I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 600 - 598: Glad to Have Met You
Due to a delay caused by a storm system, the plane landed at Las Vegas Airport amid the deepening night.
However, this did not affect Kris Cooper and Vera Wave’s plan to register.
This city, not only famed as a Casino but also dubbed the "Wedding Capital," has a marriage registry that’s open 24 hours a day year-round. As long as you wish, you can go there to register for marriage at any time.
Going to this marriage registry to wed was the promise Kris Cooper and Vera Wave made years ago. Seeing that it was almost midnight, Kris Cooper did not return to the hotel to rest; instead, they went straight from the airport to the marriage registry.
Vera glanced at her T-shirt and jeans, "But, I haven’t changed clothes yet."
"I will help you borrow their room when the time comes," Kris Cooper reassured her, gently touching the top of her head. "I can’t wait until tomorrow. If we go now, we shouldn’t have to queue."
She then raised the corners of her mouth, "Alright!"
The car reached the marriage registry by midnight; as Kris Cooper mentioned, there was no one else there besides them.
Kris Cooper made a request to the staff, who generously agreed to let Vera borrow a room to change clothes.
A moment later, Vera emerged in the dress she had prepared, while outside, Kris Cooper had magically changed into a silver-gray suit.
Looking at each other’s attire, they both smiled.
Unintentionally, they both chose the outfits they wore when they first met: she in a white princess dress, he in a silver-gray suit with a black shirt, tie-less with a lazily loose collar.
Just like back then, she clasped her hands behind her back, gazing at his face.
"Hey, handsome, why were you staring at me just now?"
"I had the same question."
He answered.
She raised her eyebrows, and he smiled as he spoke. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"Kris Cooper, that’s my name."
"Your name is Cooper? What a coincidence, I’m Vera Wave. Together our names make a saying!" She extended her hand to him, "Nice to meet you."
Reaching out to hold her small hand, he smiled happily, like a child finding a pearl on the beach.
"Me too."
All the lines were just as they were back then.
Then, he turned around with a smile, holding her hand as they walked towards the registry.
Each with a form, they filled it out earnestly, every letter and number written with great care.
Finally, they signed it.
A moment later, two identical marriage certificates were handed to them.
In Las Vegas, getting married is just that simple.
Holding their certificates, they approached each other and paused on the steps, turning to look at each other, then naturally leaning in to kiss.
Applause erupted around them.
Vera let go of him, turned her face, and saw a few people standing at the bottom of the steps, her eyes widening little by little.
"Andre, Kenton, Barry Gust..."
The tall man standing next to Kenton Maverick shrugged and, just like in the past, corrected her.
"It’s Evan Gust!"
Evan and Barry Gust were twins; back then, Vera always mixed up their names, always remembering the older brother Evan’s name as Barry’s.
"Sorry, sorry, I got it wrong again." She laughed and shifted her gaze to the girl beside Evan Gust, wearing a pale yellow dress, "Are you Larry?"
Barry Gust laughed, "I thought you were going to call me Pebble again!"
