Chapter 341: Tempted

Lu Wen’s heart was in her mouth. She stared at the man at the door, his chest exposed and his hair dripping wet. After a while, she covered her eyes as he glared at her. “I’m sorry, President Lian. I didn’t know that you were taking a shower. I didn’t see anything!”

Lian Jing glanced at her coldly before shifting his gaze to Lian Meng. “What’s the matter?”

Lian Meng had already suffered a violent shock when Lu Wen had dared to heedlessly knock on the door. She opened and her mouth a few times before she managed to squeak out, “Brother, it-it’s nothing! I’ll go back to sleep now!”

“Wait!” Shen Yin, who was wrapped in a bathrobe, stuck her head out of the door. When she saw Lian Meng, she grabbed Lian Meng’s wrist like a drowning man clutching at straws. “Let’s go inside and talk. Anyway, your brother and I don’t plan to sleep yet.”

“No, no, no.” Lian Meng shook her head vigorously. Seeing her brother’s expression darken, she desperately pulled her arm back. “I had better go to sleep. I’m tired, Sister-in-law! I’m really tired!”

Shen Yin shook her head as if she had not heard her and dragged her into the room. “No, you must have something to say. Come in and talk. If I don’t hear what you have to say, I won’t be able to rest easily tonight.”

Lian Meng was about to burst into tears, but she was not touched by Shen Yin’s warm concern. Instead, she was frightened by her brother’s expression. She used all her strength to cling onto the door frame and vigorously shook her head at her brother. “Brother, I really didn’t do it on purpose. You saw what happened. I have no choice!”

Lian Jing curled his lip and sneered. He turned around and walked into the room without a word. His entire body exuded a strong aura that said, “If you come in, you’ll die.”

However, Shen Yin refused to miss such a good opportunity to avoid Lian Jing’s pestering. She dragged Lian Meng into the room and was about to close the door when out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly saw a young lady standing outside the door. It was girl whom Lian Jing had refused to allow to pour tea for him.

Seeing that she had finally noticed her presence, Lu Wen bit her lower lip and said with a troubled expression, “Miss Shen, I saw that President Lian’s hair hasn’t dried. If he goes to sleep like that, I’m afraid he’ll catch a cold tomorrow morning. If you need my help, feel free to instruct me.”

Shen Yin was stunned for a moment. For some reason, she did not want other women to get close to Lian Jing. She rejected Lu Wen without a second thought. “No need, thank you. He can dry his hair himself.”

With that, she slammed the door shut, leaving Lu Wen alone, outside the closed door.

Lu Wen was stunned as she looked at the empty corridor in front of her. In the past, she had worked as a waitress and she had seen Lian Jing before, but she had only glanced at him from afar and did not dare to approach him. Now she was so close, and she had seen Lian Jing right after his shower, when he was not even properly dressed. She could not help but blush and her heart beat faster.

If Fu Ting was a playboy who made women shy, then Lian Jing was a top-notch man that drew innocent girls.

Lu Wen admitted that the moment she saw Lian Jing, her gaze had followed the water that trickled past his open collar and dripped to a private area.

She would rather go against Old Master Lian’s wishes and seduce Lian Jing rather than Fu Ting.

The next day, Lian Jing was fastening his cuff-links as he went downstairs. He saw Lu Wen busying herself in the dining room.

When Lu Wen heard footsteps, she gently pushed back her hair and smiled sweetly. “Good morning, President Lian. Breakfast is almost ready. Please sit down and wait for a moment.”

Lian Jing put down his hand and narrowed his eyes. “Didn’t you hear what I said yesterday?”

Lu Wen turned pale before she nodded and said, “I understand, but I’m still a servant whom Old Master Lian hired. It’s my duty to take care of the entire Lian family.”

Lian Jing sneered and turned to sit on the sofa to read the letters that the butler had received that morning.

Lu Wen sneaked a glance at Lian Jing’s back. Seeing that he no longer rejected her, she snickered and secretly praised herself for being smart. Then, she held a teacup and carefully approached him. “President Lian, please have some tea first.”

She held the teacup with both hands and handed it to him, but he did not reach out to take it. Her arm froze awkwardly in mid-air, but she could not retract her hand. She could only brace herself and hold the cup nearer to him.

“President Lian, your tea.”

As she lowered her eyes, she saw that the man’s long legs were crossed. His black suit accentuated his long legs, and the tips of her ears instantly turned red.

However, before she could continue to fantasize about him, she heard the man in front of her suddenly laugh with an intoxicating charm. “Fu Ting, it seems that your servant likes to serve me.”

Lu Wen realized that he had said something in his gentlest voice and her heart skipped a beat. She quickly lowered her head and retracted her hand that was holding the tea. She explained, “I just saw President Lian sitting here alone without anyone to pour tea for him. I thought it seemed rude, so I came over to make tea.. I didn’t have any other motive!”
