I Am Your Natural Enemy-Chapter 435 - 181 Departure, Underworld City (5k)_3
He’d even seen it with his own eyes, and now suspected this guy’s Yang Energy could radiate for dozens of kilometers. Was this terrifying power because his strength suddenly skyrocketed so much that even he couldn’t control the overwhelming Yang Energy...
It was just that his power was too strong, and the numbers on that day would keep inflating, so every time he showed up right on time, he’d always seem invincible.
Normally, this guy worked his ass off with Martial Training—definitely trying to actually master this kind of power.
He could only transform once every couple dozen days, and on the day he transformed, he had to wait for time to upgrade. Normally, he was still a weak chicken—the pros were absurdly strong, but the cons were just way too big.
Wen Yan didn’t have much hope for that kind of thing. He preferred the way it was now—Krypton Gold to go full hacks and power up in a flash.
A week passed, and Wen Yan felt like he was pretty much ready. When he was about to set off, a faint glow landed outside the manor—Chen Qimo was standing quietly outside, watching Wen Yan practice his punches. Only when he finished did she wave her arms.
Wen Yan shook his head and laughed.
"I knew it. There’s no way you’d listen to me. You came again. I’ve got to head out for something—don’t come again, seriously, it’s dangerous."
He reached out, patted Chen Qimo on the head, and casually gave her a blessing of Yang Energy.
Chen Qimo wanted to say something, but Wen Yan’s big hand had already covered her head.
"If I come back, I’ll get someone to let you know. Go home now, I’m heading out."
Chen Qimo felt the warmth sweep over her, the fierce Yang Energy was like the winter sun, warming her all over, and the words she wanted to say stuck in her throat—she could only nod in agreement.
After seeing Chen Qimo off, Wen Yan prepped for another half a day, before seeing a Long Talisman drop down.
He glanced at it—it was a new message from his Fourth Great-uncle Master.
It said that, at Gauss’s request, he’d told him a bit about how to summon Gauss. Of course, it was just the method—he couldn’t even scrape together the materials over in the Netherworld.
Apparently Gauss got hyped up by someone, wanting to mess around with some reverse Summoning Circle to yank Wen Yan back over.
But during the research process, something went sideways. He ran out of Power and lost his lower half. Now he lies at home every day, waiting for everything below the waist to regrow.
Then Gauss said that it wasn’t a total failure—he’d already sensed the Netherworld, and even poked through a bit of its barriers, but now most of his rank was sealed, his power sucked, plus in the Netherworld, something with quite a high rank was lurking, and it noticed the summoning before Wen Yan ever did.
That guy tried to use the summoning’s power—but directly drained all of Gauss’s Power, making his lower half the cost and burning it up. Still didn’t manage to fish that thing out.
Gauss said he’ll give it another shot in about a month, when he’s mostly recovered.
This is all straight from Gauss.
Then the Fourth Great-uncle Master added that damn Cai Qidong said, "I’m begging you, talk some sense into Gauss."
After Gauss pulled that stunt, the Doomsday Computer at the Scorching Sun Headquarters started updating the Cyber Netherworld game for real.
And it started affecting other players too. The Scorching Sun Department tried to bring stuff in, but most of it wouldn’t make it through, and carry weight limits got super strict.
Seems like a round of patching dropped in—exploiting loopholes wasn’t as easy.
The Little Thief already failed to enter the Netherworld three times in a row, because the stuff he brought didn’t meet the requirements.
Wen Yan scratched his head—where the hell did Gauss pick this up, from some totally bonkers show?
Like, damn, isn’t this just brute-forced invasion?
Wen Yan hadn’t noticed anything in the Netherworld, but all this stuff had happened outside in just a few days?
No idea what the Netherworld update actually changed—was it just bugfixes, or did they really add anything?
He slung on the Incense Candle Ballista, grabbed the Black Mountain Stone Sculpture, packed his supplies, then set out with the Grave Walker and Lin Jue.
As he walked, he’d occasionally toss out a Button Locator, worried some might become useless. Even on the road, he’d randomly throw more to the sides.
The manor behind slowly faded into the darkness, and he could just barely make out a faint outline of the mountains. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
After Wen Yan walked for several hours, a figure appeared outside the manor—Fu Guangfei.
When he landed, he nearly got crushed under the stuff he was carrying, way too heavy, but he managed to hold it up.
That thing weighed on his shoulders and made them ache like hell.
Realizing this, Fu Guangfei startled a little. He struggled to the manor gate with the load, set it down, then stretched out both hands for a look.
Both his hands seemed like they were real, a real body now.
He could feel exhaustion, pain in his collarbone, and even the weight of his own body—the sense of reality had leveled up big time.
He hurried up, wanting to tell Wen Yan there was a new change in the Netherworld, but got blocked at the door by a paper figure, who said Wen Yan was out and might not be back for days.
...
In a corner of the Netherworld, a city shrouded in heavy Yin Qi stood on the earth. Inside, Yin Qi billowed, shadowy figures moved along the streets, and a dense throng of Ghosts seemed to live there as if they were all still alive.
When the bright energy in the sky hit its peak, all the Ghosts knelt to the ground, worshipping toward the city center.
There, atop a lofty altar, was a giant Big Fire Basin several meters across; flames burned quietly within, and from time to time, people would toss bones into it.
The firelight bathed the entire city, all the Ghosts basked in the glow, chanting something nobody could quite catch.
Beyond the city, two people arrived. Looking down at their bodies, they were startled to discover—they seemed to have actual bodies now, no longer just in Nether Soul form.
Before they could do anything, they felt a chill and a sense of danger. On the distant city wall, a figure with both eyes blazing with ghostly blue flames had already spotted them.
The blue fire transformed into a powerful arrow and shot toward them.
"Retreat, report back now!"
One of them instantly decided, prepared to log off, and a faint glow wrapped him up; in an instant, he shot into the sky and vanished.
But the other, just as he was about to log off, the powerful arrow caught up and landed near them; the flame atop it seemed almost intelligent, instantly flying over, wrapping around him. The fire pressed back the faint glow emerging from his body, pinning him in place.
