Husband you've abandoned me. Fine, I'll focus on raising my son-Chapter 234: Mother understanding
"In the last week, we traced back the modifications to him. He is one of the few people in the finance department with the authority to access bank vaults and databases," Mr. Boar started.
"On the days the changes were made, it was noted that he had made several strange transactions that at first glance were difficult to understand. However, now it is believed they were made to cover up his changes to your account."
"Why did he do it, and who contacted him to do it?" I asked him.
"We don’t know yet, sir. He is in police custody and is being interrogated as we speak," he explained.
Mr. Boar and I went through the details of what had occurred for about another hour as I pieced together what had happened.
However, when we were done, I was left unsatisfied. I needed to know who called him someone from my company, I suspected.
I got in the car and went to the HQ. I had to get a few papers before I headed home for the day. Upon arriving I was greeted by Edward, who came to me upon reaching the top floor.
Edward was on the suspect list like everyone else in the finance department.
It felt awkward talking to anyone on the suspect list until the truth was finally confirmed. I was also going to be more hands-on at the office until then.
"Your mother is at home is at the office, in the waiting area, sir," he informed me.
My eyes widened in shock.
"Why didn’t you tell me my mother was here earlier?" I asked him.
"She told us not to tell you she was here and said she would wait for you instead," he informed me. I wanted to reprimand him but recalled my mother tended to do this.
"Let me go see her then," I said.
I entered the waiting area where my mother was seated with a cup of coffee and some biscuits. She looked my way as I drew closer to her and gave me a warm smile.
She was of middling height, had wrinkles. Her strawberry blonde hair which was turning grey, was neatly styled. She wore a fine turquoise dress that complemented her eyes.
"Mother, why didn’t you call?" I asked her as I walked towards her and hugged her.
As we came apart, she looked up at me. "I try not to bother you as much as possible since I know you’re busy with work, but I was worried about you, given how everything that has happened lately," she told me.
I occasionally visited my mother whenever I had time. About once a month. She lived on the outskirts of the city about an hour drive from the Acland estate.
"Why didn’t you tell about this sooner?
"I didn’t want to worry you," I explained to her. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"You not telling me worried me even more," she told me. "Your son is missing, and apparently the son you raised might not even have been your son."
"I’m sorry," I apologized.
"How are you managing?"
"Barely..." I told her. "I just want to find my son."
"You will," she encouraged me and gave my shoulder a squeeze.
"And have you seen your father?" She asked me stiffly. She despised my father.
"Yes, he went to see the estate the other day," I told her.
"This whole situation is ridiculous," she said. "And Jasmine? You live with her now?"
My lips pressed into a thin line as I recalled the conversation I had had with my father the other day.
"How is she taking things? I understand you two were in the middle of a divorce," she continued.
"Not very well..." I started. "She’s obviously upset about me choosing Diana. But with everything happening, I thought it would be safest for her if she stayed with me.
Unlike my father, whom I couldn’t really share how I felt with my mother I could trust her with my feelings.
"She was seeing someone younger as well, right?"
"She was."
A troubled expression was on her face as she listened to me. "Do you want to fix things?" She asked me.
"Yes, I do. If I knew I was being lied to by Diana. I never would have left her," I explained. "You know my character, mother. You know how I despised what Father did to you. I would never want to do that to someone."
Her eyes searched mine as a she gave me a look of sympathy.
"I know you have a good heart, darling. I know you would want to fix your mistakes," she told me.
"I don’t know how to make her understand. I don’t want to lose her as well..." I confessed.
"It’s normal for her to be upset and to not want to talk to you. However, the thing is that you actually want to change. Unlike your father, you want to make that effort. I’m sure she will come to see that one day. I’ll talk to her," she told me as she brought her hand to my cheek and gently held it. "Let’s go to your estate."
I felt comforted and encouraged by her words. Hopefully, she could talk to Jasmine.
"Alright, let me just get a few things from the office, and we can go," I told her.

DO NOT READ
Five seemed a bit excessive though. I thought to myself, considering the fact that I was also injured but anyway.
I looked through the files. The first thing I had taken note of was all the names involved in all the reports. Perhaps a pattern would form as I read through them. With the draft account documents
As I worked I also took several breaks. Coffee breaks with Keith, at lunch I went to the cafeteria.
"So, found anything so far?" He asked me at the end of the day.
"I can have copies all the documents sent to the estate and you can look through them from there," Keith told me.
