I Became The Tower Master-Chapter 9 - : The Birth of the Evil Saint
Chapter 9: Chapter 9: The Birth of the Evil Saint
The trio stood at the entrance to the fifth floor, the air thick with anticipation. Alden's mind was already racing, his smirk hidden beneath a mask of calm. Finally, I can take a break after this floor and go back to the real world. But first, I need to start my scenario: Fallen Hero Act 2 – Sacrifice to Heaven. Let's see how this plays out.
Hiroshi, ever the optimist, was practically vibrating with excitement. "This is our chance to prove ourselves! When we gain a gods sponsorship, we'll be unstoppable!"
Eva nodded, her eyes shining with admiration. "You're right, Hiroshi. Together, we can do anything!"
Alden resisted the urge to groan. Hold it in. Hold it in. Breathe in and breathe out. I might start goat yoga and sip some tea to regain my calm. Or maybe I'll just sacrifice Eva and call it a day.
In the 100th floor of the tower, the gods' council convened. The air crackled with divine energy as the eleven gods observed the climbers below.
Zeus leaned back on his throne, his thunderbolt crackling in his hand. "That Hiroshi boy shows promise. His determination is admirable."
Poseidon nodded, his trident glowing faintly. "And the girl, Eva. Her potential is untapped. With the right guidance, she could become a formidable force."
Hades, scoffed. "Potential means nothing if they can't survive the trials. Let's see if they make it past the fifth floor before we get too excited."
Aphrodite, lounging gracefully on her throne, smiled. "Oh, but they're so charming! Especially Eva. I might just sponsor her myself... once she reaches Level 10, of course."
The other gods murmured their agreement, their eyes fixed on the climbers. But then, something unexpected happened.
Astron, the God of Space and Dimensions, who had remained silent until now, raised his finger. A single drop of shimmering light dripped from his fingertip, disappearing into the void. Only the gods could see the divine essence as it traveled through dimensions, appearing above Alden's head. When the drop touched him, a notification appeared:
[You have been offered a sponsorship to become the Saint of the God of Space and Dimensions, Astron. Do you accept? Yes/No]
The gods turned to Astron, their expressions a mix of surprise and curiosity.
"Sponsoring someone already, Astron?" Odin asked, his one eye narrowing. "Isn't it a bit early in the game?"
Astron smirked, his voice calm but laced with amusement. "I see potential where others see only chaos. Alden is... unique. And I have a feeling he'll make things interesting." Man, I have to keep spouting nonsense like this with a straight face to maintain the previous image of Astron.
The gods exchanged glances, some intrigued, others skeptical. But none could deny that Astron's move had shaken things up.
Alden stared at the notification, his smirk widening. Finally. A way out of this mess. Without hesitation, he selected "Yes."
[Congratulations! You have become the Saint of the God of Space and Dimensions, Astron.]
[Title Acquired: Saint of Space and Dimensions]
[Skill Unlocked: Space Manipulation (SSS Rank)]
Current Ability: Void Displacement (Unlock Requirement: Level 10)
Description: Alter the distance between object A and object B by increasing or decreasing it. The further the distance, the more mana is required. Higher levels reduce mana cost and increase range.
Alden's mind raced as he absorbed the information. This skill is perfect. With Void Displacement, I can manipulate the battlefield, create openings, and... eliminate obstacles.
Curious about his updated status, Alden summoned his status window:

Not bad, Alden thought, his smirk widening. With this, I can finally start pulling the strings without anyone noticing. Time to put this to good use.
He glanced at Eva and Hiroshi, who were chatting with each other. Time to test this out.
The fifth floor was a desolate wasteland, the sky a swirling mass of dark clouds. The ground was cracked and barren, and the air was thick with the scent of decay. In the distance, a massive fortress loomed, its walls lined with monstrous guardians.
"This place gives me the creeps," Eva said, shivering slightly.
Hiroshi placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Eva. We'll get through this together."
Alden rolled his eyes. Here we go again.
As they approached the fortress, the guardians sprang to life, their eyes glowing with malevolent light. The trio prepared for battle, their skills honed from previous trials.
But Alden had other plans. Time to put my new skill to the test.
He activated Void Displacement. Whoa, the mana consumption of this skill is no joke, Alden thought, after feeling half his mana drain, selecting Eva as Object A and Hiroshi as Object B. The skill worked by subtly altering the spatial distance between the two, increasing the distance between them without either noticing. To them, it would feel like they were moving naturally, but in reality, Alden was pulling the strings.
Eva didn't notice at first, too focused on supporting Hiroshi. But as the distance grew, she found herself isolated, surrounded by enemies.
"Hiroshi!" Eva screamed, her voice filled with panic.
Hiroshi turned, his eyes widening in horror. "Eva! Hold on, I'm coming!"
Alden, while acting like he's holding back a guardian, thought, Some popcorn and music would make this a tear-dropping scene.
But it was too late. The guardians closed in, and Eva's barriers shattered under the onslaught. Alden watched with a cold, calculating gaze as Hiroshi fought desperately to reach her.
I hope he doesn't break. Don't let me down, Hero. The world's fate depends on you.
