I Became the Mother of His Child-Chapter 526: The Path of Doting on My Wife Without Return
Song Chengguang, Song Chenhao, and Song Chenxi, three siblings, had actually been subjected to their father Song Yuanhuan's submissive nature from a very young age. Honestly, if you were to say that Song Chengguang and Song Chenhao were overprotective of their sister, and Song Yuanhuan was wholly devoted to his daughter, then calling him henpecked wasn't at all an exaggeration.
The Song family's three siblings had all been instilled with one idea by Song Yuanhuan, which was that they could provoke anyone but must never provoke Xu Xiuxiu. Having witnessed Song Yuanhuan's temper when angry, they all behaved well and were obedient. However, what they did not expect was that the next generation of children would fall into the same pattern.
Little Jinzi was the family's first treasure. She was pampered from a young age, and later on, when the adorable Little Dudu joined the family, her position was never shaken. After that, the family welcomed Song Chengguang's Little Taixu, and Little Jinzi became the elder sister of two younger brothers.
"Jiejie..." Little Taixu had just learned to walk and was not yet articulate.
Perhaps it was inherited from their father's overprotectiveness, but the two little boys were also extremely attached to their sister. Little Taixu, especially, hadn't even learned to call momma but managed to first address Little Jinzi as jiejie. Though he said "Jiejie," his pronunciation wasn't accurate, which made quite a few people feel sore.
"It's jiejie, not Jiejie..." Jinzi patiently corrected the pronunciation of the plump Little Taixu.
"Jiejie..." Little Taixu grinned and stuck to his opinion.
"...You're so dumb, no matter how much I teach you." Little Jinzi clenched her jaw in frustration.
"Jinzi, your little brother is still young, you can't call him dumb." Xu Xiuxiu, who had been watching them for a while, disagreed and reminded her granddaughter.
"Grandma, I know! But Little Taixu can say so many words now, why does he still call me Jie Jie? I'm not a piece of bamboo cut into sections." Little Jinzi felt she was being called by her cute little brother as Jie Jie, but the key issue was, no matter how patiently she corrected Little Taixu's pronunciation, he stubbornly continued to say Jie, not planning to change at all, which was both discouraging and upsetting for her.
"Your little brother is young, you need to be patient." Xu Xiuxiu continued to advise.
"I got it, Grandma. I'll patiently teach Little Brother."
The affection among the three Song siblings had always been strong; they did not fight and create trouble as other children might. To be honest, Xu Xiuxiu had become accustomed to her own children's good behavior, but she recently noticed that her three grandchildren were not the same.
"Little Taixu, can you not mix your chewed cookies with your playdough? It's disgusting!" Little Dudu was now almost four years old, a little over a year older than Little Taixu, and was both smart and squeamish. He was annoyed that Little Taixu kept kneading his long-chewed cookies into his playdough.
"I want to." Little Taixu pouted arrogantly, sporting a how-will-you-deal-with-me demeanor.
"Are you dumb? You never learn what I teach you, you always do exactly what I tell you not to do..." Little Dudu lost his temper and involuntarily slapped Little Taixu's hand on the back. Although Little Dudu was young and didn't truly mean to hit his little brother, his lack of control due to his age resulted in Little Taixu's hand turning red.
"Wuwu..." Little Taixu pursed his lips, looked at his reddened hand, gathered tears for a while, and then burst out crying.
Although Little Taixu was not yet steady on his feet and babbled in an adorable manner, he had a high-pitched voice from a young age that could drive someone to madness.
"What's wrong now? What happened again?" Xu Xiuxiu, who had been rather worry-free thanks to Song Chengguang and the others, had never really experienced what it meant to have truly troublesome children. Now, she found herself quite troubled by her three grandchildren, who didn't get along well. And in just a moment of inattention, Little Taixu started crying.
"Come here, Dudu hit..." Little Taixu, crying, trotted over to Xu Xiuxiu, holding up his little hand as he complained.
"It's not like I did it on purpose. Little Taixu, you crybaby, you're not being manly..." Little Dudu spoke from behind, feeling both innocent and guilty, and then defiantly criticized Little Taixu again.
"Yes." Little Taixu sniffled and responded.
"No, a real man wouldn't cry..." Dudu retorted disdainfully.
"Yes, yes." Little Taixu didn't seem to understand whether he had grasped what Dudu was saying or not, just biting his teeth and agreeing reluctantly, then with a face full of indignation and unwillingness.
"Grandma, it was Little Taixu. He squashed the cookie into the playdough again." Little Jinzi came over to explain to Xu Xiuxiu.
But looking at Little Dudu and Little Taixu, who both seemed utterly convinced of their own stories, Xu Xiuxiu just felt helpless. This drama that unfolded every weekend, when would it ever stop?
"Little Taixu, is it like your sister said? Did you squash the eaten cookies into the playdough?" Xu Xiuxiu asked Little Taixu.
"Wah, bad, bad..." As soon as Xu Xiuxiu asked, Little Taixu burst into tears, muttering 'bad' over and over.
Xu Xiuxiu felt helpless and had a headache. This domineering little ancestor had done something wrong and refused to admit it, just bursting into tears, crying in a way that left others with no way to deal with him. This kind of act was not the first time; Xu Xiuxiu felt so exhausted in her heart at being a grandmother!
So, she passed the job of settling the issue among the three mischievous children to Song Yuanhuan.
"Everyone stand properly!" Song Yuanhuan ordered the three little ones in the house to line up in the study.
Nowadays, the authority figure had a lot on his plate and, when facing his grandchildren, would occasionally soften a bit, but mostly he was still hard as nails. Song Yuanhuan, especially when dealing with the three kids, was very strict, particularly with Little Taixu, a law unto himself. But wasn't he now being disciplined by Song Yuanhuan?
Why? Because Song Yuanhuan was the only person who could keep his composure even when Little Taixu cried until he hiccupped and his face turned red and his ears hot.
The three children, already having had a lesson, faced their stern-faced grandfather and had settled down.
"Do you know where you went wrong?"
"..." The three children fell silent.
"Will you argue in front of your grandmother again in the future and upset her?" Song Yuanhuan continued to inquire.
The children shook their heads in silent agreement. They joked to themselves, 'Grandpa, do you not know how intimidating your stern face is?' They would have to have the courage of bears and leopards to challenge their grandfather who treasured their grandmother so dearly.
"What is your goal?" Song Yuanhuan asked.
"To make grandma happy and joyful!" they replied in unison.
"Can you all do it?" Song Yuanhuan looked at them, his gaze filled with threat and skepticism.
"We can!" The three children straightened their backs and nodded vigorously.
It was said, facing a man who doted on his wife and couldn't bear to see his grandmother the slightest bit unhappy, the grandchildren would obediently listen and not fight anymore—and definitely not argue in front of their grandmother!
"What if you do it again?"
"..." The three children were baffled.
"If you do it again, I'll kick your fathers and mothers out of the house..."
