I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 423 Home
Alina’s heart thudded so hard she felt it in her throat as she lifted her hand and pressed the doorbell. The familiar chime echoed inside the house, and for a moment she held her breath without meaning to. Dante stood tall beside her, his hands tucked in his pockets, his eyes calmly fixed on the door even though a tiny flicker of nervousness hid beneath his expression. Meanwhile, two little figures peeked from behind his legs like shy kittens.
Lucien clutched Dante’s pant leg so tightly his knuckles went pale, and Sable kept adjusting his tiny shirt, swallowing down excitement and fear at the same time.
"Mom’s family... human family..." he whispered softly, his voice trembling with awe.
"Don’t be scared," Alina said gently, bending down to smile at them. "Aunt Lyla is very sweet."
"Sweet like dessert?" Sable asked hopefully.
"Exactly like dessert," she whispered, and both boys nodded as if this was very serious information.
The door opened.
"Lina?" Aunt Lyla gasped, and before Alina could react she was pulled into a warm jasmine-scented hug. Alina melted instantly into the familiar embrace, her nerves loosening at once.
"I missed you so much, child," her aunt murmured before pulling back to examine her properly. "Goodness, look at you. You’ve lost weight, you’re glowing, are you eating properly—"
Her voice trailed off as her gaze drifted past Alina.
Her eyes widened.
"Oh... dear. You’re here too?" she breathed, her eyes widening with a mix of surprise and admiration as she stared at Dante.
Dante straightened slightly, lowering his head respectfully. "Good morning," he said, voice deep and smooth.
Before Alina could explain anything, Aunt Lyla surged forward and wrapped Dante in a sudden hug. The tall demon lord froze. Completely. His hands hovered in the air before he awkwardly patted her back twice, his eyes wide and helpless.
Alina almost laughed out loud at how adorably stiff he became.
When her aunt finally released him, she stepped back—only to gasp again.
Two tiny heads peeked out from behind Dante’s legs.
"Good heavens..." Aunt Lyla bent down slowly, her hands covering her mouth. "Are... are those yours?" she whispered, eyes shimmering.
Lucien stiffened, and Sable hid his entire face behind Dante.
Dante answered calmly, "They’re my children."
Aunt Lyla stared at him with awe, then stared at the boys with even bigger awe. "They’re your babies? My goodness, look at them, they are so cute!"
Dante simply nodded.
"Come in, come in!" she said in a rush, ushering them inside. "Oh my God, look at you two, come here, my little angels."
Lucien stepped forward first, cautious but curious. Aunt Lyla cupped his face gently.
"Hi, sweetheart," she whispered, instantly melting at the sight of him. "Look at your face... you’re so beautiful. So beautiful it should be illegal."
Lucien blinked, his cheeks turning a soft shade of pink.
Sable peeked out next, looking like a little doll. Aunt Lyla squealed again.
"Heavens! Lina, why did you hide these boys from me?"
Alina didn’t even get the chance to answer; her aunt was too busy showering them with affection.
She bent toward Sable. "Come here, sweetheart, let aunty see your cute face."
Sable moved forward shyly, and she touched his cheek with so much affection that his ears turned red.
"Are you both hungry? Do you want juice? Chocolate milk? Biscuits? Anything?" she fussed, completely entranced.
Dante watched silently as Aunt Lyla’s excitement grew bigger by the second, and a rare warmth settled across his expression. He did not say anything, but he felt relieved—happy, even—that her family loved the babies. He knew how much Alina cared about her aunt. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Alina swallowed, gathering her courage. "Aunty... I have something to tell you," she said softly, glancing at Dante.
He met her eyes, calm and steady, giving her a slow nod, a silent promise that he would stand beside her no matter what she said.
But before Alina could speak—
"You both are here!"
Georgia came running from the living room, her grin bright. Alina’s face lit up and she rushed into her arms. Georgia hugged her tightly, then peeked over Alina’s shoulder to look at Dante.
Georgia and Dante exchanged a brief greeting: one quick nod, another returned. Then Georgia lifted her thumb and gave him a secret thumbs up.
Dante blinked once, acknowledging it.
"Aunt Ly, I told Ethan to stay home," Georgia said with a happy grin. "But that boy still ran off for his football practice. He left in such a hurry I couldn’t even finish my sentence. He said he’ll try to come back soon, though. He really wants to meet all of you."
Aunt Lyla smacked her forehead. "That boy! I told him to stay."
"It’s alright, Aunt Ly," Alina said gently. "I didn’t even tell you we were coming early."
Aunt Lyla sighed, deciding to scold Ethan later. She turned back to Alina with a soft, expectant look.
"What did you want to tell me, child?" she asked.
Alina’s heart thumped so loudly she was sure everyone could hear it. Her fingers curled nervously around her dress as she turned her head, seeking the place where she felt the safest.
Dante.
He was watching her intently, calm and patient.
Alina felt shy all of a sudden—so shy she wanted to hide in the babies’ room forever. Her lips parted, but no words came out.
She had never been in a relationship before, and the idea of telling her aunt that she was in one now felt strangely unreal. The words sat in her chest like something too big, too new, too intimate to say out loud. It felt almost embarrassing, almost dreamlike... as if she wasn’t sure how to admit it when she herself was still getting used to the feeling.
"Lina?" Aunt Lyla asked gently.
Alina inhaled softly, her cheeks warming. She looked again at Dante. His slow nod, his calm eyes, his gentle, wordless support sent a little flutter through her chest, as if he was telling her she wasn’t alone.
She swallowed hard, trying to gather the courage to speak the most frightening and beautiful truth of her life. That she loved someone. That he loved her. That they were not here as teacher and boss anymore.
She glanced at her aunt’s expectant face, Georgia’s mischievous grin, Dante’s deep eyes focused only on her, and her heart whispered—
How do I say this without fainting?
Her voice trembled as she opened her mouth.
"Aunty... actually..."
