Holy Necromancer: Rebirth of the Strongest Mage-Chapter 1115: If you can
"You didn't tell me that they were also going to attend..." The Drike Family Head watched the battleship, his expressions turning sour.
The battleship didn't belong to any family under the Emperor. Instead, it belonged to a family that was in a faction of their own. It was something that belonged to an Ancient Lord that had fought in the Great War.
It was also a family that was in conflict with his own family. His family was supposed to control the Ancient Battlefield, but the control was snatched by the Angels.
Ever since then, the two families had been in a conflict. They even tried to kill his son in the past.
"Please control your emotions. This is the Royal City, and they are a guest as well. Don't do anything that we all might regret," the Minister reminded Drike Family Head, sensing the killing intent.
He was sure that if he didn't do anything, then the two might actually start fighting. "Moreover, the person that is attending from the Angels, is not their King. It's the Prince... You wouldn't want to hurt a youngster, would you? So save your hostility for later."
The Drike Family Head frowned, hearing the words.
"My father can't hurt him, but what about me?" Aelric said, taking the lead for his father. His father didn't fall to the point of attacking someone's son as the leader that compared himself to the leader of Angels. But he was different. He was also the son of a patriarch.
"It's still the same. This is the Royal City, not a battlefield. Please don't make things hard for us." The Minister said, as the Royal Guards reached out their hands towards their weapons.
"Let it be." Drike Family Head placed his hand on his son's shoulder, stopping him. He watched the door of the battleship open, and a young man stepped out of the ship.
The son of the Angelic Lord had arrived in his humanoid form, leaving his main body back at home. Even if he was destroyed here, he could still return to his main body, something that wasn't possible for any other guest here.
The only problem was that he could only use a fraction of his strength in this body. He didn't care about it though. If needed, he could summon his main body here, so he was as carefree as ever.
He wasn't alone either, as he was accompanied by other Great Warriors of the Angelic Clan, who were also in their human forms since their real bodies were larger than many worlds.
Another Minister reached the Angelic Prince to welcome him and guide him inside the city. The Prince looked towards the Drike Family's group, but he didn't say anything. He simply smiled, but that smile itself was enough to make Aelric's blood boil.
Their battlefield was robbed from them. They even tried to kill him. And after all that, they had the courage to smile before them?
"If we weren't in someone else's home, I would have loved to wipe that smug smile off his face," Aelric said, his hand itching to reach out to his heavy sword that was being carried on his back.
"Another one?" The Ministers were prepared to guide the guests inside once more, but they saw two ministers suddenly rush out of the Royal City.
This time, the atmosphere felt even more tense, as if the entire city was in a lockdown. The two ministers were being accompanied by guards that numbered more than the guards assigned to protect or stop Drike Family and the Angels.
"Hmm? Who could receive such a reception?" Even the Minister accompanying the Drike Family was confused. He thought about the guests that were yet to arrive, and there was one name that stood out from the rest.
He raised his head, and looked at the sky. However, no new battleship could be seen nearby. The battleship was still on the checkpoint, but the city had still enacted such measures, which made him understand just how much importance was given to the next guest.
Even though the Ducal families didn't have their personal storage checked, their battleships were still checked to ensure that they didn't bring any unauthorised person here. Even the Angels, although finding it frustrating, had to go through it.
The next guest was different though.
The royal guards were standing outside the Alpha Class Battleship at the entrance of the galaxy, asking for permission to enter the battleship and check.
Soon, the door of the battleship opened, and the Royal Guards found a lavishly dressed man standing at the entrance. His clothes, and even the features, matched the guest that they were supposed to welcome.
"You want to check our battleship?" Karyk asked the Royal Guards, who were standing outside in large numbers.
"This is just a protocol. We will not check your personal storage. We just want to check the number of people inside." The man leading the guards answered.
"Do you treat us as your subjects?" Karyk frowned.
"This..." The Royal Guard grew silent. He wanted to say yes, since everyone in this universe was considered the subject of the Emperor. But it was only believed in the Empire and those who followed the laws.
The Ancient Lords and their descendents had already refused to accept the Emperor's authority on them. The Empire also didn't force them to accept it, even if they wanted to.
"If you think that we are your subjects, then you are free to step inside. If we also believe that we are, then nothing will happen. But if we don't believe it, then all those who step inside will die the moment they step a foot inside."
Karyk warned the people, not even caring about the enmity from the Royal Family. If anything, that was partially his goal as well.
"Shall we find out?" He stepped back, clearing the path from the battleship entrance.
The guards could easily enter if they wanted, but none of them dared to enter right away. They looked at each other's faces.
They quickly contacted the higher ups, telling them what had happened, and asking for instructions. Because if they actually entered, then it might actually shove the Empire in a war with the Ancient Lords.
