Chapter 304: Blood Message

"It was foolish of the Redemption Sword to let you go. If they no longer need you, then the eastern plains are the solution."

Several team members whispered among themselves. Yuna stared forward, curious about what they were discussing without her.

One man stepped forward, stopping at a safe distance as he faced Ethan.

"Vice Leader Yuna is valuable to us. We don’t know what you’re thinking," the man said.

"However, if this is the only solution to avoid a battle in the central plains, then we have no choice but to agree."

Ethan released Yuna’s hand and stepped forward with a firm expression. "You know what you need to do?"

"We swear we will not make any hostile moves. We will send all of our city’s soldiers, both now and in the future, to assist LionArk."

Ethan smiled. That was more than enough for him. After hearing their agreement, Ethan turned around and walked back toward Lion City.

Yuna remained there, saying her goodbyes for a month to the man and all her team members.

Perhaps Ethan really could make his insane solution come true, no matter how he planned to do it.

For now, it was better for her to obey Ethan’s words than to have Ethan kill her.

Yuna left her city and followed Ethan. The man stood silently in front of thousands of troops and twenty four LionArk team members.

"Send one unit commander to guard their city. You have only one task, protect the city from outside invasions!"

"Do not act oppressively. Treat Sacred Hall’s team members well."

"They killed Star Shield! Why should we—"

"It was Scavenger who killed Star Shield, not Sacred Hall!" Ethan said firmly, cutting him off.

"LionArk has no hostility toward Sacred Hall. I will kill you if you start any hostility against them first," Ethan said coldly.

"Do you understand?"

"We understand, Captain."

Ethan turned his head and saw Yuna standing beside him. He introduced Yuna to all LionArk team members.

"She is my hostage. She will not be imprisoned, not harassed, and not harmed!" Ethan declared.

"Anyone who dares to do so, I will kill!" Ethan said firmly.

Several team members glanced at one another, then cleared their throats and nodded. Everyone obeyed Ethan.

No one dared to argue, as the gap in strength between them and Ethan was far too great.

Ethan ordered Laura to disperse the troops and send Unit Seven to remain on standby in Sacred Hall’s city. Laura complied.

Yuna and Ethan walked into Lion City, the city belonging to LionArk. It had desert region architecture, and its size exceeded that of Sacred Hall’s city.

"What... am I supposed to do?" Yuna asked, confused.

"Just follow me and listen to my orders," Ethan replied.

Ethan stopped along the city’s main road, which was crowded with people, soldiers, NPC residents, and team members alike.

Of all places, only the main road in front of the town center was the best location to send a message, if the live projection truly existed.

There was no ink, and even plain water dried too quickly. Ethan let out a breath. There was only one solution.

Blood.

Ethan asked for Yuna’s sword. Yuna handed it over in confusion.

"Clear the area!" Ethan commanded, and the patrolling city soldiers immediately obeyed.

SLASH!

Yuna looked shocked. The others reacted the same way. They all clearly saw Ethan slash his palm, letting his blood drip onto the city road.

"What are you doing?!" Yuna exclaimed.

"There’s no ink, no wood. Use blood as ink," Ethan said, wincing slightly in pain.

His blood flowed across the ground, forming words one by one. Everyone watched, yet not a single person stepped forward to help Ethan.

At LionArk headquarters, a member watching the live projection was stunned by Ethan’s actions. He was even more shocked when Ethan used his own blood to write words on the city road.

"Write those words down. I’ll call Miss Ashley!"

His colleague nodded. The man hurried up to the third floor and arrived at Ashley’s office. His rushed arrival caught Ashley’s attention.

"What is it?" Ashley asked.

"Sir Ethan. He... he’s sending a message using blood."

"What?!" Ashley shouted.

Without hesitation, Ashley rushed out and arrived at the front courtyard. Shockingly, many LionArk members were already there, including Gordon and Rick.

Gordon turned to look at Ashley, holding a sheet of paper containing the words recorded by a member from what Ethan had written.

Ashley looked at the paper, then focused on the live event projection screen. Ethan appeared to be fine. The last word written on the ground was "East."

"What is he actually doing?" Ashley asked, shocked and confused. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"SCH... KILL... RDMP... MOVE... EAST!"

Ashley read the words, but she did not understand their meaning. Gordon turned his head and looked at a woman wearing Sacred Hall’s distinctive uniform.

With Gordon’s intelligence, he immediately understood the first word.

"Sacred Hall!"

"Sacred Hall?" Ashley echoed.

Gordon asked for the paper again, studying it carefully while watching the live projection screen. He drew many possible conclusions from the five words.

"This could mean many things. Sacred Hall kills the Redemption Sword and moves east."

Rick turned his head. "That’s impossible! They wouldn’t be able to kill Arthur with their level of strength."

Gordon nodded, agreeing with Rick’s analysis. After all, the two of them had spent a year as officers in Redemption Sword.

Clearly, only the two of them in all of LionArk truly understood how strong Arthur was.

"Then what is it?" Ashley asked.

Gordon focused forward again, looking at Sacred Hall’s presence beside Ethan, even though Ethan knew Sacred Hall was allied with the Redemption Sword.

Gordon’s eyes widened when he arrived at the most plausible conclusion behind Sacred Hall’s representative being in Lion City and Ethan choosing not to kill her.

"Sacred Hall betrayed the Redemption Sword Alliance. That made the Redemption Sword want to kill them. So Sacred Hall moved east!"

"What?! Are you sure, Gordon?" Ashley asked.

"That’s the only possibility based on Sacred Hall’s representative being in Lion City, when previously Ethan killed enemy alliance spies in Lion City," Gordon explained.

"Yes, I saw that happen the other day."

Several LionArk members said the same. If Ethan did not kill Sacred Hall’s representative, that meant Ethan had found something beneficial for LionArk.

Only Gordon’s conclusion made sense.

"The best option is to go and communicate directly with Sacred Hall’s Guild Leader," Gordon said.

He turned and looked seriously at Ashley. "My guess is that Ethan is trying to protect Sacred Hall from Redemption Sword’s threat and invite them into the Eastern Alliance."

"We can’t underestimate this situation. Sacred Hall is an S Rank guild, currently ranked third."
