I Became My Elf King Character In A Game-Like World-Chapter 16: Getting Gold Coins
Chapter 16 - Getting Gold Coins
The goblin nest had been completely wiped out by the elven army. Not a single creature remained, and the spoils of war were being collected in an orderly fashion.
Large amounts of gold coins were gathered and packed into wooden crates, each box filled to the brim before being carried out of the cavernous nest.
The sound of clinking coins echoed through the tunnels as the elves worked tirelessly to transport the wealth back to their territory.
Lorien's eyes sparkled with excitement as she held up a handful of precious gemstones, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.
"My Lord, the goblins were unbelievably rich! This is just one of their nests, yet we've already seized over a hundred thousand gold coins! And look at these—" She eagerly presented the gemstones to Renjiro.
Nestled in her palm were a dozen dazzling gems, each radiating a mesmerizing glow under the torchlight.
There were brilliant rubies, deep blue sapphires, vivid emeralds, and even a few rare amber-colored gems. Their flawless surfaces reflected the light, making them look almost magical.
Renjiro glanced at them briefly before nodding. "Keep them for now. Once we return, store them in the treasury." His tone was calm, but there was an unmistakable weight behind his words.
On the Sacred Continent, gemstones were not just decorative ornaments for noblewomen to flaunt.
They were highly valued for their magical properties, capable of being embedded into weapons and armor to enhance their power.
This unique trait made them a sought-after commodity, driving their prices to sky-high levels. Nobles would willingly spend fortunes just to obtain a single high-quality gem.
Renjiro smirked. "When the next human trade caravan arrives, we'll sell these gemstones to them at an exorbitant price."
Throughout history, elven merchants had always been at a disadvantage when dealing with human trade caravans.
The elves relied on these caravans to purchase fresh fruit and honey—goods that were not easy to produce in large quantities within the elven domain.
Because of this, the humans took advantage of their dependency, offering lower prices for elven goods while demanding higher prices for their own.
But this time, things would be different.
Renjiro had no intention of letting the human merchants exploit them any longer.
Elaria, standing beside him with her hair cascading down her back, folded her arms and scoffed. "Hmph. Human merchants are greedier than goblins."
Renjiro chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "They are, but not this time. We no longer need their fruits and honey. If they want our gemstones and elven-crafted weapons, they'll have to pay in gold."
Elaria tilted her head slightly, her pale eyes filled with curiosity. "But, My Lord, if we stop buying fruit and honey from the humans, what will we eat?"
Renjiro's lips curled into a confident smile. "Don't worry. I've already made arrangements."
Elaria nodded without hesitation. She didn't need any further explanation—she trusted Renjiro's judgment completely. Whatever plan he had in mind, she believed it would work.
With a casual wave of his hand, Renjiro stored all the collected gold coins into his system. He already knew what he was going to do with them. As soon as they returned, he would begin constructing the Elunarian Spring.
The Elunarian Spring was a sacred structure capable of producing Water of Life, a miraculous liquid that could sustain elves without the need for conventional food.
Not only would it keep them nourished, but it would also enhance their magical abilities, strengthening their entire race.
Once the Elunarian Spring was built, fruits and honey would become nothing more than luxury treats—no longer essential for their survival.
Did the human merchants still believe they could hold the elves hostage over something as trivial as food?
They were sorely mistaken.
Renjiro's gaze shifted toward the distant horizon. "By my estimation, the human trade caravan should be arriving soon."
Elaria gently wrapped her hands around his arm, leaning in slightly with a soft smile. "You're right, My Lord. The human Trade Caravan always arrives at the end of each month without fail. That means we have exactly seven days before they reach our territory."
Renjiro's eyes gleamed with determination. "Seven days? That's more than enough time for me to destroy the entire Goblin Territory."
With the battlefield cleared and all valuables secured, Renjiro turned to his army of elite elven warriors. "Spread out. Sweep through the forest and eliminate every last monster that lurks within."
The elves immediately obeyed, fanning out in groups to hunt down the magical beasts that roamed the wilderness.
Renjiro stood still for a moment, inhaling the crisp night air.
Magical beasts were one of the native species of the Sacred Continent. Their strength was classified into different ranks, ranging from Circle 1 to Circle 9, followed by stronger titles and power..
• Circle 1 to Circle 3 were considered low-ranked magical beasts, weak and easily hunted.
• Circle 4 to Circle 6 were mid-ranked magical beasts, significantly stronger and more dangerous.
• Circle 7 to Circle 9 were high-ranked magical beasts, possessing intelligence comparable to humans.

And so on...
Unlike other races on the Continent, magical beasts had a unique trait—they carried magic cores within their bodies.
These cores were second only to precious gemstones in value and were highly sought after.
Just like gemstones, magic cores could be embedded into weapons and armor, greatly enhancing their power.
Renjiro saw this hunt not just as a way to strengthen his forces but also as an opportunity to profit. The magic cores they collected could either be used to enhance their own equipment or sold to human trade caravans for a hefty sum.
To Renjiro, anything that could earn gold was worth pursuing for he can do anything as long as he posses the sufficient gold coins...
As dusk approached, the Dark night Forest was already shrouded in shadows. Unlike the outside world, where night fell gradually, the thick canopy of ancient trees caused darkness to descend much faster here.
Even though the sun had yet to set, the entire forest was already enveloped in twilight.
