I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 399 Suspicious
Dante’s expression softened just a little. "You all have behaved far better than the first time you joined this class."
Every baby went silent. Even Alina blinked, curious.
Because Dante’s face clearly showed he was remembering something... unpleasant.
And indeed he was.
Drake, during his early days, had burned a chair every two days just by existing.
Kelpie had flooded the classroom so many times the janitor developed a fear of water.
Boo lodged dramatic complaints daily—sometimes hourly.
Luna used to howl without warning, startling every creature within ten kilometers.
Rocky turned into an actual rock in the middle of lessons, daily.
Vlad Jr. refused to speak to anyone because he didn’t like teacher.
Sable used to hide under desks with trembling shadows.
Only Lucien and Felix had behaved, including Sable.
Dante looked over his students now, quiet, focused, beautifully improved, and felt genuinely proud.
"Thank you, Principal," Boo said suddenly, bowing his head dramatically. He was clearly copying Vlad Jr.’s elegance, except his bow was crooked and glitter fell off his sleeve like confetti.
Dante stared at him for a moment, then nodded slowly as if accepting Boo’s royal salute.
"Very well," Dante continued. "From tomorrow, your holiday begins. A full month. Kindergarten will resume next month. All the details are already sent to your parents."
The room shifted instantly, half the babies bursting with excitement, half looking crushed.
Rocky gasped and clapped in delight.
Drake pumped his fists like he won a war.
Luna wagged her tail so fast Alina feared it might fly off.
Felix smiled, already imagining his mother’s surprise.
Kelpie splashed a little water from happiness.
Vlad Jr. elegantly smiled.
But Lucien’s eyes dimmed.
Sable’s shoulders slumped.
Even Boo pouted dramatically.
Alina watched them with a smile.
"All of you should rest, spend time with your families, and enjoy your holidays," Dante continued gently.
"Yes, Principal..." the babies murmured.
Dante nodded once more, then turned slightly toward Alina..just enough to meet her eyes. The glance was brief, warm, almost impossible to notice.
Except Alina felt it like a spark inside her chest.
Then Dante stepped back and said quietly, "See you all next month."
He turned and left the classroom, shadows trailing behind him like a respectful escort.
As the door closed, Boo whispered loudly, "He looked at teacher again. Something fishy!!!!"
Alina nearly choked on her breath.
The babies burst into giggles.
Lucien and Sable immediately turned toward Boo, their little brows scrunched in confusion.
"What’s suspicious?" Lucien asked seriously.
"Yes, Boo, tell us," Sable added shyly.
Boo didn’t even blink. He crossed his tiny ghost arms, floated two inches higher as if gaining seniority, and gave a dramatic old-grandpa cough.
"Cough, cough... you two are not ready to hear," he declared with ancient wisdom. "You are still babies. Very tiny. Very innocent. Boo cannot burden your small minds with such spicy gossip."
Lucien’s jaw dropped.
Sable gasped softly, eyes huge. "But... Boo... we are same age."
"No, no." Boo shook his head, raising one finger. "Boo is older in ghost years. Boo has seen things. Boo understands romance—"
Before Boo could finish his legendary speech, a soft shadow appeared beside him.
He froze.
Alina stood right next to him, smiling sweetly...too sweetly.
Boo’s eyes widened in horror.
"Oh nooooooo—!"
But it was too late.
She grabbed his cold little ghost ear between her fingers and pulled gently but firmly. "You mischievous little ghost!" Alina scolded, half laughing. "Who taught you words like ’fishy’ and ’romance’? Hmm? Who?"
Boo squealed, squirming dramatically. "Teacher! Mercy! Boo is delicate! Boo will melt!"
She tugged his cheek next. "And since when are you giving romance lectures to babies?"
Drake burst out laughing so hard he held his stomach and rolled on his chair. "HAHAHAHA! Boo got caught! Boo got caught!"
Luna snorted.
Kelpie splashed a tiny blob of water in amusement.
Vlad Jr. pinched the bridge of his nose.
Felix laughed into his sleeve like a polite little gentleman.
Rocky turned into a pebble from embarrassment.
Even Lucien and Sable giggled behind their hands.
Boo, still held by the cheek, pointed at Drake dramatically.
"Teacher! Drake laughed at me! This is bullying! Boo is victim!"
Alina let go and just shook her head, laughing softly as she wiped glitter off her fingers.
"Boo," she said, tapping his forehead, "you’re going to be the reason I go crazy one day."
Boo puffed up proudly. "Hehe... Boo’s specialty."
And the entire class exploded into giggles again.
After a while, Alina drew in a quiet breath and lifted her head, forcing a smile she hoped looked steadier than it felt. "Okay... you all can leave now," she said gently, her voice warm but carrying a tiny tremble that slipped through before she could hide it. She stood at the front of the class with her hands clasped together
The sunlight filtered softly across the room, brushing her hair and shoulders with a warm glow, yet she felt a strange heaviness settle in her chest. For the first time that morning, every baby grew still. Their tiny faces lowered, their hands paused mid-packing, and the room’s cheerful energy softened into a quiet hush.
They all realized at the same time that they weren’t going to see their teacher for an entire month.
Drake acted before the others even processed the feeling. His chubby feet padded across the floor, and he wrapped his small arms tightly around Alina’s legs. His warm cheek pressed into her knee, and when he tilted his head up, his large eyes were already glistening. "Teacher... I will miss you," he whispered, his voice trembling with sadness. "Okay? Don’t be sad."
The words hit her so deeply she felt a soft ache bloom inside. She instantly crouched down and pulled him close, her arms circling his little body. His fluffy hair brushed her chin as she hugged him, and she let her fingers smooth the back of his head. "Oh sweetheart... I’ll miss you too," she murmured, her voice warming with affection. "You did so well. I’m so proud of you."
Before she could breathe properly, another tiny presence pressed against her. Sable shuffled forward with his soft little steps, his eyes already watery, and he leaned into her shoulder without saying anything at first. His small hands clung to her like he was afraid she might slip away. Alina hugged him gently, cupping his head as he melted against her. "Come here, my gentle baby," she whispered.
