I Am the Only Fertile Woman in the Game-Chapter 67 I Stayed Behind
"Don’t think I won’t kill you," Zong Fang stated coldly, a stark contrast to the way he had spoken to Qiao Suisui just moments before.
Carl gave a nonchalant smile, intending to retort with a sneer, but seeing Qiao Suisui standing nervously to one side, he didn’t want to alarm her and therefore swallowed his words.
With Carl there as a third wheel, the conversation between Qiao Suisui and Zong Fang couldn’t continue. Zong Fang said he’d seriously consider it and told her not to worry too much and to rest well.
In the time that followed, Carl found himself teleported to a desolate wilderness with just a thought from Zong Fang. He cursed loudly at the sky, then started to dodge the annoying bloodthirsty crows, without a moment to tend to his wounds.
Qiao Suisui was still taken care of by Zong Fang at all times. However, after finding out she was pregnant, the man refrained a lot, merely holding her while they slept at night, touching nothing more than necessary.
Thus, time in the space passed indeterminately, and while Zong Fang was counting resources to see how much longer they could hold out, Qiao Suisui took the chance during his absence to close her eyes, hold her breath, concentrate, and in the next second, she appeared out of nowhere in front of Carl.
There she saw the man, resting with his eyes closed against a large rock. Although he had no new wounds, he looked to be in a very bad state overall.
"Carl."
Qiao Suisui walked over and squatted beside him, calling out several times and realizing he could not be woken, so she took out her Medical Box. After bandaging a few visible wounds, she suspected there were more injuries underneath his clothing, ones that were key.
Carl was only wearing a black form-fitting T-shirt, with his military jacket pressed under him. At this moment, Qiao Suisui pinched the corner of the T-shirt and gently lifted it, revealing the man’s abdominal muscles sculpted in light and shadow, particularly pronounced. Carl had fair skin, and his body looked as if it were an artwork carved from marble, each section of his abs tight and powerful.
Qiao Suisui’s gaze moved downward and noticed three deep bloody gashes across his lower abdomen and groin, still oozing blood lightly.
"Had enough of a look?"
Startled by the sudden voice, she looked up to see Carl, who, without her knowing, had opened his eyes and was now watching her with a half-smile.
He curled his lips and said, "Want to touch?"
Qiao Suisui was already immune to his frivolousness and ignored the intense gaze that followed her unrelentingly. She quickly and adeptly took out tools from the Medical Box to bandage him, focusing intently on the task.
Seeing her disregard him, Carl wasn’t annoyed. He simply leaned against the stone behind him, quietly observing her rapid yet orderly actions. He realized her profile was even more attractive than her front, her features as delicate as a porcelain doll, with eyelashes like feathers when she looked down.
Carl particularly liked her stern expression. For some reason, he felt this was the real Qiao Suisui. There was no accommodating weakness, no ingratiating smile, only ’I want’ and ’I get’. Perhaps this was also why he could never resist teasing her.
The first time he saw her was on the second floor of the small building, as Ruka carried her from under Zong Fang’s body.
He should have scorned it, after all, he despised the weak.
But he caught something... this little female, without an ounce of strength, hadn’t given Zong Fang even a glance, even though the man had gotten injured protecting her.
She huddled in Ruka’s arms, appearing utterly pitiful, yet there was not a trace of fear in her eyes. She always observed her surroundings calmly, showing unease only at specific times, and that was when Ruka showed concern for her.
Ruthless.
That was Carl’s first impression of Qiao Suisui.
Afterward, when he returned to the Federation to report back, her image kept haunting his mind. Even though she could have openly displayed her thoughts on her face, even though she was a person with distinct ideas, she insisted on pretending to be an empathetic Little White Rabbit... He began to grow curious about her.
He used his own privileges to pull up Qiao Suisui’s file from the Investigation Bureau, and was surprised to discover that her information was of an encrypted level. While it was true that females were rare and precious, the Federation wouldn’t make a big fuss over such a minor matter, which meant her identity had to be far from ordinary.
Carl himself didn’t know what drove him, but he started spending time on the Star Network searching for her, not overlooking any clue related to her. His work habits quickly allowed him to sort out some conjectures: Qiao Suisui must have encountered Ruka and Leberli first, and Zong Fang was a newcomer, but none of them were her spouse or guardian.
With this discovery, Carl felt an inexplicable sense of relief. Not dwelling on it further, he continued to track traces of her, this time starting with people connected to her. He first opened Ruka’s account and found, as expected, that the man was as dull as he had imagined, having never posted anything. Just when he was about to sign out, he saw that Ruka’s follow list had only one person.
Carl clicked into this account and raised an eyebrow when he saw the homepage’s popularity.
With so many males following, could it be...
Just then, the Light Computer popped up a message, announcing a new update on Ruka’s account.
Carl clicked on it and saw photos of various rooms, and his face suddenly broke into a smile.
It wasn’t that he had ulterior motives; he had no different purpose. But then again, he hadn’t approached her with entirely clear intentions either.
"Alright, avoid getting wet for a while, or it will become inflamed," she said.

Hearing her voice, Carl snapped back from his memories and saw a streak of blood on her face. She must have accidentally smeared it when she was bandaging him earlier, using the back of her hand without noticing. Carl’s fingertips twitched, but he saw her stand up the next second.
"I need to go back. If Zong Fang realizes I’m not there, it’ll be bad. You’d better head back soon, too. Just because he doesn’t kill you now doesn’t mean he really won’t kill you," Qiao Suisui said as she packed up the Medical Box, then turned to look at him with a serious expression, "Tell Ruka and Ash that I’m fine, Zong Fang hasn’t trapped me; it’s my own choice to stay here temporarily."
Carl frowned and asked why.
"Do you really like that snake?"
Qiao Suisui didn’t answer, but repeated that he should leave as soon as possible.
"If I leave now, this space will collapse. Then you and that... snake will both die here," Carl thought to say ’that annoying snake’, but looking into her clear eyes, he suddenly found it impossible to talk as recklessly as before.
Qiao Suisui was unaware of this, and a bit displeased. "Why didn’t you say so earlier?"
"Is it late now?" Carl rose lazily, actually because every movement sent jolts of pain through his wounds. Now was the perfect time to leave; he could use the last of his strength to take her out with him, but these were things he wouldn’t tell Qiao Suisui. He just quirked an eyebrow and curved his lips into a teasing, relaxed smile, "If you leave with me now, that snake is doomed to die. Then you’ll be free of anyone bothering you in the future, isn’t that great?"
Qiao Suisui’s breathing was slightly unsteady, and she lowered her gaze. A few seconds later, she resolutely looked up at Carl and said, "You go ahead, I’ll stay."
