After leaving Tracy, Steve immediately went to find Steve to tell him what was going on.

Alarmed, Steve stood to his feet and asked,

"Where’s Raymond now?" He looked panicked.

"I don’t know but the girl isn’t in a stable state. We can’t just leave things as they are." Skylar said and Steve squinted his eyes.

"What are you saying? Do you mean we should play along with her simply because she lost her memories? You want Raymond to act like this ’Ray’ in her memories?" He asked and Skylar looked aside.

That wasn’t exactly what he was saying but if they could do that and calm her down, it could be of great help.

"Skylar, she saved Rachael, yes but we are not entitled to act as she wishes because of that. For all we know, she might have a hidden motive for saving Rachael." He took his coat and wore it.

Skylar watched him. Was that what they really felt?

"Raymond is not an ordinary figure. He’s the most powerful man in this country and his influence. Even the president can’t call the shots when he’s around. There are threats everywhere so what’s there to conclude that this ’Tracy’ is not one of the threats?

Steve looked at Skylar with serious eyes and started heading for the door. But just as he was about to open the door, Paige barged in. She looked furious.

"I left everything in your care for one night and now this is happening. Why is Raymond so mad?" She asked. "I thought Rachael already woke up."

Steve looked at Skylar and then Paige.

"What exactly is this ’happening’ that you speak of?" Steve asked.

"Raymond just... " she paused and tilted her head. "What happened?"

"Nothing big but your brother will tell you the whole thing. Right now, I think it’ll be better for me to find Raymond." He asked and Paige folded her arms

"So something did happen?" she asked. "What happened?

Steve, seeing Paige would persistently ask for an explanation till the end, no longer responded and simply walked past her. Seeing his sudden attitude, Paige could only wonder what happened.

She turned to Skylar who had his fist clenched and trembling.

"The girl that saved Rachael, her name is Tracy." he began. "She woke up and thought Raymond was this guy in her memories. She threw herself on him and started accusing him of promising marriage only to betray her and give her to a dangerous man. That was that interpretation of everything she said."

Paige starred in surprise. Such a thing happened out of nowhere? No wonder Raymond was vexed.

"I get why Raymond’s mad." She said, contemplating. "A case of confused memories, huh?"

"Is this really okay?" Skylar asked and she looked up at him, wondering what he was talking about. "She’s the one who saved Rachael. If she didn’t save Rachael, she wouldn’t have gotten into that state. The least we can do is help her. "

Paige looked at her brother. Was he thinking at all?

"I agree that it’s right to help her but..." she took a step towards him to look straight at him. "...little Rachael wouldn’t have been suffering if she didn’t try to save that woman first."

"What?"

"There was a man after her to begin with. Rachael and Romeo managed to get that man under custody, saving her so what she did..." she lightly pushed his chest. "...It can be regarded as paying back what Rachael did for her."

Skylar was silent. He didn’t know that back story. But still... his clenched fists tightened.

"Skylar." Paige yelled at him, taking him aback. "You need to remember that Raymond isn’t just anybody. From everywhere, there are threats. What’s to say this woman isn’t part of the enemy’s scheme to get close to Raymond? Confused memories? More like planned."

"Why would you speak like that? Tracy could be innocent."

"And at the same time, she could be just as guilty." Paige glared. "Don’t get a soft heart on me now. You know what we’ve passed through. What Raymond passed through. Skylar watched her leave and bowed his head. What was he thinking all the while? Was it because he saw her as a woman? A pitiful woman?

He gritted his teeth. How could he let himself be fooled?

He walked out and headed to Rachael’s room. First thing was to keep Rachael safe at all costs. Maybe now they would need to deploy guards around Alexa’s room.

"I won’t make a mistake again." He said to himself.

He got to the room after calling the guard unit to stand guard outside Alexa’s room and report any suspicious person.

Romeo was sleeping on the same bed with Rachael. They looked so peaceful and this made Skylar even more mad. To think there was someone who wanted to get rid of this kid and keep Alexa to themselves.

After all, who was it that they were dealing with? How powerful were they that they couldn’t even figure it out?

"This time. I must protect you." He said to himself.
