Chapter 254 Destined Death And Fateful Victory.

The vampires gaped in astonishment.

Even Bernard, who was the Lord of the East Sea Metropolis and a Grandmaster professional, was also shocked to the core.

He gazed deeply at William. He believed that William was telling the truth.

But even if he was the Lord of the City of Dawn, what could he do?

If Bernard were to kill William right now, who would know about it?

Even if everyone got to know that Bernard had killed William, would his supporters take revenge just because of one death?

At this thought, Bernard made his move.

That was right. He wanted to test the power of William. If William was that capable, then Bernard would let Diablo take revenge on the Bruce family.

If Bernard were to back down from the challenge, how would his subordinates view him?

Bernard was a city lord, and he had built his reputation with brute force. He had grown from weak to strong and had a rich experience. Why would he yield to intimidation?

What would happen to his authority if he yielded?

“Nonsense, you’re just a small kid without a beard. Do you think everyone has to give way to you because of your lucky feat on the continent?”

A figure arrived before William.

Bang!

An invisible wave emanated out from William. Even the Grandmaster Bernard felt dizzy after being hit by the Soul Attack!

William was emotionless as he activated the battle energy shield, Power of the Saint Spirit, and the Dawn Assault.

All of William’s attributes increased by 23%. It looked as though the Thunder God had descended. A deep furrow appeared on the ground as William charged towards Bernard.

Bernard recovered his senses and transformed into a two-meter tall ferocious beast.

He revealed his fangs while he hammered with his two muscular arms at the charging William!

Boom!

An energy wave rippled out in all directions.

William’s Power of the Saint Spirit and Dawn Assault only made Bernard step back once. This combo move that worked in numerous battles did not work now.

The ground underneath both of them cracked like spider webs. Their arms were entangled, and green veins started to show as though they were bulls locked in combat.

“There’s all that you have to show?” The strong Bernard panted heavily while eyeing William’s neck. He wanted to take a bite.

William noticed that look. Bernard’s power was incredible, but he had not shown his wings. This indicated that it was only a novice-level transformation. His most powerful form was yet to come.

Suddenly, William kicked forward. Bernard was shocked, and he backed up to evade William’s sudden and furious kick!

Bernard had been almost hit.

After both of them separated, William’s right hand rested on the sword hilt while he raised his brow and asked, “Do you wish for me to draw my sword?”

William admitted that he could not defeat Bernard. The previous encounter had only been a teaser. A Grandmaster close-combat professional could be considered a Jedi warrior. This meant that a Jedi warrior would not be bound to the ground. The sky was the Jedi warrior’s battleground.

The Jedi’s flying ability was much faster and more agile than an Advanced professional.

The Jedi warrior had various long-distance battle energy skills that were many times more than an Advanced professional. Even if it was not a long-distance skill, the Jedi warrior had bonuses for distance-combat. So as long as a Jedi warrior was in the air, he could defeat an Advanced professional easily.

The quality of the battle energy also affected the outcome. It was impossible for an Advanced professional to defeat a Grandmaster vampire.

William was unable to defeat Bernard, especially when he was a vampire with the Epic bloodline.

But it was not important as William had a Godly weapon.

The Sword of Hegni!

The Sword of Hegni did not have any level restriction. The enhanced attack strength of this sword far exceeded the high and Grandmaster Legendary weapon.

More importantly, it was able to sacrifice Health Points in order to increase attack strength. Hence, even if Bernard was at the Grandmaster, William could slash him to death!!

When William wielded the black longsword in his hands, a cursed aura filled everyone with a sense of despair!

Wiliam was also engulfed by the curse.

Bernard could not help squint in disbelief. How could William have such an evil weapon?

As a vampire, Bernard professed not to touch those evil and cursed weapons. But he did not expect the righteous Lord of the City of Dawn to have such a weapon. Perhaps, William was a darker and more evil person than Bernard!

“Only the City of Dawn prevailed over the Darkness Invasion in the Legendary continent. Perhaps, William is a pawn of the dark creatures.” Bernard started to panic. The more he thought about it, the more he felt as though he had discovered a dark secret!

Bernard watched William gradually unsheathe the sword. When the blade was halfway out of the scabbard, the dark rays emitted from the sword. The cursed aura filled the entire area that was bounded by a barrier.

“Gosh! Is he the Lord of the City of Dawn or a Dark Lord?”

“Take a look. His Thunder shield is engulfed by darkness.” The vampires communicated via telepathy. They had encountered an evil BOSS.

