I Am Genie-Chapter 79: Naming Nonsense
The ’weird’ words Michael had just said seemed to make the whole space freeze up. Both Dragon God’s and Leo’s eyes went wide, like they’d just heard something extremely absurd.
"Hey, what’s wrong with you? Did you even try listening to what you just said?"
Leo felt extremely weird hearing those words. He even had this absurd thought that Michael actually liked being mistreated. But thinking back, Michael’s scared expression when he saw Dragon God didn’t seem like he liked that kind of thing.
Dragon God felt the same as Leo. She had beat up a lot of energy monsters, but she’d never seen anyone say such weird stuff.
Of course, she was smart enough to understand that the only purpose of these words was to convince her to pick a name that drew less attention.
"Wow, didn’t think you’d be so thoughtful. If that’s the case, I’ll have to actively ’train’ you. At least get your level up to Leo’s for now."
Dragon God replied with a playful laugh. Of course, not everything she said was nonsense. At least the part about getting Michael’s strength to at least approach Leo’s level was really necessary.
If she didn’t do that, this three-person team would have a big strength disparity, leading to reduced coordination effectiveness. Anyway, during a fight, Michael couldn’t just run away every time he met an enemy.
"Huh???"
Michael’s jaw felt like it was dislocated. He couldn’t close his mouth. Other people being enthusiastic about him was a good thing, but if Dragon God wanted to actively ’train’ him, it definitely wasn’t a good thing.
"You’re so happy you can’t close your mouth from smiling, right? You’re really making me embarrassed. How about you think of a name for me?"
Dragon God, of course, understood that Michael’s current expression wasn’t happiness. She simply wanted to tease him. She liked watching him get angry but not being able to do anything to her.
Veins bulged on Michael’s forehead. If he had the strength, he would definitely rush over and fight her. All those damn dragon scales would have to be scraped off before he could feel satisfied.
Now, aside from using his mouth to piss her off, he couldn’t think of any other way. Want him to name her? Let’s see if she’s got the guts to use it.
"You are Dragon God, your status is noble, so you can’t just pick any old name. Don’t you think?"
"Uhm, not bad. Now, do you want to be my subordinate? I might consider reducing the intensity of your ’training’."
Dragon God smiled and nodded, looking very pleased. But heaven knows if her words were true or just her intentionally messing with Michael.
The more Michael listened, the more annoyed he got. He was determined to think of a way to make her accept some bizarre name he came up with.
"It’s just... are you really sure you want me to pick a name? I’ll choose the most noble name for you, but what if you don’t like it? Wouldn’t all my effort thinking be wasted?"
His tone was a bit hesitant yet seemed sincere. It made others feel like he was really worried about Dragon God.
Dragon God slowly walked over to his side. The plump, fair hand of an ’adorable little girl’ gently placed itself on Michael’s shoulder. Her gaze, weirdly full of understanding and respect, stared straight into Michael’s eyes.
"I get it. I’ll definitely accept your kindness. Besides, it’s just a name. No matter how bad it is, at least you wouldn’t give me a name that would put you two at a disadvantage, right?"
The two of them looked extremely weird right now. They were so polite that the atmosphere around them became incredibly awkward.
The corner of Leo’s mouth twitched. He really didn’t understand what kind of play Dragon God and Michael were putting on anymore. The more he watched, the more his eyes hurt and the more fake it all seemed.
"Of course it can’t be some ordinary name. Your status as Dragon God deserves a name that’s one-of-a-kind. No one in the past has had it, and no one in the future will be the same."
Michael spoke with such conviction, as if he actually had a name that good in his head.
Dragon God and Leo were also curious, not understanding what kind of name Michael was hyping up like that.
"Oh, then tell me, what is this name?"
"Listen carefully, the one-of-a-kind title worthy of Dragon God when in human form is... Skibberflazzledoomerangthraxion."
???
Did I just hear that right? Is this a name a human should have, or is this just pure nonsense?
Dragon God glanced at Leo, and at the same time Leo stared back at her weirdly. The atmosphere became weird again in a way that was hard to describe.
This name was really strange, but it seemed like no one had ever had the same name before, and no one would ever use this name in the future either.
She smiled a satisfied smile and then squinted at Michael, making a really bad feeling rise up in his gut.
Michael felt his face go a little numb and gravity seemed off too. He was clearly looking forward, but he could see the clear sky above him.
A painful crashing sound echoed. Dragon God used her hand to grab Michael’s head and slammed him hard into the ground. If she hadn’t held back, Michael’s neck would have been broken.
Michael’s head hurt like a hammer hit it. He felt like he was in some kind of memory erasure treatment. This dizzy, hazy feeling mixed with sharp pain made him forget everything he was about to do.
While Michael was still dazed, Dragon God grabbed the collar of his robe, sat him up, and slapped him twice to ’wake him up’.
"Say that name again."
"Um... Uh... Skibberfronkleddoomerangimbus?"
Michael stammered out a bunch of words that felt right in his mouth. His head was still too dizzy to think clearly.
Dragon God didn’t say anything but grabbed Michael’s face again and slammed his head into the ground once more.
