I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 73: So curious
Chapter 73: So curious
Arlen chuckled. He interlocked his hand and leaned on it, "So, we are hating him."
Ravi turned the broth and nodded simply without hesitation.
"You don’t even know who he is?" Arlen asked, his voice curious.
Ravi did not need to. "I don’t care." He hurt Arlen. Matters like this were extremely simple to Ravi.
"Why?" Arlen’s voice was light as if he was afraid of disturbing something in the deep night.
Ravi’s cheeks turned red and his voice was even lower than his yet with an unshakable firmness, "We are friends."
Arlen smiled, "Ah! It turns out that it is one of the benefits of being friends with Ravi."
Seeing those blue eyes glinting with mischief, Ravi knew that he was teasing him again and ignored him.
This person was very simple at times. This person hurt you so we are hating this person together.
Arlen was the complete opposite of a loner. He had friends and family that loved him. But Nobody, Nobody in his life would choose him over Anouk. Even his ex would drop what he was doing if Anouk was in trouble. It was Anouk after all, his very existence made the state under his protection safe.
Millions of people lived safely because of him.
I don’t care.
Those three ordinary words filled him with incredible happiness. That unexplainable feeling of being moved touched his heart and he looked at Ravi, his heart softening inexplicably.
Ravi closed the lid of the bone broth soup and opened the lid for the braised pork. The pork belly had already turned into a beautiful reddish brown color. He poked at it to make sure it was cooked properly, it needed a minute or two.
The hot water had been boiling for the past two minutes and he opened the noodle packet and poured it in. This kind of noodles did not take time so after stirring it around for a minute and half, he drained them out.
It was now time to plate the food.
"Hand me those bowls."
Arlen nodded and he carried the plate with the air-fried vegetables and the bowls over.
Ravi divided the noodles into three, putting the smaller portion on Ash’s plate.
"The cat is eating too. Is it..."
"Don’t ask." Ravi interrupted him. Asher’s case was complicated. He should tell Arlen but the question of how he knew would definitely arise.
He opened the bone broth and poured some of it into the bowl, the rich smell filled the kitchen, enveloping the entire kitchen.
He added the vegetables, arranging them side by side, before he used chopsticks to place strips of the braised pork on the noodle soup and finally added some chill oil and green onions, avoiding Asher’s bowl when adding the chill oil.
"It looks so good." Arlen hurriedly took his phone to take some pictures. The food was as pretty as a painting and it smelled so deliciously.
Ravi looked at him helplessly, he carried him and Asher’s place to the dining table, "It would get cold. Hurry up."
"Coming."
He put away his phone and hurried to sit next to Ravi. He looked over and the cat was having his dinner in front of the television that was playing a children’s movie.
He giddily picked up the spoon and tasted the soup. The bone broth was very rich and so delicious. It was savory and spicy. He licked his lips as he chased the delicious aftertaste. So refreshing, the weather was cold and it was as if the soup rushed down his veins warming him up.
He slurped the noodles, they were soft and stringy. The sauce of the braised pork had melted into the soup and the noodles were covered with a rich meaty flavor making them extra tasty.
He tried some of the vegetables with the noodles and then the braised pork. He enjoyed the braised pork very very much, his eyes widened when the meat entered his mouth. The oil from the meat had all been cooked out, so it was not as greasy as he expected it would be.
The lean part was chewy while the fatty side was very soft and tender, with every bite the rich flavor filled his mind.
This was just so delicious.
A few minutes later, there were just a few mouthfuls of soup remaining in his bowl. He picked up his bowl and drank them all.
This was actually more delicious than usual. Ravi wondered whether it was because he had a visitor that he had made more effort. He used a spoon to drink some soup and used the chopstick to have some noodles.
He was eating quietly when suddenly he felt Arlen’s gaze. He paused and looked up at him.
"What is it?" freewebnøvel.coɱ
Arlen shook his head. Ravi’s manner of eating was just too proper, he had noticed it a little the last time but because the pasta was so delicious, he did not concentrate but now he finished eating before, he could watch him.
His back was straight and his shoulders stretched, he picked up the food and chewed slowly in a calm manner like it was not the same delicious noodle soup that he had that Ravi was having.
It reminded Arlen of those historical series when the prince and princesses were having dinner. So formal, you could not even tell how delicious the food was from their expression. This kind of table manners was something that could be indoctrinated for a long time.
The last time, he had suspected that Ravi was some kind of family soldier or he had grown up with a mercenary on the outskirts of Avalon. But now that position was checked, this kind of manners was not something anyone could learn.
Now, he thinks, Ravi had always had this nobility about him that separates him from other people.
He felt so curious about Ravi. If before it was like being curious about a mysterious puzzle, now it is deeper. He wanted to know everything, starting from what thought he had from the moment he woke up to his life that had never intersected with his. His favorite food and his worst movies.
