I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 525 Parents meeting (19)
"Ranking is not everything," she reminded them gently, looking around at all the little faces. "You all did your best. That is what matters. Whether you came first or eighth or anywhere in between, you tried, and you learned, and you grew."
Drake nodded dramatically, his whole body moving with the gesture.
Boo nodded even more dramatically, floating up and down in the air.
Then Boo suddenly straightened, as if a revolutionary thought had just struck him like lightning. His eyes widened. His mouth opened. His tail went still.
"Yes, yes," he said wisely, lifting one finger in the air like a philosopher about to change history forever. "Anyway... we are first."
The room went quiet.
Drake froze mid-tail swing.
Alina blinked, confused.
Sir Santo slowly turned his head toward Boo, his silver-gold eyes curious.
"First?" Felix repeated flatly, one eyebrow rising.
Boo nodded proudly, his expression serious. "Yes. First... from last."
There was a full two seconds of absolute silence.
Then Drake’s eyes widened with enlightenment, like a candle being lit in darkness.
"Ohhhhh!" he gasped, slapping the table with both hands. "That means we are first backwards! First in reverse! First if you count from the bottom!"
"Exactly!" Boo declared, floating a little higher again, his chest puffed with pride. "Perspective, my dragon friend. Perspective! It is all about how you look at things!"
Several parents burst into laughter at once, the sound filling the room like music.
Pyrra leaned back in her chair, laughing openly. "That is one way to see it. Very optimistic."
Alpha Ryker shook his head slowly with amusement, a rare smile crossing his usually serious features. "Creative thinking. Unconventional."
General Yuki murmured quietly to those near her, "Dangerously creative. This is how new philosophies are born."
Even Count Vladimir’s composed expression cracked just slightly, the corner of his mouth lifting in what might have been the smallest smile in centuries.
Alina pressed her hand to her forehead, shaking her head slowly with a helpless smile she could not suppress. "That is not how ranking works. That is really not how ranking works at all."
Boo waved his hand dismissively, floating in a small circle. "Teacher, ranking is an emotional concept. It is feeling, not math. Math is also feeling if you believe hard enough."
Drake nodded seriously, backing up his co-ruler. "Yes. It depends on how you look at it. From the top, we are eighth. From the bottom, we are first. Both are true. Both are real."
Luna crossed her arms, her golden-brown eyes narrowing. "You are both delusional. That is the only truth here."
Kelpie clapped happily, water droplets spraying gently. "I like this logic! It makes everyone feel good! Everyone can be first at something!"
Felix sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. "You two are inventing new mathematics. Teachers everywhere will cry."
Boo puffed his chest proudly, floating higher. "We are innovators. Visionaries. Thinkers ahead of our time."
Drake grinned, his dragon teeth showing. "Eighth kings!"
"First-from-last emperors," Boo corrected grandly, spreading his arms wide like he was addressing subjects.
Sable looked at Lucien and whispered with curiosity, "Are they really first? I am confused now."
Lucien paused thoughtfully, considering the question with surprising seriousness. "In confidence... yes. In confidence, they are first."
Dante, who had been silent through most of the chaos, leaned back slightly in his chair and murmured dryly, his deep voice carrying amusement beneath the surface, "Ambition is strong. Accuracy... questionable. But ambition counts for something."
Sir Santo covered his mouth lightly with one elegant hand, trying very hard not to laugh, his silver-gold eyes bright with amusement.
Boo looked toward him proudly, noticing the almost-laugh. "See? Even Sponsor agrees we have ambition. Sponsor understands greatness."
"He did not say that," Felix muttered, but he was smiling now too.
Alina finally raised her hand, trying to regain some semblance of order, though she was clearly too amused to be truly authoritative.
"Alright," she said, smiling warmly at both of them. "First-from-last kings, please sit down so we can finish."
Boo and Drake sat at the exact same time, their movements perfectly synchronized, grinning at each other like they had just discovered a secret loophole in the very fabric of existence itself. They shared a look of pure conspiracy, two tiny rulers of an imaginary kingdom where rankings worked however they wanted.
After the last round of questions and gentle discussions settled down, the room slowly returned to a comfortable hum. Papers were stacked neatly again, chairs shifted softly against the floor, and the children, now relieved that rankings were officially over, began whispering to one another in much lighter tones. The tension that had filled the air earlier had completely dissolved, replaced by the easy warmth of families relaxing together.
Alina stepped forward once more, clasping her hands loosely in front of her. She felt different now than she had at the beginning of this meeting. More confident. More settled. More like she belonged here.
"Thank you for coming," she said sincerely, her voice carrying warmth instead of nerves now. "If you would like, you can also visit the classroom. You can see where they sit, where they study, and where most of the chaos happens on a daily basis."
Several parents immediately looked interested, their expressions shifting from polite attention to genuine curiosity.
Pyrra’s eyes lit up with fiery enthusiasm. "I want to see where my little flame pretends to study while actually drawing dragons in the margins."
"I do not pretend," Drake muttered defensively, though his ears turned slightly pink. "I study and also draw dragons. Both activities can exist together."
Lady Maris smiled softly, her aquatic eyes gentle. "I would love to see the classroom. I want to picture where my little tide spends his days." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Queen Serafina nodded elegantly, her regal composure never wavering. "Yes. I am curious about the space that has taught my daughter so much."
Aine clapped her hands lightly, her nine golden tails swaying with excitement behind her. "Oh, this is exciting. I want to see my cub’s desk. I want to see if he decorates it with anything or secretly judges everyone from the corner like a tiny philosopher."
Felix sighed deeply, already resigned to his fate. "Please do not inspect my drawer. There is nothing interesting in there. Nothing at all. Please ignore it completely."
General Yuki stood calmly, but his sharp eyes showed genuine interest. "It would be useful to observe the environment where training occurs. The learning environment shapes the warrior."
