I Became the Little Demon in Leading Role's Family-Chapter 160 - 161 Do you have contact information for Nan Jin?
Chapter 160: Chapter 161 Do you have contact information for Nan Jin?
Bai Zhi still hadn’t moved; she just stood at the door, watching them.
"Why should I help?" Bai Da looked as if he couldn’t wait for her to slavishly serve them. She’d be mad to go help.
It was actually Ye Xiu who went over and helped Bai Da up before turning to the group pet.
"Nan Xi, could you step outside for a bit? I have something to discuss with him."
Ye Xiu’s tone wasn’t exactly cold; it was just very ordinary, though not particularly warm.
The group pet’s nose tingled, unable to accept this indifferent Ye Xiu; she, covering her mouth, ran out.
Ye Xiu furrowed her brows. What was that about?
"Xingxing, could you wait outside for me?"
Ye Xiu hadn’t finished, but Bai Zhi had already turned around.
"I’ll be right outside; call me if you need anything."
Once outside, Bai Zhi leaned against the wall nearby, ready to rush in at any moment.
Ye Xiu’s nose tingled. Was Xingxing afraid her elder sister would be bullied?
She felt warm inside but she believed that Bai Da wouldn’t hurt her. She still had that confidence.
The group pet, upon running outside and finding that Bai Zhi hadn’t followed, felt colder still. Was it that her sister could listen, and she couldn’t?
The group pet felt that perhaps this family truly couldn’t accommodate her anymore. What should she think to change all this?
The group pet exited the house and walked farther and farther away...
She didn’t know what to do, but she knew she had to do something.
...
"Do you know Nan Jin’s contact information?"
Ye Xiu didn’t beat around the bush but directly got to the point.
She had heard it all—Bai Da said Nan Jin would come back. If they hadn’t been in contact for so many years, how could he possibly know?
Since there was contact, then it’s only natural to have him take Nan Xi back with him, isn’t it?
Without Nan Xi, perhaps, everything might calm down a bit. She actually didn’t hope for her family to become strangers, even if there was a slim chance.
Upon hearing this, Bai Da’s pupils contracted; his gaze flickered violently as he tightly clenched his hands, forcibly suppressing his emotions before finally beginning to speak slowly.
"Xiuxiu, why did you suddenly ask for Nan Jin’s contact information?"
Even though he tried to appear normal, his expression was, in fact, quite awful.
It looked as if he was intensely uncomfortable, yet he insisted on pretending to be happy. Anyone with discernment could tell it was an act.
Put nicely, it was pitiable; put bluntly, it was just pretense.
And it was the kind of pretense that wasn’t convincing at all.
Bai Zhi thought, perhaps the group pet had learned her skills from him?
How could Ye Xiu not see the awkwardness in Bai Da? In the past, he would get jealous over any man, but after improving a bit, it seemed he was still the same.
"As long as he’s still around and living well, I wondered if it might be better for Nan Xi to go back. Our family isn’t doing well, and she probably misses her biological father too."
Ye Xiu’s words were logical, and she spoke with an even tone.
However, in Bai Zhi’s view, this matter was actually not so great.
How to put it—Bai Da, Bai Yu, and Bai Ye had been wholeheartedly kind to the group pet for a long time; mentioning these things now was like a stab to the heart.
Or perhaps...
Bai Zhi narrowed her eyes; was Ye Xiu trying to force Bai Da to choose between his wife and his beloved daughter?
Bai Da was taken aback, as if he had just let out a sigh of relief, only for it to be immediately caught back in his throat.
"Xiuxiu, I don’t have his contact information. What I said earlier was just to put Xixi’s mind at ease."
