Chapter 484: Chapter 484 Couple thing

"Dee?" she called softly, half amused, half surprised.

He shifted at the sound of her voice, lowering his arm just enough to look at her through half-lidded eyes. "You’re back," he murmured, his voice low and relaxed, as if this were his home instead of hers.

"You’re... very comfortable," she said, walking closer, trying not to smile at how oversized he looked on her modest couch.

"Your couch is hostile," he replied calmly. "It is clearly designed to offend tall people."

She laughed under her breath. "You could have chosen a chair."

"I chose suffering," he said flatly, closing his eyes again.

Alina shook her head fondly and moved to sit at the edge of the couch, careful not to wake the sleeping boys in the other room. "When did you come?"

"While you were tucking them in," he answered, his eyes opening again to follow her. "I didn’t want to disturb them."

Her heart softened at that. "They’re both asleep. Sable didn’t even wake up for lunch."

"He takes after me," Dante said lightly. "I also enjoy ignoring the world."

"You ignore the world far too well," she teased.

He turned his head toward her, his gaze lingering with quiet warmth. "You look tired." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Happy tired," she corrected gently. "It was a long day."

He shifted slightly, making room with a subtle tilt of his body. "Sit properly. Don’t hover like a guest in your own house."

She hesitated for a second, then settled beside him more comfortably. The couch creaked a little under their combined weight.

There was a brief, peaceful silence.

She glanced at him from the corner of her eye, her voice gentle and unhurried. "Did you find Fluffy?"

"I did," he replied calmly. "I had a few things to ask him. It turned into a rather long meeting."

"Alright," she said softly, smiling without curiosity or concern. She trusted him enough not to pry.

She was sitting carefully, almost restrained, when he shifted slightly. Without warning—but without force either—his arm curved around her waist and guided her down until her chest rested against his. The movement was so natural, so unassuming, that she barely had time to gasp before she was settled there, her head resting just above his heart.

Her eyes widened in surprise, then slowly softened.

Her heartbeat betrayed her immediately, fast and fluttering, and he felt it the moment her weight relaxed into him. A quiet warmth spread through his chest. He lifted a hand and gently caressed her hair, his fingers moving slowly and reassuringly, as if telling her there was nowhere else she needed to be.

She let out a slow breath, then another, finally relaxing. She shifted just a little, fitting herself more comfortably against him, and inhaled deeply.

God.

He smelled so good. Clean, deep, unmistakably him. It wrapped around her senses until her thoughts softened, her limbs heavy with comfort.

"Are you free?" she asked lazily, her voice low and unguarded, her fingers absently tracing slow circles against the dark fabric of his black attire, as if she didn’t even realize she was doing it.

"Yeah," he answered without hesitation. "I have time. I’m staying here. With you."

"Hmm," she murmured, content, her eyes half-closed.

He looked down at her, taking in the curve of her cheek, the way she melted so easily when she felt safe. His voice lowered, thoughtful. "Don’t you think this house is... good for us?"

She hummed softly in response.

"For our little family," he continued quietly. "Sable and Lucien in the guest room. You and me in your room."

Her breath caught.

Her cheeks warmed instantly, a blush blooming as the words settled in her chest. "Yeah," she whispered, unable to hide her smile. "Our little family."

The words felt natural. Right. As if they had always belonged there.

He exhaled slowly, his hand sliding to her back, his thumb tracing gentle, steady patterns. "I should upgrade this place a little. Make it bigger. More comfortable." A pause. "Maybe we should stay here together."

She bit her lower lip, trying—and failing—to suppress her smile. Her heart was beating too fast again. Was he really saying this? Living together?

It made her giddy.

"That sounds like a great idea," she said, pretending calm even as excitement bubbled inside her. "But... what do you mean by making it bigger?"

"Well," he replied evenly, as if discussing the weather, "expand the rooms. Bigger bed. Two more rooms added."

She nodded slowly, her eyes wide with quiet wonder. "That would take time, though..."

"No," he said simply. "One day."

She looked up at him in disbelief, then laughed softly. "Of course it would."

Silence settled between them again, but it wasn’t empty. It was full—of warmth, shared breath, and the steady rhythm of his heart beneath her ear. His large hand continued to caress her back, slow and grounding, as if memorizing her presence.

She didn’t move.

Neither did he.

"Since we both have nothing to do," Dante said thoughtfully, his thumb still tracing slow, absent patterns against her back, "we should do something... meaningful."

Alina stiffened just a little.

Meaningful?

Her mind immediately went somewhere wildly unhelpful.

She lifted her head, her eyes wide, her cheeks heating instantly. "S-something meaningful?" she echoed, biting her lower lip before she could stop herself.

"Yes," he replied calmly, as if he hadn’t just sent her thoughts into complete chaos. "A couple thing."

Her blush deepened, spreading all the way to the tips of her ears. She turned her face slightly away, then dared to glance back up at him with a giddy, uncertain look. "C-couple... thing?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Yeah," he said with an easy nod. "Let’s do it."

Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest.

"Now?" she asked, breathless.

"Yes," he answered seriously. "The babies are sleeping. This is the perfect time."

She swallowed hard. "B-but... I don’t have any experience," she admitted shyly, her fingers curling into the fabric of his attire.

"I know," he said gently. "I’ll guide you."

If she blushed any harder, she might actually combust.

"Alright," he continued, completely unaware—or painfully aware—of her internal meltdown. "Let’s do it in sunlight."

She blinked.

"In... sunlight?" she repeated slowly, confusion finally cutting through her embarrassment.
