I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 203: Disappointed
The ball of fire spewed by the Red-Eyed Hound signaled the start of the battle.
Edith was not idle and directly flashed above the Red-Eyed Hound.
Although the Red-Eyed Hound’s aura was just comparable to a Level 4 right now, Edith did not want to underestimate.
Even though the gap between levels was large, there would still be a chance of getting injured if she acted arrogantly.
Besides, she was not a beast that specialized in defense. She was a swordswoman. Dealing damage with precise strike was something she excels at.
Aside from her, Aaliyah had also started to attack the flying red sparrow that was flying above.
The red sparrow attacked with [Wing Dive]. However, unlike how Erika used it before, this red sparrow, or rather, its summoner were clearly more experienced.
Instead of diving head-on, it only brushes past Aaliyah and just used its wing to slice her body.
Unfortunately, Aaliyah was not to be trifled either.
Every time the red sparrow swoops down, Aaliyah would send a [Fireball] or [Fire Arrow] hurtling toward it. This caused the red sparrow’s trajectory to change every time, making it hard for it to even get close to Aaliyah, much less slice her with its [Wing Blade] skill.
The two Martial Artists were not idle either.
As they could not fly, and it was a bit troublesome jumping around to attack Aaliyah who was up in the air, they just decided to support the Red-Eyed Hound to attack Edith.
Unfortunately, Edith was quite swift and they were not able to get a hold of her at all.
In fact, it felt like Edith was merely playing as instead of using the blade of her sword, she would just hit them with the handle in the most opportune time, making them feel aggrieved. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Due to the enhancement of the other beasts, the Red-Eyed Hound’s defense was extremely tough. Fire surrounded its body as it kept on chasing on Edith who kept on using [Flash Step] as though she had infinite energy to squander.
This instance, Edith remained passive and just kept on dodging their attacks. Her counter-attack was not lethal and she would either just kick, or hit them with the handle of her sword. This was according to Miguel’s instruction so she could only follow.
In fact, if she had used any of her skills now, one of them might have already died aside from the Red-Eyed Hound that would take a little time.
Meanwhile, Miguel observed the battle with his hand pinching his chin with a thoughtful expression.
’So this is how the master summoner’s fight.’ he muttered to himself while observing the battle intently.
He looked over and saw that the two summoners were completely at the back. It seemed that they didn’t have any intention of joining the battle as they stayed inside their shield.
Both of them had a serious expression as they commanded their respective beasts using their telepathic connection.
Compared to Miguel who doesn’t need to order Aaliyah and Edith for every move, they were indeed inferior.
If this was how the summoners of this world truly fight, Miguel could not help but feel a little disappointed deep within himself.
Although he still lacked knowledge of this world, he could still gauge and judge that their way of fighting was very inefficient.
As time passed by, though, Miguel saw that their expression slowly turned grave. It seems that they realized the disparity between their beasts and his.
In terms of intelligence alone, Aaliyah and Edith were clearly stronger.
Due to their human forms, Edith and Aaliyah could maneuver easily and could even use weapons, unlike the two beasts that could only rely on their bodies to fight.
At this moment, the surroundings were already filled with fire and debris. The onlookers had retreated for a few more meters as the area around the amusement park had basically turned into a ruin.
Seeing such a scene, even Cardino felt a tang of pain in his heart. This was an area that generated a lot of income. How could he not feel the pinch now that they were destroyed. If they did not move the bodies earlier in advance, it would be apparent that they would also be burnt from the fire skills of the beasts fighting ahead of them.
Seeing that Master Nelson and his partners could not suppress Elder Journey’s beasts, a gloomy feeling could not help but rose inside Cardino’s heart.
Back in the battlefield, Miguel could not help but shake his head in disappointment.
Even though there was a level of difference, he could tell that Edith would still be able to suppress the Red-Eyed Hound even if they were on the same level.
He looked at Master Nelson and the female summoner and saw their ugly expressions while looking at the ongoing battle.
The two Martial Artists who were quite energetic were now panting heavily. There were a lot of bruises around their body. Each of them has a black-eye on their right eye, both were struck by Edith’s sword handle earlier.
Fear was apparent in their eyes as they looked at Edith as though she was an unbeatable monster.
Not only in level, they were also suppressed by her skills in swordsmanship. They simply could not follow the trajectory of her attacks, and every time they felt that they would be able to hit her, she would just twist her body and evade their attacks completely. Her attack would then rain down on them.
The handle of the sword hitting all over their bodies hurts like hell. Even though they were already almost a hundred years old, and were already quite old, they could still not help but scream like a little girl every time the handle of the sword struck them with force.
The Red-Eyed Hound was even more aggrieved.
It has already been enhanced by its companions.
Its battle capability should have already reached the limit of Level 4 by now. It was a whole additional level compared to its previous one. But even with that, it still had not managed to Edith except for her sword that she used to block one of its attacks.
Not to mention the Martial Artist, even though it felt that Edith was just toying with it.
Such actions made it enraged, but there was nothing it could do about it other than to howl in annoyance.
Its enemy was simply too fast and swift for it to hit.
It felt helpless... and afraid.
If the enemy decided to attack, would they have a chance?
In fact, this was what Master Nelson feared the most this time.
As the battle ensued, he realized that Edith was truly not normal.
Aside from being a humanoid beasts, it could use weapons and could teleport without end.
As a Master Rank Summoner, he was well aware of the energy consumption of high level beasts.
Even he himself could only support the Red-Eyed Hound to use its skills a few times being a Master Rank summoner and having a Silver Grade Grimoire.
HIs confidence dwindled to the bottom, realizing that they didn’t have a chance of winning.
The victory that he felt was so closed earlier, was now so distant in his eyes.
The next moment, the thing he feared the most finally happened.
Edith finally turned into offensive mode.
