian would obviously not reject his invitation.

Domen followed along, his burning gaze was directed towards his great grandfather.

He saw everything earlier with his own eyes.

He wanted to be like his great grandfather. He aspired to be as strong as him.

If he could take him as his teacher, won’t he be able to advance by leaps and bounds?

As they walked and chatted, the three of the gradually voiced their feelings.

Since Grand Patriarch Zuko was quite amiable, Domen was very blunt and asked if he could teach him a move or two.

Grand Patriarch Zuko nodded his head and agreed. He already had this plan anyway after seeing that he was quite talented.

"Right, great grandpa. Is Elder Journey really that strong? You seem to respect him a lot," Domen asked curiously.

Grand Patriarch Zuko thought for a moment before nodding his head.

"He is strong. I can tell that he was still holding a lot of his strength in the battle earlier."

"Then great grandpa, if you were to fight him, would you lose?" Domen asked worriedly.

Grand Patriarch Zuko smiled and fluttered his red hair.

"Silly child."

"Don’t worry, I’ll win!"
