Holy Necromancer: Rebirth of the Strongest Mage-Chapter 1124: A little too well
"Enough!" Echoed a voice from the Imperial ranks.
A General, clad in gleaming armor, pushed his way to the front. "The evidence is undeniable. The Angels are harboring a criminal, and obstructing Imperial justice. Lord Drike, we will assist you in retrieving your daughter!"
The General gave a sharp nod, and Imperial soldiers began to move, forming ranks and preparing to assault the mansion. Karyk subtly shifted his position, placing himself between the advancing soldiers and Alatar.
"Are you certain that you want to take this step?" A sword materialized in his hand.
"Today, no one can stop us. Our Ministers have been killed and the evidence is undeniable. The fact that you aren't allowing us to apprehend the criminal makes your stance just as clear."
The General who held the same rank as the Duke, knew that the two youngsters could never stop him. It might have been different if their father was here.
Karyk glanced in the direction of the Palace. The General wasn't even hesitating when pointing a sword at him, which meant the Regent had already given him permission.
"I have received your answer. Unfortunately, it was the wrong answer," the Regent was standing near the window, watching the Guards rush out of the palace.
It was a state of war and the order was given to apprehend the angelic clan's heir, and more importantly Chronos.
"So you didn't like my answer, huh." Instead of being upset, he revealed a subtle smirk.
The Regent frowned at the sight of his smirk. Until now, she was certain that she had played her cards right. If he was to side with her, the world could have belonged to him. If he didn't side with her, then there was a world of pain waiting for him.
It was only after seeing that smile even in a situation like this, she started having a bad feeling about this.
"Why doesn't he look angry, or even worried?" she mumbled.
"Take Chronos down first, but make sure he doesn't die," she instructed the general, who had gotten more active after her command.
"Even after we welcomed the Time Lord's family to our home, they betrayed our trust! We can't let any outsider trample on the dignity of the Empire! I will take him down myself." The General tightened his grip on the sword.
"I will handle the Angels and get the whereabouts of my daughter," Drike Patriarch also stepped forward.
He also wants to deal with Chronos, whose face had irritated him a lot throughout this time, for reasons he couldn't quite understand. But his daughter was still his priority.
He had to deal with the Angelic Prince if he wanted his daughter back.
"Brother, you should leave with your people. We will hold them back," Alatar also stepped forward, telling Karyk to leave even now. "If I told them back here, you should be able to make your way back to the battleship."
"An Overlord Class ship should be able to leave this place, even if it would be damaged a lot in the process. As long as you are out of this place, inform your father about everything that happened here. My father should also be with him."
"But I... How can I leave you behind? I will fight with you!" Karyk looked back, and revealed his perplexed expressions, as if his heart was in pain at the thought of abandoning a brother.
"It is impossible to win this battle. I can only abandon this body when I can't take it anymore, and wake up in my real body back home. But it's not the same for you. Leave this place before we get completely surrounded."
"But-"
"Don't give me excuses. If you truly considered me a friend, then leave this place! I will see you later and then we will definitely share a few drinks together!"
Karyk clenched his fists, making sure that his veins were visible to show just how much he was resisting and upset.
"Alright. Just because you are forcing me, I will leave. But you better be telling the truth. If I don't find you back, I will be really sad."
"When I first met you, I truly didn't think that we could be such good friends. But with you, I truly don't miss the presence of my brother. When I wake up back home, I will definitely contact you."
Alatar didn't know what this feeling was, but having someone as strong as him that he could trust, made him feel a little happy, especially since there were not many who liked him in the Lords Faction.
He pushed Karyk back, and told his guards to take action, even if they were to sacrifice their lives.
Meanwhile, Karyk started rubbing back.
"Where are you running, you coward!" The General roared, making the ears of the weaker ones bleed just from his roar. He flew behind Karyk.
"I am your opponent!" The Guard of the Angelic Clan blocked the General with an attack.
"Maybe in your next life!" The General swung his sword, cutting through reality.
The angelic guard didn't even know how it happened but the attack passed through all his defences, as it was not established in the reality itself.
For a moment, his life flashed before his eyes before everything turned dark. The next moment, he woke up in his main body back in the Angelic Clan.
He quickly rushed to inform the Elders about what had happened, while other guards that had accompanied Alatar also started waking up one after another.
Meanwhile, Karyk had also killed his way through the city. While rubbing, he snapped his fingers, and multiple explosions shook the city, targeting only the core points of the hidden city protection formation.
With the sealing barrier growing weaker, he sliced through the barrier and jumped out of the city with his shadow guards while the General chased after him.
He could also feel even a few more powerful existences starting to wake up within the city.
"That went a little too well..." he mumbled, even as the general swung his sword, cutting the reality once more.
