I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 324 Underwater (2)
"Teacher," Drake called from his seat, his wings twitching restlessly. "Why is Kelpie’s house so far away? What if we reach late? What if the fishes eat all the snacks before us?"
Before Alina could answer, Boo gasped dramatically from above. He had somehow freed himself from the seatbelt and was spinning like a startled jellyfish. "What if we reach so late that the fishes fall asleep and snore bubbles? I can’t handle that sound, teacher!"
Felix looked unimpressed. "Fishes don’t snore, Boo," he said calmly, licking peach sugar off his finger. "They open and close their mouths because they’re breathing."
Boo turned, utterly scandalized. "Breathing? I thought they were singing silently!"
The entire bus went quiet for half a second, then Drake burst out laughing so hard that he fell sideways in his seat again. "Singing silently! Hahahaha!"
Even Luna, who had been pretending to nap, peeked one eye open and groaned. "You’re all giving me a headache," she muttered, covering her ears with her tiny paws.
Alina chuckled helplessly, holding her stomach as she tried to calm down. "No one’s eating snacks or singing bubbles, alright?" she said through her laughter. "We’ll reach soon, and Kelpie’s family will be waiting for us."
"Waiting with snacks?" Boo asked hopefully.
"Of course," Alina said, smiling.
"Then speed up, turtle bus!" Drake shouted excitedly, slapping the seat in front of him.
The bus made a deep rumbling sound as if responding, and everyone squealed, clutching their seats while Boo spun again, yelling, "It heard him! Teacher, it heard him!"
Alina pressed her palm to her face, laughing uncontrollably now. "I think even the bus is tired of hearing you talk, Drake."
Everyone erupted into laughter again.
After what felt like an eternity of excited squeals, chatter, and Boo’s dramatic countdowns that kept restarting from ten, the turtle bus finally slowed down. Outside the glass, a breathtaking scene unfolded, so dazzling that every child pressed their face to the window in awe.
They had arrived.
A massive coral arch shimmered ahead, its surface glowing with shades of pink, gold, and turquoise. Beyond it stretched an entire underwater city alive with light. Schools of sparkling fish glided through the currents like living ribbons, and bubbles rose from seashell lanterns that lined the paths. The huge shining gate ahead opened slowly, revealing hundreds of aquatic beings swimming gracefully inside. Some had flowing fins, others shimmering tails, and some walked upon coral streets with soft blue light swirling around their feet.
Drake couldn’t contain himself. "Woah!" he screamed, leaping up from his seat straight onto the glass wall, his nose squished against it as his eyes nearly popped out. "Teacher, look! It’s all shiny! I want one of those glowy sticks!" His wings flapped wildly, and Alina had to grab him by the back of his shirt before he could try breaking through the window.
"Drake, no stealing magical decorations," Alina said, holding him firmly even as he wriggled like a restless fish.
Meanwhile, Boo was spinning in circles midair, covering his face with his hands dramatically. "It’s too pretty! Boo can’t handle this much beauty! Boo fainting!" He flopped sideways in slow motion before realizing, halfway through, that ghosts couldn’t faint. "Okay, Boo not fainting, but still very shocked!"
Sable stood beside Felix with both hands pressed against the glass, his pale face glowing faintly with wonder. "So many colors," he whispered softly, his eyes wide as pearls. Felix nodded beside him, looking around with quiet amazement. "This place is like a painting. Peach-colored lights everywhere."
Even Alina couldn’t stop smiling. The sight was nothing short of magical. Every corner shimmered with life—big fish with glimmering fins, tall mermen in royal blue robes, and little sea-children darting past with ribbons that floated like jellyfish trails.
Then her gaze caught something else. Rows of elegant men and women in clothes made of flowing sea silk and luminous shells were walking gracefully toward the grand plaza. Their beauty was unreal—hair that moved like gentle currents and skin that glowed faintly like moonlight beneath the waves.
For a moment, Alina could only stare, breathless. The sight made her heart swell with awe. "It’s mesmerizing," she whispered.
Luna, who stood beside her, nodded seriously, her little wolf ears twitching as if she completely agreed with her teacher’s silent amazement.
"This place is the Coral Palace of Thalantis," Dante said in his calm, deep voice as he stood near the glass wall. "It is ruled by King Corvus."
Soon the turtle bus slowed and stopped beside the palace gates—a grand, gleaming structure carved entirely from shining white coral. It shimmered like frost under sunlight, each arch and pillar glittering with pearls and glowing shells.
Alina felt nervous as she helped her little students step outside one by one. The moment her feet touched the ground, she froze. The sensation was extraordinary. The water brushed softly against her skin, cool and gentle like silk, yet she could breathe perfectly. Her hair floated slightly around her shoulders, but not a single strand was wet. Even her dress swayed lightly, completely dry. Still, she shivered a little. The water felt cold, biting faintly through the magic’s comfort.
She wasn’t the only one. Drake wrapped his arms around himself dramatically, puffing tiny sparks of fire from his nose just to keep warm. "Teacher, it’s freezing! I’m a fire dragon, not an ice cube!"
Felix nodded quickly, rubbing his arms. "Same! My peach trees would faint in this temperature!"
Luna looked grumpy, her tail twitching. "I want sun. Where’s the sun?"
Meanwhile, Boo floated beside them, spinning happily, his ghostly form glowing faintly in the water. "Cold? Boo doesn’t feel cold. Boo feels perfect. It’s like home—sparkly, floaty, spooky!"
Sable stood quietly near him, his pale hands folded neatly in front of him. "It feels peaceful," he said softly, his faint shadow gliding across the ocean floor.
Lucien seemed completely fine, his red eyes calm and thoughtful as he looked around. Vlad Jr. adjusted his little coat with the grace of a prince. "This prince admires extremely cold environments," he said loftily.
Rocky, as usual, stood in his own quiet world, shy but content. "Rocky likes it," he said simply. "It’s cold and warm together, like stone."
