I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 113: A Great Performer (2)
"Leader! Don’t let her mess with your head!" one of the Black Fang members shouted, finally coming back to his senses. He looked nervous, almost desperate. "She might’ve poisoned you!"
Roxanna pressed her lips into a thin line, suddenly panicking. [I think I just made a stupid choice!] she screamed inside her head. [I should’ve used that skill to make him retreat, or to make sure he wouldn’t attack my tribe!]
[But instead I told him to kneel? Kneel?!] She nearly wanted to bury her face in her hands. [I didn’t even know I could act like such a narcissist!]
[What if he still attacks my tribe because he thinks—]
But her thoughts suddenly shattered when Jarva suddenly roared. "SHUT UP! HOW DARE YOU SPEAK SO RUDELY IN FRONT OF THE GREAT SHAMAN!"
Roxanna’s eyes twitched slightly because she didn’t expect that kind of reaction from him. Even his people didn’t expect it either.
Jarva’s chest rose and fell heavily, like he was trying to convince himself as much as he was trying to convince everyone else. His face was red with anger, but his eyes... his eyes weren’t only angry anymore, but they were shaken.
He clenched his fists so hard his knuckles turned white, then snapped his head toward his own warrior.
"Poison?" he barked. "Are you stupid?! Do you think I would kneel so easily?! Even if I was poisoned, I would never kneel before anyone!"
The Black Fang warriors stiffened at his words. They immediately lowered their heads, not daring to argue.
But Jarva’s hands were still trembling because deep down, he knew the truth.
It wasn’t poison. It was something else. Something he couldn’t understand, something that felt above him.
Roxanna stayed calm, even though her heart was beating fast inside her chest. [Wait... is this actually working?] she thought. [He really believes it...]
Roxanna actually wanted to immediately tell Jarva to leave the Vixeria Tribe, but then she remembered that the system wanted her to turn her enemy into her ally.
To be honest, she didn’t like the idea of forming a relationship with the Black Fang Tribe. After all, they had enslaved so many people, and they had hurt too many innocent beastkins. Their list of sins was so long that if Santa ever heard about it, he probably wouldn’t even dare to go near their chimney.
But if she could turn him into her ally, then she wouldn’t need to worry about the Black Fang Tribe attacking her in the future anymore.
"Oh, great shaman! We made a mistake, so we will leave this place right now!" Jarva suddenly said. His voice sounded panicked, like he couldn’t think straight anymore.
Roxanna blinked several times because she didn’t expect to see a cocky tiger turn into a scaredy cat.
"Do you think we’ll just let you leave after you almost raided us?" Zeir suddenly spoke up. His voice sounded so cold, almost like it could surpass the coldness of snow. "You need to atone for your mistake."
"What mistake?!" Jarva shouted. "We haven’t even stepped into your settlement!"
Right now, he truly looked like a cat that couldn’t stop hissing because it was terrified.
A moment later, Roxanna suddenly heard someone speaking not far behind her. "If you want to lie, at least lie properly!"
Before she could turn around, a head was suddenly thrown past her and landed not far from her feet.
The eyes on that head stared straight at Roxanna, as if it were still alive and demanding accountability from her.
Honestly, Roxanna didn’t like that sight at all and even wanted to run away like a headless chicken right away. But since she had to maintain her image as a great shaman, she forced herself to stay still, even though her body was shaking inside.
Her fingers quickly grabbed Azul’s arm, gripping it tightly, like it was the only thing stopping her from running.
"I found him sneaking into our house!" Luan walked toward the gate. His hair was still messy, like he had just rolled out of bed.
"Fuck, it’s Vino—! That bastard killed Vino!!"
The moment they saw the head Luan had thrown, the Black Fang Tribe exploded into chaos. "That’s Vino!"
"Leader, that bastard killed your brother!"
Oh, what a wonderful day to be alive.
Roxanna stared up at the sky with a blank look on her face.
After all her effort—after acting like a great shaman, after using her one-time skill—Luan had just killed Jarva’s brother.
How was Jarva supposed to think clearly now? Who could stay calm after seeing their family member murdered?!
But as if that wasn’t bad enough, Luan suddenly poured salt water into the fresh wound. "Oh, that’s your brother? No wonder he’s so ugly."
Then he shrugged. "Anyway, don’t blame me. He disturbed my sleep, after all. I can get violent when someone suddenly puts a sword to my neck while I’m sleeping."
Oh, now Roxanna was the one who exploded.
Her eyes narrowed, and she pointed straight at Jarva like a furious little fox queen. "How dare you let your ugly brother try to kill my husband!" Roxanna snapped. She even kicked the head like a ball to express her anger.
[I almost lost my Luan! I will never forgive them!] Roxanna spoke in her mind.
She turned toward Luan and patted his cheeks. "Luan, are you hurt?"
Luan looked like he was about to answer normally, but then he cleared his throat and tilted his head slightly, acting all weak. "The sword injured my neck," he said seriously. "I think I need a kiss."
The corner of Azul’s eyes twitched slightly because the wound on Luan’s neck was only a tiny scratch!
What a sneaky little kitty!
Fortunately, before Roxanna could show any public affection, Jarva spoke again, "This bastard is not my brother! He’s just a bastard who refused to obey my command!"
"Oh, great shaman, please don’t bring down your curse on me and my people!" He slammed his face onto the ground, moving as if he were worshipping Roxanna.
Luan frowned, then looked at Azul as if he wanted to ask, ’Who’s the great shaman?’
