Chapter 325: Chapter 325 Guardian of young minds

And then, from the great coral gates, a glow of light spread across the palace steps as two figures approached, followed by a familiar one waving excitedly behind them.

King Corvus and Lady Maris.

The King was tall and broad-shouldered, wearing robes made of sparkling sea treasures. His dark blue hair flowed like the tide itself, and his stormy eyes held the calm strength of deep waters. Just one glance at him and anyone could tell he was the ruler of this ocean.

Beside him swam Lady Maris, her long silver-aqua hair gliding through the water like liquid moonlight. Her deep lagoon-blue eyes sparkled warmly, and her gentle smile could melt even the coldest current.

And between them, spinning and waving both arms, was Kelpie—covered in so many jewels that he practically glowed. His hair was loose and gleamed like sunlight through waves, tiny pearls and shell rings threaded between the strands. His outfit was so bright and beautiful that Boo gasped dramatically the moment he saw him.

"HE’S SHINING MORE THAN THE PALACE!" Boo shouted, shielding his eyes.

Drake’s jaw dropped. "KELPIE! You look like a treasure chest exploded on you!"

Kelpie giggled, spinning faster. "Teacher! Friends! You came!"

He swam toward them joyfully, his feet now webbed, helping him glide easily through the water. A trail of glittering bubbles followed behind, and his smile grew wider when he saw Luna and Rocky. "I missed you all so much!"

Alina’s heart softened as she watched him hug his friend Rocky tightly.

Unlike the others, Dante was still dressed in his dark royal attire of Nightshade. The fine black fabric shone faintly under the sea’s glow, embroidered with threads that seemed to drink in the light. He stepped forward and shook hands with King Corvus, his expression calm and composed, a polite smile curving his lips.

King Corvus returned the gesture with regal warmth, while Lady Maris smiled elegantly beside him, her silvery hair flowing like soft currents. When her gaze fell upon Alina, it softened even more, and Alina instantly felt her heart skip. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

She quickly straightened her posture, trying to steady her breathing. Her fingers fidgeted slightly at her sides until Dante’s low voice grounded her.

"She is Miss Alina," he said, glancing toward her with quiet assurance. "The class teacher of Class D."

Lady Maris’s eyes brightened with delight. "Ah, so you’re the one who guides my little tide," she said warmly.

Alina bowed quickly, her voice a little shaky. "H-hello, King Corvus and Lady Maris."

"You don’t need to bow," Lady Maris said with a charming smile, her voice like music that rippled softly through the water. "You are a teacher—a guardian of young minds. You hold the authority of knowledge and heart. That deserves respect, not submission."

Alina blinked, caught off guard, then smiled shyly, her chest swelling with warmth. Being spoken to like that, with genuine respect, touched her deeply. "Thank you," she said softly, straightening again.

"Hello, Uncle and Aunty!" Drake suddenly shouted, swimming forward with his usual boundless enthusiasm.

Lady Maris tilted her head, eyes narrowing thoughtfully as she studied his golden-red hair and the small flicker of fire in his tail. Then realization dawned on her face. "Lady Pyrra’s baby?" she asked, surprised.

Drake’s eyes went wide. "You know my mom?!" He swam closer in disbelief, his tail wagging wildly behind him.

Before anyone could answer, Boo floated forward proudly, puffing up his round ghostly chest. "Hello, Uncle and Aunty! I’m Boo!" he said with an unusually polite smile that almost hid his usual mischief.

Lady Maris clasped her hands together, laughing softly. "Boo... what a sweet name! You look almost like a little merman with your tail."

"Really?!" Boo gasped, his translucent cheeks glowing pink. He tried not to spin from happiness, but his ghostly tail betrayed him, wiggling furiously behind him like an excited ribbon.

Alina covered her mouth, hiding a laugh, while Dante’s shoulders moved ever so slightly, as if he too was trying not to smile.

Drake was still frowning in confusion, his tail twitching as he tilted his head. "Wait a second," he muttered, blinking up at Lady Maris. "How did you know I was my mom’s baby? Did Kelpie tell you? Or did my mom gossip about me again? Because if she told you about the curtain thing—it wasn’t my fault! It was the sneeze!"

Alina blinked. "Curtain thing?"

Drake gasped dramatically and slapped both hands over his mouth. "Nothing! No curtain! Never existed!"

Boo floated beside him, smirking. "He set his whole room on fire because he sneezed during nap time."

"BOO!" Drake shouted, puffing tiny smoke clouds as he chased him around in circles.

Lady Maris giggled softly, covering her lips with her hand. "Oh dear, he’s just like his mother. Lady Pyrra once sneezed during a royal banquet and almost burned half the dessert table."

Drake froze midair, tail flicking with pride. "Really?!" he beamed. "So it runs in the family! I knew my sneeze powers were royal!"

"Royal disaster, maybe," Boo said, spinning upside down.

"Hey!" Drake roared, trying to grab him while Boo zoomed away laughing.

Luna groaned, holding her head. "Teacher, can we leash them before they burn the sea?"

Alina covered her mouth to hide a laugh. "No leashing, Luna. Let them get it out of their system."

"Then I want a leash too!" Boo declared, spinning proudly. "A fancy one! With sparkles!"

"Ghosts don’t even need leashes!" Drake huffed, grabbing at him again.

"Yes, but they deserve fashion!" Boo said sassily, making Felix snort with laughter.

The underwater palace staff looked utterly stunned, while King Corvus just sighed with faint amusement. "Dante," he murmured, "your students seem... spirited."

Dante’s expression didn’t change, but the corner of his mouth twitched. "They’re Miss Alina’s class," he said simply.

Alina’s eyes widened. "Excuse me? They’re our students!"

Lady Maris laughed, her silvery hair floating like soft waves. "They are precious. Please, come in—all of you."

Drake puffed his chest proudly, spinning once before declaring, "The royal sneeze line has arrived!"

And as the great coral gates opened for them, Alina could only sigh and laugh.
