Chapter 410: Chapter 410 Miracle

"Alina..." he breathed, his voice low and shaky in a way she had never heard before.

He touched the spot she had kissed, fingertips lingering as if he could still feel the warmth.

And Alina barely had time to breathe after kissing his cheek. Everything happened too quickly. One moment Dante was staring at her like she had just upended his entire existence, and the next his arms were already around her waist, lifting her effortlessly into his lap as though she weighed nothing at all. Her breath caught, her fingers curled against the firm fabric of his attire as she found herself pressed against his chest, small and warm and completely overwhelmed by the closeness of him.

His crimson eyes lowered to hers, gleaming like slow-burning embers, and for a moment she forgot how to speak.

"You should not have done that, little human," he murmured, his voice rich and low, curling around her skin like smoke. A faint smirk touched the corner of his mouth, dangerous and amused, as though she had awakened something he kept tightly chained. "And you said a demon is kind? You poor girl..." He leaned closer, their breaths mingling, the shadows behind him shifting like living things responding to his mood. "Let me show you how unkind I am."

Before she could gasp, his mouth was on hers.

It wasn’t gentle like before. It was a fierce, claiming kiss that stole the air from her lungs and made her fingers clutch his shoulders. His lips moved against hers with a hunger that sent a shiver rushing down her spine, and she felt the sharp edge of his teeth graze her lower lip, not biting, just teasing, enough to leave her dizzy and warm all the way to her toes.

Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she pushed lightly at his shoulder, not wanting to escape, only needing to breathe again. When he finally pulled back, his hand slid to the small of her back, steadying her, keeping her close, letting her catch her breath.

Alina stared up at him, lips tingling, eyes glassy with shock and something deeper she couldn’t hide even if she tried.

"That was intense," she whispered, her voice trembling in the quiet space between them.

Dante chuckled softly, a deep sound that vibrated through his chest and into her palms. He didn’t let her go. Instead, he drew her closer, wrapping an arm around her and pressing her gently against him, as though her softness soothed something wild inside him.

His hand moved in slow circles on her back, unexpectedly tender in contrast to the kiss that had left her breathless.

"Get used to it, Alina," he murmured against her hair, his voice warm and possessive. "I’ve barely begun."

Alina felt her entire body warm at the thought, the blush rising all the way to the tips of her ears as she tried to calm her racing heart. She had never imagined being in a relationship like this, never imagined being held by someone whose presence felt so steady, whose gaze felt so intense, whose touch sent tiny shivers dancing across her skin. Her younger version always imagined future love as a soft, sweet boy who would take her on gentle dates. Dante was on a completely different level.

He was mature in a way that made her feel safe, confident in a way that stole her breath, and every time he looked at her with those crimson eyes she felt as though he saw straight into her soul. There was quiet strength in him, the kind that made her feel cherished, and a dangerous edge too, one that made her chest flutter because he never used it against her, only to protect her.

Without even realising it, she nestled closer, her fingers brushing the fabric of his shirt as she inhaled his cool, smoky scent. It felt unreal, almost too good, that this powerful demon, this intimidating principal, this fierce father, was the same man who held her so gently.

And the truth slipped through her mind in a soft, dazzled rush.

He’s so much better than any future boyfriend I ever imagined.

Her heart thudded again as she stole a tiny glance at him, taking in the way he leaned back with effortless confidence, the sharpness of his jawline, the faint smirk tugging at his lips when he caught her staring. Mature, handsome, impossibly alluring. There was no better word.

Dante was perfect.

After a while Alina finished her paperwork and went home with Dante. He carried her bag for her.

Once inside her room, she changed into something comfortable and lay on her couch, holding her phone. She had just settled when her screen lit up with an incoming video call.

"Aunt Ly?" Alina said quickly, sitting up and answering. The screen flickered, and she saw her aunt adjusting the camera, pointing it toward the bed behind her. Alina’s breath caught, her heart rising to her throat.

On the bed, Georgia was sitting cross-legged with a wide mischievous grin, and next to her... her mother was awake. Fully awake. Laughing softly as Georgia spoke, her eyes bright in a way Alina had not seen for so long that her chest tightened with happiness.

"Aunt Ly, she is awake and talking...?" Alina whispered, leaning closer to the phone as if the distance would disappear.

Aunt Ly let out a shaky laugh, excitement bubbling through her voice. "Child, today is miracle! Your mom has been awake since morning. Talking, smiling, eating everything I make. When are you coming home?? We have been waiting!"

"I’ll come back soon," Alina said, wiping her eyes as her heart raced with relief. "Can you give the phone to Mom? I want to talk to her..."

"No!" Georgia shouted from behind, grabbing a pillow and waving it dramatically. "She just woke up properly! No phones near her, no electronics, no weird frequencies touching her energy!"

Aunt Ly sighed loudly. "This girl thinks she is doctor and scientist and goddess all in one."

"It’s not nonsense!" Georgia snapped. "Your aunt’s phone has bad vibes!"

Alina giggled weakly, even as tears blurred her eyes. "Okay... okay... show her from far away then."