William had a sinister smile as he edged closer to Bernard. He licked his lips with his tongue and laughed malevolently. “Do you wish to have a go? When I draw my sword, let’s see if you’ll die?”

“Afraid? How can I be afraid?” Even if Bernard was wary of William’s weapon, he would not say so!

Bernard had a blood-colored longsword.

When William stepped forward, both of them unsheathed their blades!

Black lightning and crimson sword energy engulfed each other!

Bang!

Crack!

A brilliant wave filled the entire battlefield. A few nearby vampires were sent flying back, and they spat out fresh blood while in mid-air.

When William unsheathed his sword, he used one of his powerful moves, the Light of Dawn!

“This is only the first move!”

William shouted effortlessly.

Bernard was unaffected. The second slash came, but he parried with his blood-colored longsword!

Boom!

The ground started quaking. The ground underneath both of them sank a few meters.

The barrier interior was flashing with electric arcs and crimson sword energy.

That was William’s second move, the ‘Fury of Thunder’ that made use of blood sacrifices. It would increase the damage to creatures who were ten levels higher than William.

After fighting for another round, both of them inhaled deeply.

William was about to make his third move using the passive skill ‘Destructive Sword Energy’.

But Bernard only frowned slightly. All other vampires started to retreat, and they wished they could take cover outside the barrier.

But at this moment, Bernard casually laughed, and he gestured for William to stop. Then, he said, “We’re all neutral lords. We can have a good discussion. There’s no need to fight to the death. It’s not good for our reputation!”

William watched Bernard sheathe his crimson longsword, and heartily laughed. “It’s good to settle things peacefully. But the City of Dawn will not be intimidated. I hope Lord Bernard can understand that.”

“Hehe.” When Bernard’s crimson sword was fully sheathed.

Crack!

It was a brittle sound!

Nobody noticed that William was still smiling subtly.

Bernard had sent his longsword into the space ring. He glanced at the ill-intentioned William and cursed inside, “This is a sword that I had used for many years, and you broke it with two moves? Is your blade a Godly weapon?”

Bernard warily looked at William’s black longsword. He did not know what price one needed to pay for using such a cursed weapon, but he was sure that it would be a heavy price. Hence, even though the blade was tempting, he had no intention of owning it.

Because his wariness of William increased instead of decreasing.

William wanted to take three vicious moves to make Bernard wary. He wanted to make sure that Bernard could not take advantage of him.

As even though William was only an Advanced professional, he was not a little mouse that could be easily killed by a Grandmaster opponent.

With the ‘Destructive Sword Energy’ of the Sword of Hegni, it was able to damage the durability or destroy enemy weapons. This would make Bernard extremely wary.

Not everyone could use ‘The Sword of Hegni’.

All the warriors within the barrier had more than ten points of luck. Some even had a hundred points of luck.

But what about William?

He had only one point of luck!

The curse could not bother him, but it was not the same for everyone else.

When Lautner saw the Sword of Hegni, he wanted to try it. But once he found out about the cursed aura, he ran far away so that he would not be cursed with bad luck.

Besides…

Alec was not around, so Bernard did not wish to kill William.

Anyone with a brain would know that the City of Dawn would definitely have Grandmaster warriors!

Many people would think that the City of Dawn had super-level professionals who would protect William.

It was because William held too much power and influence. Many power centers were jealous of him.

Before they could kill William secretly, any powerful nation below the Kingdom status would not dare to antagonize the supporters behind William.

Therefore, Bernard and William sat down to negotiate.

The final result was that Diablo would duel against the Bruce clan leader.

Both of them were Advanced warriors. Diablo had just attained the high level while the Bruce clan leader was almost attaining the Grandmaster level.

There was only a condition for the duel.

Life or Death!

Death would mean the extermination of the entire clan. All the wealth would belong to the victor.

It was a duel that was unfavorable for the Bruce clan.

But nobody objected!

Because it was close to impossible for Diablo, who had just attained the high level to defeat the Bruce clan leader!

The vampires were confident that they were going to benefit from the duel.

It was a suicidal duel.

But what about Diablo?

He was nonchalantly cleaning his long spear.

William had done what he promised.

It would be his turn to exact his vengeance.

For a spearman, there was no retreat, except thrusting whatever was in front of him.

Life and death were predestined.

Victory or defeat was decided by the stars.

He had been alone since young. He was never fearful of death in his life!
