Chapter 556: Chapter 100: Forcing the Snake God to Appear!

The scorching wind seemed to mirror Gleya’s mood.

She stared at Duncan’s back ahead and finally couldn’t help but ask, "Why did she address you as ’Your Majesty’?"

"Who exactly are you?"

There are very few beings in human history that can be addressed as ’Your Majesty’ by a Divine Spirit, and this world essentially has none. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Hearing this, Duncan stopped walking. Instead of directly answering Gleya’s question, he countered by asking, "Are you very curious?"

"Yes." Witch Gleya nodded solemnly, "At the very least, you owe me some answers."

She had followed him here; she couldn’t be completely in the dark.

That wouldn’t be fair to her.

Duncan pondered for a moment, standing on the cliff’s edge, gazing at the small temple pyramid nearby, and slowly said, "I once built a vast empire."

"All Spirits were probably my defeated foes back then."

All Spirits were disgruntled, murmuring quietly.

What do you mean by defeated foes? They hadn’t lost yet; the eagle of the prairie lay ahead. It was merely a strategic retreat.

Besides, how could you speak about your teammates like that?

Duncan smiled, extending his hand to the air, as if soothing the non-existent Essences of All Spirits. They existed based on the theory of animism, where strong individuals become the Divine Spirits within the All Spirits Faith. But essentially, they had the capacity to aggregate into an existence similar to a Gaia consciousness.

As expected.

Witch Gleya curiously asked, "How big was it?"

The term ’empire’ was quite foreign.

The earliest empires in human history date back to around 2000 BC, but they were short-lived, leaving behind remnants like Gilgamesh, a hopeless fool, wielding the remnants of mythological faith as treasure.

The gods bestowed him with the epic mythology of Mesopotamia, hoping he would revive and pass it on, letting the Hanging Gardens shine once more, not for him to wield them as a sword to bully weaker Heroic Spirits.

Faced with true masters, he would be beaten like a dog.

This fool was nothing but a leaper among mortals; encountering Odin or Shakyamuni, he lacked the courage to confront them directly.

Strictly speaking, the empire most familiar to everyone was the Ancient Persian Empire, around 500 BC, more akin to the current era’s context. Indeed, east of the golden desert was an empire, already in decline. Should someone akin to Alexander the Great emerge, it’s highly likely the empire would be extinguished.

The vast empire Duncan spoke of did not exist in this world.

Thus, the answer had surfaced.

However, Witch Gleya could neither speak nor inquire more about it. She was a wise woman, knowing some matters shouldn’t be pursued to the end.

Duncan contemplated for a moment, then slowly said, "From the Northern Icefield to the Storm Islands, from the Golden Coast to the Eastern Desert, from the Sword Bay Strait of the Gods of Faith to the South Asian Subcontinent under our feet."

That large?!

Are you sure you’re not exaggerating?

Witch Gleya naturally knew Duncan was significant, but such a vast empire’s territory was unimaginable.

How could anyone manage such expanse?

As if he sensed her thoughts, Duncan nodded, "It truly was difficult to manage."

Northern Europe was essentially parceled out.

From Italy to Britain, most of Europe served as the core, Constantinople could govern the East, but the management of Mesopotamia had already deteriorated later on, not to mention vast expanses of the Russian map causing headaches, with the Barbarian Race repeatedly stalling the expansion.

During Duncan’s late tenure, North African Carthage remained in a laissez-faire state, where local governors conquered Africa themselves. How much territory they captured, even Duncan wasn’t sure.

Probably only after entering the modern era could historians estimate the extent of land conquered in Africa during its peak.

This doesn’t even include overseas colonies such as Iceland and Gellanling Island, plus regions like West Africa.

"Wouldn’t that span three continental shelves?"

Witch Gleya was shocked, feeling Duncan wasn’t lying, but if true, the scale seemed excessively large.

In her understanding, Duncan had indeed conquered the Northern Barbarian Race (Germanic), Western countries (Europe), the Golden Coast (Ancient Egypt), the Storm Islands and Sword Bay Strait (North African surroundings), the Desert Empire (Middle Eastern Persian Empire), and more.

In reality, Duncan’s conquered territory was larger than imagined, as she couldn’t fully grasp the vast lands surrounding Russia.

Though conquered, managing them was unfeasible.

The era constrained Duncan, otherwise he could have ravaged the subcontinent, conquered the Middle East, India, Eurasian Region, and marched directly to the Himalayas.

Europe, Asia, Africa.

Gleya wasn’t wrong, it did indeed span three continental shelves.

"So this is why the Divine Spirit would call him ’Your Majesty’?"

Witch Gleya wanted to ask more, but Duncan had already given no further answer. Sometimes, guessing a bit was sufficient; believe it or not, was up to oneself.

All Spirits had already gone all-in, believe it or not.

Dimension Space.

Duncan’s consciousness returned to the God Point of View; he now had deeper insights into this world and was progressively dissecting the root of godly existence, and determining ways to potentially eradicate them.

"This is essentially a divine arena, a battle royale mode."

"They are engaging in infinite-flow descent."

"In the Dark Ages, the first wave of Earth Gods and Otherworld Gods descended; back then there should have been three pantheon factions: the Earth Gods of the Root World, native gods of this world, and Otherworld Gods from elsewhere."
