Horrific Shorts: Zombie Edition-Chapter 656: Story : Blood and Command
General Viktor "Bloodfang" Kruger stood at the heart of his war room, the dim golden light casting deep shadows over his scarred face. His crimson beret sat perfectly on his head, a symbol of his unwavering command, but behind his cold, piercing eyes, something was shifting.

The serum coursing through his veins had begun to do more than enhance him—it was changing him. His grip tightened on the metal railing before him as he gazed down at the battlefield monitor. Flashes of fire and undead clashes illuminated the war below.
"Sir, the resistance is pushing back harder than expected. Their necromancers have reinforced the front lines."
Kruger turned slowly to face Sergeant Darius "Hellhound" Rook, who stood at attention, his face twisted with frustration. "Our hounds are losing ground," Rook growled. "We need to strike now, before they regroup."
Kruger was silent for a moment. His fingers absentmindedly brushed the hilt of his combat knife, the steel cold against his skin. "Deploy Reaper-77," he said, his voice calm but edged with something dark.
Rook hesitated for half a second before nodding. "Understood, sir."
As the sergeant left, Dr. Sylvia "Plague Mistress" Voss stepped forward, her amusement barely hidden beneath a sly smirk. "You hesitate more than usual, General. The serum… it's pushing you toward something greater, but you resist."
Kruger shot her a glare, his jaw clenching. "I am in control."
"Are you?" she whispered. "Your instincts tell you to embrace it. To lead not as a man—but as something far more powerful."
Kruger turned away from her, his fists tightening. He could hear the voices again. They whispered in the edges of his mind, urging him forward, promising him dominance beyond mere war.
"Enough," he growled.
With a sudden movement, he grabbed his combat knife, flipping it in his hand, and drove it into the metal table beside him. The sound echoed in the chamber.
Voss chuckled. "You'll see soon enough."
Alarms suddenly blared through the command center.
"General! Enemy reinforcements incoming—heavy resistance!"
Kruger exhaled slowly, pushing the whispers aside. His eyes burned with controlled rage. He turned back to the screen, watching as a new wave of enemy forces surged forward.
It was time to remind them who ruled the battlefield.
He reached for his blade, lifting it from the steel with ease, his muscles coiling like a predator ready to strike.
"Send in the Grave Titan," he ordered, his voice ice-cold.
The beast within him still waited, lurking. But for now, Kruger would wage this war his way.
For now.
