Chapter 183: Chapter 183: The Band-Aid is Really Ugly

Wei Ruolan was furious, “Hurry up and do it, catch her! Tie up her legs too.”

The men, upon hearing this, indeed went to capture Mu Lingyun, but by now, Mu Lingyun had already cut the ropes binding her hands with a blade.

Seeing those men coming at her, she leapt up, using her hands to maintain balance, and kicked the foremost one flying.

The men, taken aback, were shocked.

Before they could react, Lingyun quickly moved to Ji Luochen’s side, and with punch after punch, kick after kick, she knocked down those who were holding Luochen.

She chose to dispose of these men so quickly to prevent them from using Luochen to threaten her like they had just done before.

Then, she positioned Luochen behind her, kicking away anyone who approached.

Looking at Lingyun shielding him with her body, Ji Luochen frowned.

He swore that once they got out, he would become strong, become the person who could protect the girl before him.

In the end, Wei Ruolan brutally stated she would increase the reward for these thugs by a million, insisting that even if it cost them their lives, they must capture Mu Lingyun and Ji Luochen.

But just then, someone rushed in from outside, announcing, “The police are here, they’re here all the time! Run for it!”

Hearing this, the thugs scattered in all directions.

Seeing the turn of events, Wei Ruolan also tried to flee the scene but was ultimately caught by the police.

Apart from Wei Ruolan, many other thugs were also apprehended.

Seeing the situation under control, Lingyun turned around to untie the ropes binding Luochen’s hands.

“Are you hurt, do you need to go to the hospital?” Ji Luochen asked worriedly upon seeing the blood still flowing from the girl’s neck.

“It’s just a minor wound, nothing serious,” Lingyun said without much concern.

In her past life, she had suffered far worse injuries while battling in wars.

“I’m sorry,” Ji Luochen apologised again.

Seeing this, Lingyun smiled and said, “Are you silly? This isn’t your fault.”

Then, she suddenly threw herself into Luochen’s embrace, holding him and burying her head in his chest, whispering softly, “I may not need to go to the hospital, but I feel so tired. Let me lean on you, I want to sleep for a while.”

Upon hearing this, Luochen instinctively wrapped his arms around her slender waist.

“Hello, are you two alright?” A police officer came over and inquired of Luochen.

“It’s nothing, she’s just tired,” Luochen shook his head.

The officer nodded, “Then please follow us back to the station to file a report.”

“Alright,” Luochen agreed, carrying Lingyun horizontally as he followed the officer out of the abandoned factory.

On the way back, Luochen asked the officer for some iodine and adhesive bandages. He first disinfected the wound on Lingyun’s neck, then applied the bandage.

Using her phone as a mirror, Lingyun glanced at the bandage on her neck and noticed it was a dull gray, the plainest and most unremarkable kind.

So she coolly remarked, “This bandage is so ugly, I don’t want to wear it.”

Luochen couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and compassion, “Just use it for now, we’ll buy you a prettier one later, okay?”

He had never seen someone so particular about a simple bandage.

When she had been dealing with a bunch of thugs alone, she didn’t seem to be so fastidious.

“Fine,” Lingyun relented, having no other options.

As they were speaking, her phone rang, and the caller was Xiao Zhu’an.
