I Am Genie-Chapter 78: Persuading Dragon God To Change Name
The current situation could be said that Leo’s group has half of the gods on this continent. He himself never expected that just as things started, they’d already gained such a huge advantage.
Even if he assumed all the remaining gods belonged to the enemy’s faction, he still felt the future chance of victory was pretty high.
"So now the three of us are officially a team. Isn’t this team the strongest on the continent?"
Although Michael felt the future would be pretty gloomy having to face Dragon God every day, the current lineup also made him feel that Leo’s wish had a high chance of coming true.
"Is that even a question? Even though we haven’t restored our god-level strength yet, in the future we definitely will. Three gods, three domains. You support, Leo fights close-range and controls, and I fight long-range. Who can beat us?"
Saying this, Dragon God also froze for a moment. This current combo was way stronger than the combo of her, Sun God, and Sea God.
In terms of individual power, there wasn’t much difference, but the domains of the current lineup could coordinate better than the old lineup.
Leo, hearing this kind of assessment from the most experienced person, Dragon God, also froze. He really hadn’t had the time to think about how the three of them would coordinate.
This overly ridiculous combo really did seem invincible. Unless the enemy had an overwhelming power gap, if not, the combined strength of them would still be enough to take down a stronger enemy.
Michael at this moment was thinking about some turn-based games he used to play back on Earth. The current lineup was really lacking someone in the support position.
"Hey, do you know any gods with abilities like healing support, creating shields to block damage for teammates, or having buffs that increase combat power? If we had someone like that supporting us, we’d definitely be invincible."
But the only reply he got was her firm head shake.
"There’s no god like that, at least none of the ones I’ve met have that kind of ability. And don’t even think about using mortals to buff a god’s power.
All kinds of support and enhancement skills that directly affect the body can’t be used on someone with a much higher level. The gap between humans and gods is huge, so we can’t receive the effects of those kinds of skills."
Michael was a bit disappointed. If an existence like that existed, he and Leo would be extremely hard to kill. Leo’s wish, if he had to be confident, could be said to be ninety-nine percent certain to succeed.
But Leo right now was paying special attention to what she said. Combined with the story she once told, he thought of another kind of possibility.
"That god who didn’t appear back then, is there any chance that one was this type?"
"I feel like this possibility is pretty high, but I can’t confirm it. Anyway, about this matter, I’m not the one who gets to decide." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Dragon God shrugged, her words were non-committal and didn’t really have any substantial meaning. She herself was also curious about the owner of that ability that had kept her trapped in a ’sleeping’ state for so long.
"It’s fine if we don’t have a good support. Anyway, I don’t think there’s any existence in this world that can beat three gods combining their strength. Even if all the remaining gods are on the same side, the worst-case scenario is a draw."
Michael said confidently as if he were truly a god, even though his current strength was really nothing much... No, he really was a god now, but a useless one.
Suddenly he thought about the problem of identity. He himself was a genie, but on the outside, he still used the title ’Michael’. But Dragon God, it seems she didn’t have any other name to use.
"Hey, you’re a person now, have you thought of a name yet?"
"Huh? What name? Doesn’t everyone call me ’Dragon God’?"
Dragon God looked at Michael blankly, completely confused. She was a god, what did a god need a name for? Haven’t people been calling her by her true identity, ’Dragon God’, all these years?
Seeing this clueless expression of hers, Michael understood right away. Her experience was way too different, so her way of thinking wasn’t the same as a human’s. This couldn’t really be blamed on her, after all, she was truly a god, not a god’s inheritor like Leo.
"You are indeed Dragon God, but this title in human society draws way too much attention. At the same time, you currently don’t have enough strength to bear that title, right? I think Michael’s meaning is he wants to find you a name suitable for your current identity."
Seeing Dragon God just standing there cluelessly, Leo stepped in on Michael’s behalf to explain to her the importance of a name.
"So what? Since when has any god gone around hiding their identity? Since when are gods so cowardly?"
Dragon God shook her head frantically, her gaze at Leo and Michael suddenly becoming extremely contemptuous.
???
Are gods stupid or something? Look at your current strength. Does it look anything like the power a god should have?
Leo and Michael looked at each other helplessly, their thoughts following the same pattern. Her excessive confidence was of course because she couldn’t die at the hands of humans. But after being killed, who knows how many years later she would revive?
Wouldn’t that naturally push them into danger and, at the same time, make them lose a god in the future? Neither Leo nor Michael could agree to something this stupid.
But the biggest problem was how to persuade an existence as stubborn as her? Michael at this moment was scratching his head trying to think of a reason to convince her.
Suddenly a very ’dangerous’ thought flashed through his mind, one he really didn’t want to say, but in the current situation, not saying it would cause more loss.
"Think about it carefully. If you do that, you’ll be easily killed by someone stronger before you’ve had a chance to develop. If you die too soon, how will you have time to ’train’ me?"
Saying these words, Michael felt extremely nauseous. If he weren’t extremely hungry right now, he really would find a tree somewhere to vomit all his food out.
